"That sounded intense," Lei Yuanyun remarked, his voice low.

"Yeah, more family politics," I muttered, glancing toward Professor Wang across the room. He was speaking with a few other professors, looking every bit the academic, but I couldn't shake the feeling that he was here for more than just pleasantries.

I turned back to him and noticed he was eating a melon.

"Where did you even get that?!"

He smiled innocently and offered me a bite. I shook my head to express my refusal and he continued eating with gusto.

"Your family dynamics is way more interesting than a lot of series I've watched."

I looked at him with a raised brow and he persuaded me in a rather perfunctory way

"Ah don't worry about it. It's just a little bit of drama"

I rolled my eyes and looked away. He walked closer to me

"Do you think anyone else will come here? For example that professor Wang?"

"Just say you're eager for gossip."
