Alex sat cross-legged on the floor of her small room, head bowed and eyes downcast. Mangled insects littered the floor around her, yet she remained unmoved.Alex's gaze pierced the faint outline of the floor beneath her, even the floor below that. She could see the outlines of the stairs, the mundane furniture—in her perception, they had lost their solidity. However, she could not penetrate the dense, tightly packed fog of dark mist that obscured the entire first floor and at least half of the ground floor, concealing the kitchen and those within. On the unobstructed half, she easily discerned the colorful mana structures of the people there—some dense, others faint—and from these, she could interpret their actions.Yet, no matter the angle, she could not see past the barrier surrounding where the Duchy's library should have been.
