Any Place

Davian drove them into town, keeping one hand on the steering wheel as he occasionally glanced at Roseanne, seated quietly beside him. She seemed both excited and a little nervous, her gaze drifting from the window to him and back again. Sensing she might need a nudge to relax, he cleared his throat, trying to sound casual.

"Is there any place you'd like to go?" he asked, keeping his voice calm but curious.

Roseanne glanced at him, a slight look of surprise crossing her face. She blinked, then shook her head. "I… I don't really know," she admitted with a small smile, her fingers lightly fidgeting in her lap. "I'll just go wherever you take me."

Davian raised an eyebrow, amused. "You're not worried I might bring you somewhere strange?"

She met his gaze then, her eyes warm and honest. "No," she replied softly. "I trust you."
