Welcome to Darkmoon Academy

The rays of the setting sun shone it's orange hue over the Darkmoon's land, named after the great academy that stood strong on it for over three hundred years.

Watching the island from the skies, everyone had their jaws dropped. They did think that getting on the journey to their dreams would be beautiful, they never imagined it would look so heavenly.

On the island which had a hill at its centre, trees with leaves of various colours and flowers with the most beautiful blooms they had ever set eyes on flourished.

From the sides of the hill, two waterfalls flowed down into a river that flowed into the ocean leaving an endless sound of peaceful waters crashing against rocks and sounds of splashing resounding the place.

The academy was built before the hill. Its seven towers could be seen from anywhere on the island. Each with glistening purple gems atop its head which held flags of the Crimson empire - a white flag with a red dove holding an olive branch in its mouth.

On either side of the academy were the tallest trees in the land. Two on each side. Its leaves of red, pink and yellow colours swayed back and forth from the cool breeze that always visited the land.

Winds caused waves to crash against the shores. Little ones that stayed in the settlement rode on pegasi as they wished with glee. Wyverns flew over to their masters who successfully tamed them. Magical beasts like a cat with flames for fur resting on its master's head. An overly large butterfly flying to an equally overgrown beautiful flower with bright pink petals.

The floor path was made with cobblestones that changed colour with the weather. As it got cooler, they shone a light blue.

Letters delivered themselves. The only mode of land transportation was by different sized wooden caterpillars with several colours.

Off to the side, a man was feeding his overly large pet parrot. Its feathers flowed and dimmed as it ate.

"Oh my god."

"T-This, this is Darkmoon." Kiyan muttered looking around as he looked into the gates of the academy.

"Are you crying?" Raten tilted his head at Jarett who sniffled with tears in the corner of his eyes.

"It's just too beautiful!" He said and blew his nose into a small piece of cloth.

"I can't believe I was willing to miss this." Enoe gasped in awe.

The academy was three times the size of Raldon's Knight academy. Its dark walls had beautiful green radiating gems surrounding the base like flowers..

Thirty-six wizards that flew in with the children stepped in first, then they followed.

They looked around the wide courtyard. In the centre was a walk path made of cobblestones while around it was a field with bright green grass and a tree in its centre. The wizards kept walking in the straight path towards the school's building.

Some students moved in hurried steps behind them. Some moved slowly taking in the sight of the place while others moved anxiously.

As they got closer to the two brown coloured doors with dragon designed door knobs, the doors pushed back and opened up with a roar. Those who had their sights elsewhere immediately looked forward. Those in front were awestruck by the beauty of the inside and they hadn't even stepped in yet.

"Follow calmly." Every student had these two words whisper in their ears and they obeyed.

Setting foot into the building, they looked around for a while.

"It's, it's magnificent." A student said looking up at the ceiling.

They stood in an open area which had different paths. Few steps from were they all stood were two staircases leading up. To the left and right were different paths that led someplace else passing underneath the steps.

"Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming"

From the ceiling hung a beautiful chandelier that had several golden orbs floating around it acting as a source of light. The windows on the walls, above and below allowed for the sunset rays to enter the school's buildings as well as cool breeze which were almost unending due to the nearby waterfalls and trees. Even inside, they could still hear the sounds of water splashing.

The floor and walls were designed with aesthetic paintings.

Once the wizards resumed walking, the children followed. They walked underneath the stairs and straight down the hall till they eventually took a left into a door that led into what seemed like an auditorium.

"Please, have your seats as you enter." A wizard said and they listened, filling up the seats from front almost to the last one.

They all whispered amongst each other excitedly. As they sat in anticipation in the poorly lit room. All thirty-six wizards stood on either side of the auditorium with their arms behind their backs and their cloaks over their heads. Suddenly, the room lit up with a bright purple glow as an orb appeared over their heads close to the ceiling emanating glorious light.

"Eeeeek!" Some of them shrieked.

White light then situated on the stage from the same purple orb. Naturally everyone kept quiet with their focus on the stage.

One, two, three, four, five wizards, all dressed in their signature cloaks stepped out with a staff in hand that had a crystal at its head.

Every wizard present offered a bow as soon as those wizards stepped on stage. The wizard elders stood in front of the students, an appearance that hadn't been made on the first day to any student in hundreds of years.

The wizard in the middle placed his staff in front of him and tapped it three times silencing every whisper that erupted from the crowd. His face was barely visible due to his hood, but his grin was clearly seen.

"For the first time in hundreds of years, the elder wizards are atop this stage in front of newly admitted passionate boys and girls who have made it into the walls of this academy." The elder began.

"Let me formally say," he spread his arms wide and said, "Welcome to Darkmoon Academy!"

The students cheered and clapped as floating silhouettes of men and women that seemed to be wizards, past wizards to take a guess, flew around the room. They went up the ceiling and then exploded into tiny golden dusts that fell onto the students.

The students were the happiest they had ever been.
