Powers can be Magic or Aura.

Magic is usually superior, as it allows the person the harness their talent which are usually related to magic.

Aura is physical strength and agility, so the person who uses aura usually focuses on their body rather than their mana because they don't have a talent for magic but rather strength, agility or stealth as example..

Aura users are stronger in close combat, whereas mages are stronger in mid-range to long-range combat.

MAGIC USERS :

Spells are categorised based on the rank of the magic circle they understand and memorise.

understanding a 1-star circle makes you a non-magic user.

understanding a 2-star circle makes you a beginner Mage.

understanding a 3-star circle makes you a Novice Mage.

understanding a 4-star circle makes you an Apprentice Mage.

understanding a 5-star circle makes you an Adept Mage.

understanding a 6-star circle makes you a Great Mage.

understanding a 7-star circle makes you a Grand Mage.

understanding an 8-star circle makes you an Archmagi.

understanding a 9-star circle makes you a Magus.

They are further categorised by the connection points of the circles which are 1 to 4 points.

The higher the points of connection the stronger the spell, this is what differs mages.

Grades of mages in the same rank: initiate, intermediate, proficient, prime.

A prime mage will have mastered a 4 connection point circle in their rank, which makes them stronger than other mages at the same rank. They are the pinnacle of the mages at their rank.
