Chapter 8 Dorry And Brogy

He truly was a giant. Just a simple laugh from him could stir up strong winds!

On Gnar's small fishing boat's deck, both Nico Robin and Zala were stunned, a few drops of cold sweat on their foreheads as they gazed at the two giants before them, towering like mountains and casting shadows that covered the sun.

The giants exchanged looks and roared joyously.

"You're interested too, Brogy!"

"And you, Dorry? It's been years, I've almost forgotten the smell of wine!"

Laughter

More laughter

The giants shared another hearty laugh.

Struggling against the strong wind, Robin shielded her eyes with her hands and exclaimed in amazement,

"Are these the strongest warriors of Elbaf's Warrior Village: Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy?"

"Oh!"

The laughing giants were slightly surprised to hear their names and titles called out. They lowered their massive heads, looking curiously at Nico Robin with eyes as large as lanterns.

"You know about us, little human girl?"

"It's been years since anyone mentioned our names!"

It was quite overwhelming to have such huge men standing before her. Robin composed herself and said,

"No... It's not me who knows you two, but my captain: Gnar!"

"Oh!?"

The giants looked at Gnar standing on the deck again. They seemed to understand something. Their noses twitched, then they frowned, their expressions turning serious.

"I see. Are you here specifically to find me and Brogy, young human?"

"And bring so much wine!"

"Yes!"

Gnar did not deny his purpose, staring at the two burly giants and stating,

"I came hoping to strike a deal with you both..."

"Sorry, I refuse!"

"Me too..."

Before Gnar could finish his words, Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy grinned and decisively rejected him.

Though Gnar had anticipated resistance, he didn't expect to be shut down before finishing his pitch.

"Why? Won't you even listen to me..."

Laughter

Dorry, wearing a strange helmet and wielding a large sword, chuckled as he explained,

"No, as much as I yearn for the taste of wine, the greatest warriors of our mighty Elbaf Warrior Village won't forsake their warrior pride for mere temptation."

Brogy, with a horn-like helmet and a hefty axe, also laughed and said,

"Kabab, we'd do anything for a friend, but not for this..."

With that said, the two giants stood and began to leave in opposite directions without hesitation.

This left Gnar at a loss, and he could only turn to Robin for help.

Seeing this, Robin knew it was time to intervene.

"Please wait..."

Robin's voice halted both giants, but they remained resolute.

"Sorry, young girl. Elbaf's warriors value true friendship, not those with ulterior motives."

"No..."

Robin shook her head, hesitated, and spoke slowly.

"I just want to ask, do you know a giant named Saul?"

"Saul?"

This name surprised the giants, who shook their heads.

"Sorry, never heard that name?"

"!!!"

This answer caught Robin off guard. After a moment, she continued,

"What about Jaguar D. Saul!?"

At the mention of this surname, both Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy widened their eyes.

"Jaguar!?"

"D!"

Seeing the giants' shocked expressions, Robin asked in confusion,

"Do you know something?"

Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy's expressions grew serious, and they leaned in towards Robin.

"Jaguar... D... Is that a surname only our Elbaf Giant King's royal family can have?"

"!? Elbaf Giant Country, not Elbaf Warrior Village?"

Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy exchanged glances before stating,

"Now that you know this surname, we can consider ourselves friends for now!"

"Pack your things and come with us!"

In Little Garden, at the heart of the dense ancient forest, lay a vast clearing.

Here, Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy had battled for the past century. After tens of thousands of skirmishes, this place had become a forbidden zone on the entire island, feared even by beasts.

Laughter

More laughter

Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy joyfully emptied buckets of wine provided by Gnar, their laughter echoing through the clearing.

As he finished his drink, Blue Ogre Dorry wiped his mouth and turned to Robin with a meaningful look.

"Young girl, what is your connection with that giant named Saul?"

Robin looked pained. Although it was a past she preferred not to revisit, she briefly recounted meeting Saul as a child and the tragedy of Ohara's destruction.

"Buster Call!?"

At the mention of these three words, even Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy's expressions darkened, and they roared in disgust.

"Even after a hundred years, the World Government's methods remain unchanged!"

"That boy Saul hasn't forgotten his Elbaf warrior's pride!"

"Cheers, cheers, cheers..."

With that, they downed three more barrels of wine, their moods lifted.

Seeing this, Robin couldn't help but voice her curiosity.

"So, what does this 'D' surname actually signify?"

Blue Ogre Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy exchanged looks before Dorry spoke up.

"Isn't it a surname reserved for our Elbaf Giant Kingdom's royal family?"

"!? Isn't it the Elbaf Warrior Village?"

Red Ghost Brogy shook his head.

"Elbaf, the island where we giants reside, is vast. It's not just our Warrior Village; there's also the Elbaf Giant Kingdom. Though our relations aren't cordial."

"Could Saul be a member of the Giant Kingdom's royal family?"

Robin was taken aback by this revelation.

Dorry added with a hint of intrigue,

"But what's truly odd? If he bears a royal surname, why did Saul join the World Government and become a Marine?"

Puzzled, Robin asked,

"Why do you ask?"

Dorry grinned and glanced at Robin from the corner of his eye.

"Young human girl, do you know what 'D' stands for?"

Robin was stunned and about to ask more questions, but Dorry redirected his attention to Gnar.

"Young human girl, given your ties to our giant clan and your life being safeguarded by that lad Saul to the death, you are a friend to our giant clan, and thus to me and Brogy. So tell me, what is your relationship with that human lad..."

Robin was taken aback again and responded without hesitation,

"Gnar-kun is my captain."

Unfortunately, this answer didn't seem to satisfy the two giants. They stared at Robin with wide eyes.

"Just your captain?"

"!!!"

Robin found their reaction puzzling.

Though she didn't fully grasp the giants' rhetorical question, she mulled it over.

She glanced at Gnar, her thoughts swirling as she recalled past experiences.

After a long pause, she finally spoke again, her voice soft.

"Gnar-kun... he's... like... family to me."
