Trials

Sebastion takes off his glasses and passes them to a gang member. "Make sure not to break them, ok?" The gang member nodded and gave Sabastion his sword and Aaron his spear. As Amari watches her eyebrows slightly raise, "Their using real weapons?" The gang member beside her nodded. "Yep, those too are the strongest in the entire gang." Amari hummed in understanding. She then looked at Aaron's weapon. "Uh, that spear Aaron has looks more like a halberd than a spear..."

The wind blows a bit as Aaron and Sebastion get into fighting stances. They then charge at each other and clash. Amari's eyes widen. "Thier fast," Sebastion turns his body and swings, and Aaron blocks it and counters with swinging the spear downwards. The attack leaves a crater in the ground, but Sebastion rolled to the side to avoid the hit. Sabastion swings at Aaron's side, who blocks it. Amari is leaning forward. "It's good Sebastion moved out of the way from the attack. He seems to be mainly built for speed and endurance. Even while fighting Aaron, he doesn't seem out of breath."

Aaron swings at Sebastion's side, and it nearly connects, but Sebastion ducked. "That attack would have sliced him in half if he didn't dodge!" Sebastion swinged at Aaron's knees while he was still low. Aaron kneeled him in the face, sending Sebastion skidding back. Amari cringes, "That's got to hurt." Sebastion then started running toward Aaron, moving from side to side, and once close enough, started running around him, building up speed. Aaron swings, but Sebastion doges, then he jumps up in the air, does a flip, and swings down at Aaron. The coition causes dust to pick up and go around. Aaron blocks it with a smile on his face, but Amari can see a little sweat on his face. Aaron then takes Sebastion by the neck and slams him on the ground, leaving a crack in the ground. Amari was in shock. "He was doing so well..." "That's Aaron, leader of the jaded blade for you," the gang member said. Amari watched as Aaron helped Sebastian up at the end of the fight. "Aw man, now I have to run more.." Sebastion said, rubbing his head with a pout on his face as he put his glasses on, and Aaron laughed, "Run? If I was hit like that, I wouldn't be able to get up, let alone run! Sebastion is not as tall or full of muscle like Aaron is, but he is stronger than me..." Amaris eyes hardened in determination as she stood up, gripping her training spear. "I won't be able to protect the egg from anything if I stay this weak. I won't be able to keep my promise if I stay this weak."

"What should I do next?" She asked, walking up to Aaron, who had Sebastion beside him. Now that she was near Sebastion, she could see that he was about 6'0 (182 cm) and he had a sung Jinwoo build. "Oh, you're done resting already?" Aaron asked. Amari nodded. Seeing this, Aaron smiled, "Good. I hope you were paying attention to the spar between me and Sebastion here." Aaron said, patting Sebastion on the back. Amari nodded. "I was." She turned to Sebastion, who put a handout. "Your Amari, right? Nice to officially meet you," he said with a smile. "Huh, he is different than when he was fighting." Amari took his hand. "Alright, well, since you're ready. I need to ask you something. What star are you?" Aaron asked, "Star?" She asked a little confused. "Yeah" Seeing Amari's confused stare and titled head, he sighed and elaborated a bit. "You know... Like your rank..." Sebastion then stepped up, "Stars are the ranking system guard's use. It starts at one star and goes up to five stars. Do you know what star you are?" Amaris eyes shone in recognition. "Oh yeah, I hear of that. I don't know what star I am. I haven't gotten it checked." Aaron sighs. "Looks like we're about to see," he said, dragging Amari to sum gang members with Sebastion following behind. "What star are you and Sebastion?" Amari asked, "Sebastion is a high star 2 and I'm a star 3." "If the star system goes up to five than..." Amari's eyes widened and she looked at Aaron shocked, "What the -" "Here's what's about to happen. I will be having you fight some people to determine your star ranking. ok?" Amari shook off the shock and nodded. "Ok. Can I use my daggers?" "Nope, you'll be using the training spear," Aaron said with a smile on his face. "But I'm better with—" "Alright! Let's get you started with a high star 1!" Sebastion sent her a sheepish smile and said, "There's no use trying." Amari sighed, "Great."

Standing across Amari was a gang member holding a spear. Amaris hold on to her spear tighten. "Alright begin!" Aaron shouted. The gang member ran up to Amari, swinging wide. Amari blocked it. As they fought, Amari was thinking of a way to end it. "I only picked up a spear today. So, he's better with a spear." Just as the gang member swung wide at her side, causing her to block from that, Amari got an idea. "I could use that to my advantage... I need him to swing wide again. I'll bait him." She charged forward in a stabbing motion. The gang member dodged to the side and swung wide just as Amari wanted. She jumped up, surprising the one star, and hit his shoulder with her spear, causing him to drop his spear. "Are you alright?" Amari asked, and he nodded. "Yep, you got me good," he said as he held his shoulder. They shook hands as Aaron came up to them. He turned to the gang member, "Go get that wrapped, ok?" The gang member nodded and walked off as Aaron put a hand on Amari's shoulder. "Let's get you moved to a low two-star."

The low-two star stood across Amari as Aaron shouted, "Start!" Amari dogged a hit and tried to counter, but the girl was pushing her back. "She's definitely more skilled using a spear than me," Amari swung, but the girl blocked and tilted Amari's spear away and was about to strike, but Amari dogged just in time. They both swung at the same time, hitting each other's spear, causing Amari's spear to go flying. Aaron walked up to them. "Seems you're a low two-star," Amari shook her head. "That wasn't accurate." "How so?" "I just started practicing with a spear today, but if I use my daggers, it would be more accurate," Aaron hummed. Sebastion came up behind him. "We do need to see what rank she's accurately at," Aaron sighed. "Fine, go grab your daggers." Amari looked at him then pulled her daggers out of seemingly nowhere.

Amari held her daggers in front of her. She smirked a bit at the familiar weight. "Start!" Aaron shouted. This time they both charged at the same time, clashing. The girl swung, but Amari dogged and attacked back. They exchanged blows before the girl jumped up and attacked from above. Amari blocked, and the girl flipped around and tried to attack her from behind, but Amari dogged and knocked her spear out of her hand. The girl fell to the ground, and as Amari was helping her up, Aaron came up to them and said, "Good spar you too! Your good to go," Aaron said to the girl, who nodded to them and walked away.

The middle two star charged at her. Amari had to block, and using one of her daggers, she swung at him, causing him to back up. Amari tried to hit him, but he blocked. He tried to hit her legs, but she jumped up and sent one of her daggers at him. He dogged, and Amari dropped behind him and grabbed her dagger that she sent down and attacked. He blocked and backed up and swung the spear at her, and she ducked and tried to attack his legs, but he jumped up and tried to kick her, but she blocked and swung one of her daggers at his ankle, and he pulled back just in time. They both backed up and circled each other. They were both breathing hard and had their weapons in their hands. They have been doing this for a bit now and seemed evenly matched. They were about to charge at each other again when they heard "Stop!" They both turned their heads to Aaron. "You both seem evenly matched," he said as Sebastion nodded. "If you both continued, it would turn into a battle to see which one of you would pass out first." Amari lowered her daggers and nodded to the middle two star who nodded back. Aaron patted her on the back. "So, your rank is a middle two star," Amari nodded. "Even if I were fully healed, I would probably be the same rank." "I had a feeling you were a two star. Anyway, rest up a bit because next you're going to spar with me." Aaron's smile had a bit of mischievous added to it. Amari sweatdropped, "Great, just great."
