Bella felt an odd feeling, as if someone was staring at her and subconsciously turned around and saw Lucas. Her heart picked up pace, she shyly looked down but caught herself and put on her professional look.

"Sir, good Morning" she greeted, her voice betraying her hidden emotions.

Lucas arched an eyebrow; he noticed that she looked eager to see him, which was weird. He knows that his staff loved it more when he was away. But she, on the other hand, looked almost eager to see him.

"Good Morning" he replied in a surprisingly soft tone. He sat down at his chair, internally savoring the feeling of sitting in his work chair. He sort of missed it.

"How were things picking up ?" He asked, already getting into work mode.

Bella switched on her professional switch and reported everything that happened in his supposed absence.
