Dark Night

This orphanage was a peculiar one. It housed orphans of course, 30 orphans to be exact, ages ranging from 4 to 17. The five older ones however were special.

They were awakened. But of course they were by accompanied a special caregiver as well, in any case can a mundane human really prove to be sufficient in taking care of awakened. They couldn't take that risk.

So they hired the hag to care of them. She trained and raised them well. Helping them control there powers and deal with their flaws. As well as teaching the younger ones in the process. For 12 fruitful years she became their guardian.

So the orphans weren't surprised when she suddenly showed her awakened strength and speed. Quickly she used her essence empowered strength to rescue the paralysed and hiding children, whilst doing a head count.

Accompanied by Finsley and the older kids they got the job done in below 2 seconds.

However she's missing a child.

'Shin..'

"Shin!! Where the hell are you!"

She looked throughout the house with her aspect that gives her vision in places where she has visited. Kinda like a marked cctv.

Room after room even checking the outside garden and shed.

'where the hell is this kid..'

"Everyone proceed to the path to the town. I've already called the sect. All you need to do is sprint to the town and be safe.

She then went out the collapsed building. With mere seconds left before impending doom.

She then gestured for her two awakened children to manage the children that are escaping the other three to delay the abominations. Among the escaping children Finsley and Jhaun could be seen in its left edge.

"Have you seen Tooly?"

"No I left through one of the windows. I was probably the first one to leave."

"Bloody spell, we need to find him!"

"Wait.."

"What do you mean wait!?"

"I think I know where he is. He's probably getting his belongings. You know how he is. That greedy bastard."

They diverted from the path and went on the opposite flow. They soon reached the porch of the fence and witnessed a nerve-wracking scene contrasted by the rustic bulding.

The willow tree swayed, it's snowy leaves rustled as the winds whispered throughout.

Immediately after the gate appeared, Shin hurried to go get all his belongings in his secret room found in the basement.

'Crappity crappy crap. Shittington shittily shitted shit. Why were there no alerts anywary!! Kuso! , yawa! , bugger!, fuck...'

He went as quickly as he could cursing in his thoughts along the way. With adrenaline pumping within, he ran faster than ever even faster than the rascal has managed to be.

Finally arriving. He then pulled a secret tug thus revealing a small fort made out of the unused objects kept in the basement. Grabbing his bag full of cherished goods.

He sprinted towards salvation...

As he quickly ran up the stairs. Strange noises could be heard. He then realised that they've already arrived. He couldn't care though. Dauntless he saw the exit, he saw hope he his mother figure waiting and preparing for something.

He ran with all his might and will sweating buckets across the hall. He kept eye contact with the hag's shocked eyes, however he shouldn't have done that. Seeing that the hag's expression turned into worry and dread.

He was done for. As a looming figure suddenly appeared from nowherebehind him. It towered over him 3 meters high it was, skinny, lanky, jet black with a face of only purple eyes. It tried to grasp and twist Shin's neck however it was suddenly stopped. One of the older kids protected Shin. She batted the creatures attempt with her sword. And the creature's hands flew up in the air and suddenly shot towards the girl.

Shin hastily escaped the doorway and jumped over the stairs. Landing beside her Caregiver, and glanced at her with an apologetic and glad expression.

"Go! Follow the path and run! As fast as you can go!"

"Don't die mom. I love you."

"I'm not a mother. I'm a sister. Now go!"

Tears streaked across his face. With glistening eyes he saw his two brothers wearing a dreadful expression.

He then shouted

"Run! Let's run! Don't let their sacrifice be in vain!"

Behind him a fierce battle happened between seven versus three. The former humanoids the latter humans

Finsley spared a glance with a somber face to the remaining three awakened. He was still and silent and followed Tooly's orders.

Jhaun was already running

***

In the middle of the wilderness they ran as they gasped for air, their breaths made apparent by the cold atmosphere.

With enough distance and easiness

Finsley opened his mouth but failed to let out a sound.

Then suddenly his eyes were attracted by movement and noise.

Among the trees a dark skinned man wearing a dark violet feathered trench coat grappling across sprinting, dashing, jumping and swinging with a feathered umbrella. TIme to time the tip disconnected grappling with each branch, as the feathered tail on his back freely caressed the wind.

Horrified from his resemblances with the creatures from before. Jhaun gestured to crawl and be stealthy.

Finsley then asked in a whisper.

"What are you doing?"

In the same volume but with an irritated tone

"I'm crouching, can't you see? You guys should follow suit! That's the same creature from before! Are you blind mate?!"

Discarded the previous volume and replaced it with a loud and mad voice

"You bloody bogan. That's Transcendent Resh, Violet Rain! have you forgotten?! That's the leader of the Umbrella Sect!? Racist twat."

"Oh.."

Jhaun's flustered face slowly turned delighted.

"We're saved."

Shin remained silent wearing an unreadable facade.

'Please be there in time. Save them . Save me..violent rain.'
