Frailty of Trail

Eve realized my presence and asked, "What's up, Sunny?"

"It's about Ginto. Have you heard anything from him yet?" I pondered, worried.

"It's Ginto we're talking about, but still, losing someone you love is painful. I wish we could be there by his side to support him," she explained.

"Do you know where he usually goes when he wants to get away from everything?" I sat next to Eve.

"Unfortunately, no. He rarely talks about himself. What about you? Do you have any idea where he might be right now?"

"I don't, but I do know a way to find him. Do you have something that is closely related to him? His hair, his personal belongings?" I asked, which made Eve confused.

Nevertheless, she replied as she fished out a green handkerchief from her bag, "I borrowed his handkerchief the other way. I was planning to return it."

"Great. Follow me." I snatched the handkerchief and left the room hastily. Eve followed from behind.

We then left the building.

"What are you planning?" Eve asked curiously.

"You'll know! Come on, hop on." I created a hoverboard after taking a puff. Eve jumped on and it immediately flew to the distance.

It didn't take long before we reached our destination. We float outside a hotel's room. I knocked a few times and Yin Her opened the window.

"You're back." She was surprised.

"I'll not stay for long. Find me the location of the handkerchief's owner." I lent her the green handkerchief. Eve was intrigued about the girl. How would she find Ginto with only a handkerchief?

"No problem." Yin Hee accepted the handkerchief and retreated back to the middle of the hotel. She sat on top of the bed and snapped her fingers. Flame appeared around her.

I waited outside the hotel and observed the surroundings. I found Calvin sleeping on the carpet floor with books about animals next to him.

I turned my sight to Yin Hee. The air around her slowly changed. I felt eyes were peering through me, looking at my deepest secrets. It felt uncomfortable.

"What is she doing?" Eve asked curiously.

"Locating Ginto." I replied briefly. Just after I said so, Yin Hee had already finished doing her ritual.

She gave me the handkerchief back and said, "Your friend is at Avalon."

"Thank you." I gave her a nod and retrieved the handkerchief back. After which, she grabbed my hand firmly. I frowned as I asked, "What are you doing?" when all of a sudden, I saw a vision.

It was a factory near a river. At the side of the river, a man could be seen sitting, looking at the distance. His gaze looked lonely and far away. The vision vanished.

I looked at Yin Hee as she retracted her hand from me.

"Why didn't you do that when we first met?" I asked, confused.

"Because I was nervous around you and forgot that I could use it. Sorry." She apologized.

"So, where is Ginto?" Eve inquired before I could say anything.

"Do you know somewhere in Avalon with a factory and near a river?" I pondered Eve.

"That's pretty much Avalon! Be more specific, Sunny! Is there a hint from the factory you see? A name, or landmark nearby maybe?" Eve increased her voice slightly.

"You should check the west side of Avalon. The factory looks like it was built by a well known bread company." Yin Hee suggested.

"Alright, thank you, Yin Hee." I smiled and just as I was about to go.

"Wait a second, Sunny. Who is she? She's beautiful? She can't be your girlfriend, right?"

"No! Could you hurry up?" Eve replied in my stead. Hearing she said no without hesitation kind of hurts my heart.

The hoverboard soars through the sky in an instant. It didn't take long to arrive.

Avalon, a district filled with factories and also where most food came from. You could see the farm far away from the factories, and the farm animals not far from them.

Smoke came out of these factories, only to be sucked by vents on the ceiling.

We flew just above them. The air was dirty and we coughed once in a while. It is even worse when your five senses are enhanced.

Factory as far as the eye can see. The land was desolate with no life. Trucks with goods come and go from the factory.

River containing factory waste flowed to god knows where. It stretched out to the entire Avalon.

While watching the scenery, we still kept in mind Ginto. We followed the trails of the river, observed each factory and matched it to the vision.

"They all look the same. This is no different than looking for a needle in a hay. How are we going to find him?" Eve sighed and continued, "We also need to go back."

Eve's complaint was reasonable. Each factory has the same design from one another with the river either next to it or behind it, we couldn't find the one that matched with the vision.

I closed my eyes to remember the vision again. Ginto was sitting facing the river with a factory on the other side of the river. The river was stretched long with no curves.

Something stands out… I need to find it. What about the factory, does it have anything peculiar? No, it looked normal.

The environment around Ginto? I could see grass and a tree just next to the river. Nothing special to see.

I opened my eyes in realization, and created a huge amount of smoke after taking a puff. I spread it throughout Avalon. The smoke was a part of my body, and I could 'see' what it shrouded. Not clear vision, but like how blind people associated things with color.

I see a red dot. It flickers like a candle in a windy storm.

A man sat alone on the soft patch of grass. River flowed smoothly and you could hear the water running. If only birds were here, it'd make the scene perfect.

As the man fell into his thoughts, a rough wind came. The man's hair danced crazily. His clothes fluttered. The grass swayed about. The tree not far away, its branches moved frantically.

The man looked at the source. He saw two people above a hoverboard made of smoke. Floating above smoke, it looked like as though they came from a fairy tale.
