Chapter 9 -Business Deal

Adonis Vivaldi

I held my palm up to shield against the glaring lights.

It obscured me from looking at her face.

I couldn't help but wonder why she was crouched in such a peculiar way.

"Are you alright" I asked softly, moving closer when i got no reply.

She simply just stared at me.

As much as i loved the feeling of her eyes on me, i wanted to know if she was alright.

"Yavannah" i called out, watching as she shook at the sound of her name.

"Oh" Her pretty lips sounded out. Her eyes immediately left mine , scanning across her body

My eyes scanned over her appearance , biting back a scowl at the sight of her pale skin. She was clad in a white tee and shorts. Quite underdressed to be sitting outside in this cold.

"Hi" she whispered with reddened cheeks as she settled back unto the porch.

"Hi" i whispered back , settling right next to her.

She didn't move away and i was glad for that.

"What are you doing outside in this cold weather, Salvatrice" i asked, watching her fumble to speak.

"I needed some fresh air" she replied, looking smaller than she already was.

A distant hint of sadness made its way to her eyes as she turned away from me, playing with the hem of her shorts.

"I trust that the air conditioner and windows in your house work quite alright " i replied dryly, pressing her subtly.

"Why are you here Mr. Vivaldi" she asked after a few seconds of silence.

My mouth moved on its own, spewing lies that i didn't need to think of. "I needed to collect a file from Yaskier".

A file that lay carelessly at the back seat of my car.

She cocked her head to the side as she rubbed her arms up and down.

"Yaskier's inside".

"Yaskier is the least of my concerns now". I replied to her announcement. Reaching out to pull of my blazer. Her eyes followed my every movement.

And I was the one accused of staring too much.

I rose to my feet , standing right between her legs.

The way she peered up at me sent dirty images through my mind. Images of her pretty and plump lips wrapped around my cock.

"What are you doing" She called out In suprise , sending my dirty thoughts to the depths of hell.

I wrapped the blazer around her frame before grabbing her cold and trembling fingers. I slipped them between the arm holes, Smirking in satisfaction as my blazer adorned her body.

She stared at me in bewilderment as I leaned closer to her. My cheek grazed hers in an attempt to pull her hair from between the blazer and her neck. Satisfied by my attempt when her hair fell across the blazer, away from her face.

I tried not to groan as the intoxicating smell of lavender filled up my nose. I hoped desperately within me that she wore my blazer long enough for her scent to imprint on it.

"Adonis" She called out softly making me turn to her. Her eyes seemed unsure as we stared at each other. They flickered all over my features before settling in my gaze.

I wanted to kiss her so bad. Her red and pouty lips looked beyond inviting. They shined like a drug and it was definitely not the good kind. It was the kind that once you had a taste, you'd never want to stop.

I leaned forward slowly , my eyes capturing her entire features, Even the distant and unnoticeable freckles that spread across the bridge of her nose.

I wanted so many things

But I wouldn't.

I pulled away first, settling back into my respective position.

The tension in the air was tangible. She pulled her knees closer to her chest.

"What's wrong?" I asked softly even though I already knew what was wrong.

"My dreams got crushed". She replied, twiddling her thumbs from beneath the enormous sleeves of my blazer.

"You really wanted to get into Yuliard?" I asked to which she nodded.

"Which one is your dream" I asked again. She stared back at me before attempting to speak.

" Is it getting into Yuliard or becoming a vocal coach" I clarified.

"Being a vocal coach ". She answered finally after thinking for a few seconds.

"You can do that with or without Yuliard". I stated.

"How's that possible" she asked, her tone a bit clipped.

"So you're saying all the vocal coaches in the world attended Yuliard". I asserted. Her shoulders dropped a bit in acceptance.

"You're limiting yourself , Yavannah" i continued. "There are so many routes that lead to the same destination".

"Because Yuliard has poor judgement and fail recognize talent doesn't mean the world would do the same".

"How do you know if I'm good or not, you've never heard me sing " She asked in bewilderment.

She didn't know that i extended my stay in New York for a month just to see her. During my stalker like visits to see her, i had stumbled upon her singing at a bar. She had to fill in for someone who didn't make it. The crowd was just as stunned as I was.

Well she didn't need to know. She would be scared of me if she found out.

"Intuition" i lied.

She nodded in satisfaction at my reply.

"Even if i was to forget about Yuliard, i didn't know where else to start from " She mumbled under her breath.

"I can help you with that".

Her head whipped to mine immediately, eyes begging me to explain.

"I recently launched an entertainment branch" i stated, watching as her eyes lit up in curiosity." I've got a hotel with an event hall where i would be holding all official business dinners and launching parties"

"You want me to perform there" she raised her eyebrows in disbelief.

"Yes". i paused. " Business is all about investing, Salvatrice".

She still seemed confused so i settled to breaking it down for her.

" If you are good, a whole lot of people would want to invest and to recruit you. For example, I don't know if you know Eric Turner" I asked, turning to look at her.

"Yes, I know him" she replied.

"Before he became famous, he played the piano at a jazz club that happened to hold a business meeting that day, he was scouted by an agent and he became the famous Eric Turner you know".

Her brown eyes widened in realisation as she nodded , trying to take the information in.

"And trust me love, if there's anything business men love more than money" i paused, allowing my words to sink in.

"It's investing".
