The woman's eyes narrowed at Alex, committing his face and the scars around his body to her memory.
'Though it was only a little wave, he was able to resist it for a while.' She thought, her eyes flashing with a strange expression.
'That must be him right? Is that why 'he's' so interested in him?'
"That's good. Seems like they are all asleep." Tiery said, breaking her out of her thoughts.
Swiish!
He finally released Alex and Brad from the metal arms, and the two of them rapidly retracted into his back.
Thud!
With nothing holding them up again, their bodies dropped back to the ground with a soft sound.
Since his Zet rank wasn't lower than hers, he wasn't affected by the hypnosis in the slightest.
"Nice work, now let's pack them up." He muttered, turning to the lady before licking his lips lustfully.
The woman acted like she didn't see that, nodding her head gently.
"Ye—"
"Arrgh…" A low grunt unexpectedly sounded in the air, and her eyes widened in shock.
"I'm… not going… anywhere with you." Alex mumbled, slowly standing back up on his feet.
His head was ringing loudly, due to him resisting the hypnosis, and he felt like his head could explode any second from now.
He couldn't even see his surroundings, neither could he hear anything, except from that annoying, ringing noise.
All he knew was that something bad was about to happen, and he didn't want to be a part of it.
"W-what d—"
Thwack!!
Before he could even complete his words, Tiery swiftly appeared behind him, smacking him hard on the back of his head.
"Arrg…" Alex groaned, staggering on the ground with stars hovering all over his head.
Thud!
His body collapsed back to the ground, with blood gushing out of his head.
"Sorry about that, he's a stubborn one." Tiery said, with a wry smile on his face. 'I should I have expected this.'
"I-it's okay…" The woman replied, not knowing what else to say. If anything, she was more surprised at how hard Tiery hit Alex.
'Is he even alive… after that?' She wondered, narrowing her eyes at his unconscious body.
***
"Argh…" Alex let out a light groan, as he slowly opened his eyes. For some reason, the back of his head stung with pain, and all he could hear a loud ringing noise in his head.
The memories of what happened just before he lost consciousness suddenly flowed back into his head, causing his expression to twist into a deep frown.
"Tiery…" He mumbled, clenching his fists tightly in anger.
He didn't know how long he had been out for, but he could never forget the stupid face of that idiot, who mercilessly knocked him out.
It was then that he noticed the strange white ceiling above him… as well, the transparent glass in front of him.
He was lying down on a flat brown surface, with his whole body encapsulated within the white glass.
"Huh? A glass…? Where… the hell am I?" He muttered, blinking his eyes in confusion.
Through the glass, he could see a bunch of a weird people, walking around in white gowns and thick googles.
Some of them were holding a thin syringe, and they all went about their business as if he wasn't even there.
Across the room, was another large glass, which divided the room into two.
There were a few more of those strange people behind the glass, each one keenly observing them.
"Hey!" He shouted, trying to lunge at one of them.
However, he immediately realised that apart from his head and fingers, he couldn't move any other part of his body.
"What the hell… is this?" He muttered, his gaze drifting down to his torso, albeit with some difficulty.
His limbs were tightly strapped to the surface with thick, black restraints, and an even larger strap was placed over his torso, pinning him down.
"What's this… why am I tied down?" Alex muttered, trying with all his strength to pull off the restraints.
However, he couldn't even budge them, especially since he could barely move his body.
"Hey! Get me out of here!" He shouted, turning to one of the men walking around.
The man simply glanced at him, before ignoring him, proceeding with his business.
"Don't dare ignore me! Come back here! Take these things off! If you don't, I'll kill you!" Alex shouted, but no one paid him any heed. "You hear me?!"
"Can't you—"
"Stop shouting, you're just wasting your time."
"Huh…?" Alex mumbled, before turning to the side, where the voice came from.
His gaze met with that of a blonde haired man, who was also strapped to a surface just like him.
He was also enclosed within a curved transparent glass, which was connected to the brown 'platform.'
There were ten of them in the room, each one lying down within a similar glass pod.
However, apart from Alex and the blonde haired man, the rest were still unconscious, and if not for their rising chests, one may confuse them for dead people.
"Look around you… can't you see what's happening? There's no way they would just let you out just 'cause you asked. So stop screaming… it's pointless."
Alex's eyes narrowed deeply at the man's words, and he instinctively tried getting up again, only to find himself restrained by the metal straps.
The anger within him ignited once more, and he violently pulled on the straps, trying his best to break them off.
He pulled to the point where the metal straps dug deeply into his skin, causing his wrists to bleed. Nonetheless, it was to no avail.
"Get these things off! Hey!!" He shouted, gnashing his teeth in anger.
"What kind of idiot am I stuck with…" The blonde haired man muttered, his lips slowly curling into a wry smile.
Finding nothing else to do, he slowly closed his eyes, reluctantly accepting his fate.
He had been planning to at least enjoy his last moments in and peaceful bliss, as he doubted he would ever get the chance to do so again.
However, all that had been ruined now…
