Chapter 19 Seastone

Under the bright sunshine, Gnar, Robin, and Zala worked hard in the Little Garden at the stern of the ship.

The two ladies did not shy away from the scorching sun above their heads. They enthusiastically planted flowers, saplings, and various seeds. Gnar handled the physical tasks, including cultivating the fields and carrying water and fertilizer.

The Little Garden was not very large, but it took the two ladies a whole morning to organize it neatly.

Both Robin and Zala were very enthusiastic, watering the pots and adding the final touches.

However, while the two ladies were busy, they subconsciously avoided Gnar's position. This wasn't because they were dissatisfied with their captain, but because the pair of black shackles on Gnar's arms exuded a lethargic aura that made them uneasy.

Of course, they couldn't help but express their concern and ask questions.

"How are you adapting to the Seastone, Gnar?" Robin asked.

Gnar walked out of the cabin with a big bucket of water in his arms, shook the Seastone shackles on his hands, making a clear sound, and answered, "It's not bad. I've adapted to it, and it has no impact on my normal life."

This surprised both Robin and Zala.

Both of them knew about the existence of Seastone. Robin had heard about it from Gnar, and Zala knew about it through her time as an agent of Baroque Works.

But neither of them had ever really come into contact with Seastone. So, after they boarded the new ship and saw the Seastone handcuffs on Gnar, they both wanted to try them out.

Then they regretted it.

The feeling of being so weak that they couldn't even lift a finger frightened them.

And the natural restraint exuded by Seastone made them vow to stay away from the shackles in the future.

But it was such a terrifying Seastone that it only took Gnar, the captain, one morning to adapt to it.

"It's incredible!" Robin said with some admiration.

Miss Zala wiped the sweat from her forehead and agreed, "I've also heard that Seastone is the nemesis of Devil Fruit powers. This kind of restraint is almost absolute. I didn't expect you, Gnar, to be able to adapt to it."

"Bang..."

As Gnar placed the bucket next to the Little Garden, feeling the same powerlessness in his body as when he first traveled to this world, he smiled and said, "Just adapting isn't enough. I have to gain enough strength to confront Seastone."

"Confront it?!" Both ladies were surprised.

"Yes. In that case, even if I can't touch Haki, it can still promote the growth of my body's strength."

Robin's expression became slightly solemn.

She knew how powerful Gnar was, not only because of the existence of his mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit but also his terrifying physical power.

He was the strongest being she had ever witnessed, a nightmare deep in her memory.

Even two Admirals weren't much compared to him.

She had also witnessed Gnar defeat a Sea King. The Sea King, as large as a mountain, had its head punched through by Gnar.

But Gnar, who possessed such powerful strength, felt an urgent need to grow stronger since entering the Grand Line. This indicated that they would face many obstacles and terrifying enemies in the future.

Especially with her, the son of the devil, on board...

The Poneglyphs were something the World Government tried every means to cover up...

Unlike Robin's solemn expression, Zala gritted her teeth and spoke with some confusion, "Why do we have to fight, Gnar? With your current strength, there's no need to take such risks. Although I know you're confident, the BOSS isn't that simple. Let's find a safe place. With your power, we can live peacefully together for a lifetime..."

Zala's heartfelt words surprised and moved Gnar.

Her concern for him, like a lover's, touched him.

If he hadn't been wearing Seastone at this moment, he would have really wanted to hold Zala in his arms and kiss her.

At this moment, Robin suddenly spoke to Zala.

"I'm sorry, Zala, there's actually something the captain and I have been hiding from you."

"???"

Zala was stunned, and an inexplicable uneasiness emerged in her heart.

"It's just a pity, Zala, I still can't tell you what this matter is. Because if you knew, it wouldn't do you any good. Instead, you would be wanted by the World Government just like me."

Zala, being an intelligent agent of Baroque Works, understood that being wanted by the World Government wasn't just a simple Marine bounty order but an obliteration order from the World Government.

"Is this related to the BOSS's plan?" she asked.

Robin smiled mysteriously. "Of course. Otherwise, why would Crocodile ask you to catch me?"

Zala suddenly looked even more uneasy.

Although she didn't know about the Poneglyphs, she understood that the BOSS's plan was not a trivial matter.

She thought for a while, looked up at Gnar, gritted her teeth, hesitated, and then asked, "Can I quit?"

Robin didn't speak but looked at Gnar.

"Of course!" Gnar nodded decisively. "I can find a safe island and leave you there, but..."

Gnar then smiled. "Zala, you are already my woman. Don't think about running away. I will come back to pick you up after Robin and I finish our work in Alabasta..."

Zala's face stiffened, and she complained, "Then does it make any difference whether I quit or not?"

As long as she returned to Gnar, she would definitely be noticed by the BOSS and the World Government.

But, inexplicably, she felt relieved.

"It's not abandonment!"

Thinking of this, she said helplessly, "I understand. Robin, can you tell me your plan? I am much more familiar with Alabasta than you are."

Both Gnar and Robin smiled.

Robin said, "Thank you so much. My plan is very simple. I need to enter Alabasta's palace and find something inside..."

"Sure enough, it's not a simple matter."

As an agent of Baroque Works, Zala quickly came up with an idea after knowing Robin's destination.

"I suggest we split into two groups."

"Split into two groups?" Gnar asked.

"That's right. The BOSS has had a plot against Alabasta for a long time. He knows Alabasta very well, including the palace, and he knows a secret way to enter the kingdom. I can take Robin to sneak in, but..."

Gnar suddenly understood. "You need me to help you attract attention..."
