"Starting tonight, I'm living here." Rias's words, spoken with a casual smile, stunned Mika.
He initially thought she was joking. After all, she had been back for several days, showing no indication of such a plan.
But then he noticed the suitcase behind her.
She was serious...
He then remembered a similar event in the original story: Rias moving into Issei's home after he defeated Riser.
However—that had been because of Issei's heartfelt confession and his willingness to sacrifice everything for her, even offering his left arm to Ddraig—It was that devotion that had won her heart.
But in this altered timeline—Mika had defeated Riser. While Rias had been treating him kindly, he hadn't interpreted it as romantic interest.
"Buchou, what's going on?" he asked, puzzled.
"I told you, I'm staying here. Unless—you're not happy to see me?"
"Of course not!" He quickly stepped aside, allowing her to enter. "Please, come in, While still confused, he wouldn't turn her away.
"Thank you."
"Your apartment is surprisingly clean. I expected it to be—messier," she commented, looking around the living room.
"I'm quite tidy," Mika replied smoothly, hiding the fact that Gabriel and Alfia usually handled the cleaning.
Rias nodded, then glanced towards the kitchen. "Haven't you eaten yet?"
"I was about to start cooking."
"Perfect timing. I haven't eaten either. I'll take care of dinner." With that, she headed towards the kitchen.
Mika looked at her suitcase, then at Rias, now busy preparing dinner, and sighed. He understood; she wasn't leaving.
He couldn't exactly kick her out after she had cooked them a meal.
And Rias was stubborn; once she made up her mind, it was difficult to change it.
He would have to play along.
And as the saying went, "There's no such thing as a free lunch."—He was currently enjoying the benefits of being a Devil; he had to honor their agreement.
"Buchou, are you sure you want to stay here?" he asked one last time.
"Of course!" she called out from the kitchen.
He sighed and carried her suitcase to one of the spare bedrooms.
His apartment was spacious, with three bedrooms besides his own.
However, one was currently occupied by Gabriel, who had transformed it into her research lab. He wanted to prevent Rias from accidentally stumbling upon it.
"This is your room," he said, placing her suitcase inside.
"Thank you!"
Soon, a feast was laid out on the table. Mika, though secretly delighted, couldn't help but comment, "Isn't this a bit—much?"
"You train so hard, Mika. You need to eat more," she replied, sitting beside him and piling food onto his plate.
He could feel her affection in her every gesture.
"Thank you." He picked up his bowl and began eating. "I'll make sure to finish it all."
Rias smiled, watching him.
She enjoyed these moments.
…
"I'm stuffed—" After dinner, Mika returned to his room, rubbing his full stomach.
It reminded him of his time in Orario, surrounded by Culinary Masters like Mellie, Airmid, and Yahweh. He had never lacked for delicious food.
"I still don't understand what happened, but it seems Rias has—feelings for me." He couldn't help but smile wryly.
Unlike his relationships with Airmid and Mellie—he hadn't made any moves on Rias.
While she was undeniably beautiful, he was already—involved with Airmid and Mellie, and he had just returned from a long journey.
"I suppose—attractive people are always popular, regardless of the world."
He chuckled, then his smile faded. "But now that she's living here—things are going to get complicated."
"I'll just have to deal with it as it comes." He thought about the research he and Gabriel were conducting, the secrets hidden within his lab.
He had to find a way to get Rias out of his apartment.
Lost in thought, he drifted off to sleep.
....
He suddenly woke up, sensing someone entering his room.
It was Rias!
"Rias, what are you doing?" he asked as she slipped into his bed.
She didn't answer.
"Not going to say anything?" He pulled back the covers, and there she was—completely naked.
Although it was dark, and the room was unlit, Mika could see her clearly thanks to his [Enhanced Devil Vision]—which allowed him to see in the dark as if it were daylight. In fact, his vision was even Better at night.
Their eyes met—
"..."
Seeing that she had been discovered, Rias abandoned her pretense.
"I came to sleep," she said.
"I gave you a room," Mika replied, exasperated.
"But it's not comfortable. I wanted to… cuddle. Consider it a privilege of being my servant," she said with a playful grin—snuggling closer.
"Then where are your clothes? Even if you came to sleep, you should at least be wearing pajamas," he protested, flustered by her closeness.
"I sleep…naked," she whispered, her hand caressing his face, her smile widening as she enjoyed his flustered reaction.
"Rias, I'm a man," he sighed.
"Are you trying to seduce me?"
Her smile turned mischievous. "I wouldn't mind, you know. If that's what you want…"
He couldn't resist. He wasn't some naive, Inexperienced protagonist.
"Kyah!"
He pulled her closer, and she gasped in surprise as he took the lead.
The quiet night erupted into a symphony of passion...
....
....
The next morning—Occult Research Club.
Akeno, Yuuto, Koneko, and Asia sat in the clubroom, sipping tea and waiting for Rias. Their vacation had ended; it was time to return to school. They usually met at the clubroom every morning to discuss the day's tasks.
However, Rias hadn't arrived yet.
As for Mika? They were used to his absence.
Due to his intense training regimen and Rias rarely assigning him tasks, he often arrived late, sometimes not even showing up at all.
"It's almost time for class. Shouldn't Buchou be here by now?" Koneko asked, turning to Akeno. "Perhaps you should contact her."
"I suppose so." Akeno wasn't worried about Rias's safety; as a High-class Devil, only an Ultimate-class being could harm her without her noticing. And it was unlikely they would target Rias—the younger sister of Sirzechs Lucifer. She assumed Rias had simply been delayed.
However, she agreed they should contact her. They couldn't keep worrying.
She used a magic circle to contact Rias.
"I see—" she said with a smile, nodding. After ending the call, she addressed the others.
"Buchou is fine. She was simply—delayed and lost track of time. She said not to worry and to go to class. We'll resume our duties tomorrow."
"Understood!" Relieved, they were also secretly delighted by the unexpected day off.
Who wanted to work, after all?
They left the clubroom and headed towards their classrooms.
…
Meanwhile—at Mika's apartment.
Mika and Rias were enjoying breakfast together. He had prepared the meal himself.
After Akeno's call, Rias had woken up, and Mika, who could now sense even the slightest movements while sleeping, had also awakened.
Seeing her talking to Akeno, he had kissed her gently before getting out of bed to prepare breakfast. He couldn't let her, a newly—experienced young woman, cook.
However, to his surprise, she joined him in the kitchen. When he asked if she was feeling alright, she simply smiled and assured him she was fine.
Seeing her cheerful demeanor, he realized his mistake. Rias, as a powerful High-class Devil, wouldn't be affected by their—'activities'.
They prepared breakfast together, enjoying the comfortable silence between them.
After their meal, as Rias gazed at him with affection, Mika's expression turned serious.
"Rias, I have something important to tell you. But you mustn't reveal it to anyone, not even your parents or your brother."
Rias's playful mood vanished, replaced by a serious curiosity. "I understand. I won't tell anyone."
Mika nodded, satisfied, then revealed his secret: he was from another world.
After much deliberation, he had decided to tell her.
They were no longer just master and servant. And he trusted her implicitly.
He knew that if she promised to keep a secret, she would.
She was incredibly stubborn in that regard.
Besides, there was a more practical reason. Now that they were—involved, Rias would likely be staying at his apartment.
This would inevitably interfere with his and Gabriel's research. He couldn't exactly kick her out now. It was better to tell her the truth.
It would make things easier!
