CHAPTER 36

And so we begin. With the items she bought Blanca thought me how to create healing portions, amplifying portions, casting spells and making enchantments. She gave me some of the spells book she had in her possessions and said I should read them in my spare time.

She thought me runes and what they symbolize. How to draw them with the magic ink and how to activate them with my powers. Along with every other things a white witch ought to know about, it was now left for me to keep practicing and perfecting my skills. It wasn't easy with the portion making as I kept combining the wrong ingredients but I was good with the runes. I learned the invisibility runes first as I had plans to terrorize Oliver in the future.

It was evening when she said we should stop for the day and rest to continue the next morning after bathing in the radiance of the morning sun.

It felt amazing to finally know something, truly, I can't wait to learn and know more. I might not be very good with portion making but I can use the healing runes in its place for now. Not that I won't learn them, but I need something I can activate immediately when the need arises. We walked out of the room to eat dinner with the rest at the traven.

After which I took a long relaxing bath and washed away all the dirt from my skin. I know I am not taking care of myself as a girl, I will try better, after all what is a good witch without a sweet scent.

Speaking of scent, where is mine. Blanca told me that Mr. Sullivan used a spell to hid my scent so that those bastard fire breathing creatures don't track me down. I would love to learn that also, I want to know everything.

Once done with the bath, I wore my sleeping clothes and lay down on the bed to sleep. I tried so hard but my brain kept replaying the incident that occured this morning between Oliver and I. His voice kept ringing in my ears and the humiliation didn't cease, I closed my eyes and covered my ears with my hands but it didn't stop. Every part of my body hated the way he treated me and I plan to pay him back in kine. An eye for an eye.

The next morning, Blanca woke me up just when the sun was about to rise and took me outside. We sat on a tree branch that I command to take us high as I wanted to see the sun rise. Today we continue from where we stopped yesterday, are you ready? Blanca asked but before I could answer, I noticed a movement in the distance, look Blanca, the search team are back I said pointing to the direction in which they were coming from.

And with Nadia, Blanca said joyful, I prayed to Gaia everyday that she make it back alive. Nadia is the closest I have to a sister and I don't know what I would have done if she didn't make it back. Quick, let's help them she said as she jumped down and landed on the ground safely. Jump she shouted at me but I didn't. Am scared of height I responded as the tree began dropping me down slowly.

We both ran towards the crew and for the first time, I met Nadia, the girl that risked her life for mine even when she didn't know me.

She had her hand round Jakes neck as she appeared to be limping. She had a cloth round her thighs which was soaked in her own blood. She looked weak and didn't even notice me as she had her eyes half open and close with her head hung down.

Blanca hurried to her left side and threw Nadia's left hand round her neck and kept whispering in her ear, it's gonna be okay now, hang in there for me a little while and I will fix you up, I promise. I felt useless as I followed behind them till we got to the traven. Blanca and Jake took Nadia to our room and put her down gently on the bed.

Thankfully we had gone to the market and gathered those items as Blanca started making healing portion for Nadia.

Try using your powers to ease her pains and keep her awake so I can feed her the portion once it's ready.

I walked close to Nadia and sat close to her. If I say I know what I am doing now, then I definitely would be lying, neither the less, I put both my hands on her chest just like the little girl did me when I was ill with those creatures black smoke killing me from inside slowly. I closed my eyes and felt the energy of nature, I draw the energy to my self with my mind and after a while I began directing it to palms placed on Nadia's chest. I felt my palm warm up gradually so I thought I was doing it right, I kept channeling the energy and let it flow through me to Nadia without loosing concentration. After a little while, I heard the clanging of a bowl on the floor and opened my eyes to see what fell down but was met with the surprising eyes of everyone and their mouth hang open. What happened? I asked myself as their reaction was a bit too much, did I do something wrong?

I turned slowly towards Nadia and what I saw made me question myself. Did I do this I asked looking at Blanca and she nodded her head slowly. The pale and dead looking skin of Nadia that was as a result of loosing so much blood was now lively and she appeared to be sleeping soundly like a baby in her cradle without a care of what's happening around her.

You heal her with your magic, now am certain that you are a descendant of the old, your magic, it's unique. Again no normal white witch has ever Heal anyone completely like you just did. This is incredible! Blanca hugged me and said thank you for helping her.

Wow! I felt joy in my heart that at least I was not utterly useless like Oliver proclaimed. I can heal someone with my magic, this means I don't necessarily need to learn that healing portion again right? I asked myslef inwardly.
