As the fireball approached the the shield. Elena felt the power of the rune, "This is absolutely insane!!". This will defiantly destroy the shield, I need to be ready to deal with it so the students do not die.
The fireball hit the shield with menacing and overwhelming force, creaks started sounding from the collision, and cracks spread throughout the shield.
After a few seconds of relentless struggle, the shield eventually succumbed to its fate and broke turning into particles. However, the fireball still menacing continue forward, but it's momentum decreased by a large amount which was stopped by Elena who was ready for it.
"Oscillation Wave!" chanted Elena, as she used her sound magic to dissipate the fireball. Oscillation Wave was a medium tier 4 spell. The fireball dissipated albeit unwillingly.
After what happened, the students were in turmoil.
"Did you just see that?, a tier 2 spell actually destroyed a mid tier 3 spell. Am I hallucinating or dreaming. Someone wake me up please." said a student in the crowd.
His friend next to him smacked his head, "Ouch why did you hit me, you bastard". "To make you realise that it's not a dream" his friend said with a wicked smile on his face.
Others were also shocked from the display of power that Aiden just showed with that tier 2 spell. "This is simply absurd, how can a tier 2 spell do so much damage, it definitely has the power of one of the strongest mid tier 3 spell." Said the student who wanted to record what was going to happen.
"I know realise why Elena did not want this to be leaked, this is very important news. If leaked, Aiden who is basically the inventor would be targeted like crazy by the Enigmi and other forces."
As the students gradually settled down, still buzzing with excitement and disbelief, Elena turned her attention back to the remnants of the destroyed shield. Her mind was racing with the possibilities Aiden's invention presented. The potential to revolutionize their magical combat capabilities was immense, but it also carried significant risks.
"Aiden, your invention is something that could change the course of this war, if we could apply the same principles, to higher tier spells. We will be able to fight back more against the Enigmi, We could potentially win the war too!!" Said Elena excitedly to Aiden, who did not share her enthusiasm.
"I am afraid that it's not that easy Ms Elena, I can only apply these principles to a tier 2 spell currently, and it will very difficult to apply it to higher tier spells. Furthermore, the higher you go up in tier the more difficult it becomes to do that." said Aiden calming Elena's enthusiasm by a notch.
He knew he couldn't apply this technique to higher-tier spells. While Limitless Eyes helped him with this spell, it was still at level 1 and not yet capable of handling more advanced magic. Moreover, his own strength and understanding of spells hadn't reached that level yet.
"Nevertheless, it's still possible to do it, it's just hard now. But we now know it's possible to do so. It is still a shocking invention. You will be heavily rewarded for this contribution Aiden." said Elena.
"I need you to come with me to meet the principal . We need to have a meeting about this.
"Alright" Aiden nodded, not particularly afraid of such spotlight. As he knew the personality of the principal, he wasn't someone who would covet his inventions.
"Good," Elena replied. "We'll leave to meet the principal immediately. This information must reach him as soon as possible."
Before they departed, Mark and Lena came to Aiden. "Man you are too amazing, leave some spotlight to us folks, how can we get some screen time when you are doing everything" said Mark jokingly to Aiden.
"You are taking this too seriously man. I couldn't have done this without Lena's help and yours. Im simply grateful to have you guys as my friends" Said Aiden gracefully, expressing his appreciation of Mark and Lena.
"You are giving us too much credit Aiden" Said Lena shyly, at the compliments she received from Aiden.
"Anyway, I will see you guys after I come back from meeting that old folk. he will quite a disaster to deal with, since he will be asking so many questions on how I done it sigh..." said Aiden as he face palmed.
"Don't worry man, he should be more lenient." said Mark.
"Let's hope so, see you guys!" said Aiden as he walked towards Elena.
Meanwhile Aiden was talking to his friends, Elena noticed a group of students still gathered, whispering animatedly. She approached them, her expression softening. "Everyone, I know today has been overwhelming. What you've witnessed is a significant breakthrough. But remember, with our knowledge and abilities, we have a duty to protect and defend our world. Stay focused on your training, and never forget the importance of working together. You guy's also have the potential to create something like this"
The students nodded, their eyes filled with newfound determination. They knew they were witnessing history in the making and were eager to do something similar.
Elena and Aiden made their way to the principal room, navigating through the grand halls of the academy. The air was thick with anticipation, and every step seemed to echo the weight of the news they carried.
Upon reaching the chamber, they were greeted by the principal assistant , a tall and imposing figure with a stern yet approachable demeanour. "Elena, Aiden," he said, acknowledging them with a nod. "The principal is ready to see you."
It seemed like the principal already caught news of what happened in the arena.
As they approached, the wooden doors to the room creaked open by themselves, revealing an ordinary yet enchanting room.
The principal's office was a perfect blend of simplicity and mystique, reflecting the character of its powerful occupant. The walls were lined with rich mahogany panelling, polished to a gleaming finish that caught the warm glow of the chandeliers overhead. Intricate carvings of mythical creatures and ancient runes adorned the panelling, hinting at the principal's deep connection to magic and history.
In the centre of the room stood a large, intricately carved wooden desk, its surface cluttered with scrolls, ancient tomes, and peculiar artifacts, each seemingly more enigmatic than the last. A faint, magical aura emanated from the desk, suggesting that it held secrets only the principal could unlock.
Behind the desk, a high-backed leather chair, embroidered with golden threads, commanded the room. It was a throne befitting someone of great power and knowledge. On the walls hung portraits of illustrious figures from the past, their eyes seemingly following visitors as they moved around the room.
Bookshelves lined one wall, packed with leather-bound volumes and spell books, their spines inscribed with languages both known and forgotten. The faint smell of old parchment and a hint of exotic spices filled the air, creating an atmosphere of timeless wisdom and authority.
A large, arched window on the opposite wall offered a breath-taking view of the sprawling landscape outside. Sunlight streamed in, casting intricate patterns of light and shadow across the room, and highlighting the subtle enchantments woven into the very fabric of the space.
The principal's room was a sanctuary of knowledge and power, a place where decisions that shaped the future were made, and where the line between the ordinary and the extraordinary blurred.
Elena stepped forward, her voice steady. "Principal , we bring news of a remarkable breakthrough. Aiden has developed a technique that enhances the power of tier 2 spells, making them comparable to much higher-tier spells. Today, we witnessed a tier 2 spell destroy a mid-tier 3 spell."
The principal looked at Aiden , his eyes widening with interest. After a few seconds of silence, he said "This is indeed extraordinary. Aiden, can you explain the principles behind this technique?"
Aiden took a deep breath, stepping forward with confidence. "The technique involves a complex manipulation of magical frequencies and the resonance. By tuning the spell's structure to be more specific we can allow for more power to be stored, we can amplify its power significantly. However, the process becomes exponentially more difficult with higher-tier spells."
The principal named William, nodded thoughtfully. "Your invention has the potential to change the course of our struggle against the Enigmi. But we must ensure that this is not leaked. Knowledge of this technique could be dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands."
William said "Aiden, we want to implement this spell structure in our rune labs, and would like to sign a licensing agreement agreement with you. You will grant us permission to produce, use and sell the spell structure and for every product sold you will receive a royalty percentage of 65% and we get 35%. You will have to do nothing with the production, sales or experiments done for it. We will do everything, all you have to do is just give us permission"
"I agree to this conditions. However, I would like to receive the royalty fee every month, not every year."
"That's fine too. However, it will take some time for us to adopt this rune and start mass producing it. We will let you know when we start doing so. Let's sign the contract first" said William.
A few minutes later, a contract was signed between the academy and Aiden. After a few minutes of talking about things, Aiden and Elena departed from the hall and went back to the academy.
They concluded the contract, and Aiden has become an honorary Instructor in the academy. He will be able to hold his own classes regarding magic theory, in which he will be paid for by the students attending. He can set the price he wants for the lecture.
As they went back Elena said "You struck gold didn't you little kid hehe, don't forget us folks when you are rich okay?" said Elena jokingly to Aiden, even though she from a very rich family and did not lack money.
"How can I possible forget the most beautiful teacher in the world" retaliated Aiden, making Elena who is usually composed blush faintly. She quickly turned her head away and stopped talking to him.
Seeing her reaction Aiden just smiled silently and enjoyed the ride back home, thinking about all the money he was about to receive.
He already started making plans for the money he was going to receive.
