The Spider Demon stomped underfoot was now red-faced with rage, utterly humiliated by such a mana-less mortal. She would never be able to hold her head up high among her sisters again.
She let out an angry hiss, her entire face morphing into a massive spider visage, sharp fangs exposed with green poison dripping from them.
As mana surged to flip the Monk stepping on her, she found herself flipping at thin air, the tremendous force striking nothing but air and causing her own body to topple over once again due to inertia.
At that moment, a monk's sandal was once again pressing down on her head. The Monk wore a look of terror, muttering nonstop, "How terrifying, how terrifying." Yet his feet did not move, and the dreadful demon remained squashed underfoot, unable to turn over.
"Sisters, be careful, there's something odd about this Monk," the Spider Demons also noticed the strangeness of the situation, each one warily eyeing the seemingly harmless Tang Monk, guessing at his motives.
