Chapter 37: Successfully Checking In

With a creak, the door was pushed open.

At that moment, a funny scene was playing on the TV, and Charlotte was laughing uncontrollably while standing up.

"Oh my gosh, this is too funny! Hahaha!"

"This guy is so clumsy; he can't even jump over a simple skipping rope! He actually fell flat on his face, hahaha!"

Leo and Jeremy were also laughing heartily, completely oblivious to the new arrivals at the door.

Tucker had initially intended to make a grand entrance, but he was instantly stunned by the sight of the TV on the wall, the fruit on the coffee table, and the clean, rosy-faced people.

Charlotte wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, composed herself, and looked towards the door.

"Hello, guest. Are you here to check in?"

The two people in front of her looked like they had come from afar, with stains on their pants and dirt on their faces. Their features were hard to make out, but Charlotte wouldn't turn away any guest who came in, regardless of their state.

Seeing Tucker standing there with a sullen expression, Belle had to jump out from behind him. "It's me, Belle. I stayed here before! I still have some points on my card!"

She tried to clean her face as best as she could and hoped Charlotte wouldn't forget her.

Charlotte looked at her carefully and indeed recognized her face. After taking the card she handed over, Charlotte remembered that she was the person who had kicked her before!

Truly a "frequent guest."

"Oh, I remember now. Why didn't you come out with your team today? Do you need a room?"

The room rate would be much less. Charlotte thought to herself.

Belle, filled with gratitude, smiled and pushed forward alevel 1 zombie escape. "No, I came with my dad today. We'll take a single room as before. We can manage with just the two of us."

Charlotte wouldn't point out the price tag to her. For two people, she could charge 60 points.

"This is the key card for room 204. You can go up from that side."

Instead of heading upstairs, the two went to the meal machine to place an order.

"Dad, look! This is the machine I told you about. Just swipe the card, and a box of food comes out in seconds!" Belle excitedly pointed at the picture on the screen and ordered a box of cumin duck leg fried rice. After swiping the card, a box of rice indeed came out in seconds!

Tucker's eyes almost popped out.

"Divine help, divine help!"

"Order two more! No, three more!"

However, the screen displayed a message: Insufficient balance. Please recharge.

"How could this be?" Belle pulled out the card and found only 23 points remaining. "Dad, the points aren't enough. We need to top up."

Tucker handed her twolevel 1 zombie escape. "Hurry up and recharge! Useless things!"

After being scolded, Belle pretended not to hear. Her father scolded her every day, and she was already used to it!

"Charlotte, please help me top up the points!" She ran to Charlotte, flaunting thelevel 1 zombie escape in her hand.

Charlotte was busy watching TV, and Belle happened to block her view. With a sigh, she pointed to the payment counter. "The automatic recharge machine is over there. Do it yourself."

Belle felt embarrassed as she looked at Jeremy beside her. She touched her nose and went to recharge.

Tucker, delighted, touched several machines and grew more fond of them.

If he had these treasures, how could he worry about his position?!

He had to find a way to acquire them!

He glanced subtly at Charlotte, observing her slender limbs, delicate skin, and fashionable attire. He couldn't quite gauge her true capabilities and was hesitant to act recklessly.

Unexpectedly, this small business owner had given him a hard time!

Damn woman, once this hotel is mine, I'll see how she begs and pleads beneath me!

Just look at that pretty face and fiery figure—feeling them must be great!

Belle returned to the machine and looked at her father with confusion, sensing something strange about him.

After recharging the points for three meals, she carried four boxes of food, feeling buoyant as she headed upstairs.

She noticed the fruit on the coffee table but knew the price of the fruit well. She didn't believe Charlotte would sell fruit to her, and even if she did, she couldn't afford it.

Besides, what exactly had happened here? The changes were so drastic!

Belle, filled with anxiety, observed her surroundings. This place was completely different from where she had stayed before!

Upon opening room 204, Tucker clicked on the switch, and the room instantly lit up.

The two were stunned.

This, this was a room costing 30 points a night?!

All the single rooms had been refurbished by Charlotte, even copying the designer's carefully designed single-room model into the hotel.

Just by looking at the room's decor, 30 points was definitely a bargain!

Even after the upgrade, the system hadn't indicated a price increase, so it was still 30 points a night.

Charlotte didn't find it regrettable. After all, these were zero-cost items from this world. She not only enjoyed the experience but also used them in her hotel. If the price didn't increase, so be it.

Father and daughter sat on the floor, wolfing down their rice. Tucker, especially protective of his food, kept the other two boxes behind him, fearing his daughter would steal them.

They ate so quickly that they soon choked, pounding their chests and stretching their necks, faces turning red.

"...Water..." Tucker, trembling, pointed to the mineral water on the low cabinet and asked Belle to get it for him.

Belle did as told, watching eagerly as her father gulped down the water, leaving none for her.

"Cough, cough, what are you staring at? Don't you have abilities? Get your own water!" Tucker tossed the bottle aside.

Belle's face turned a bit purple, but she forced herself to use the last bit of her ability and finally got some water, easing her choking.

Tucker had already opened another box of food and, seeing Belle staring at him, ordered her to leave. "What are you doing here? Didn't you say there were big changes? Go out and see what's going on!"

Belle had no choice but to turn and leave.

Walking down the corridor, she found there were 13 rooms on the second floor and two staircases.

She even discovered a huge public restroom with two fully automatic washing machines!

She couldn't believe it. She turned on the faucet and watched clear water flow out.

There really was water! Belle looked up, seeing her face covered in black water stains and her clothes filthy, completely out of place in the clean environment.

Belle held her hand under the water to wash her face, trying to clear her muddled brain. She looked back at the mirror, and her face finally appeared clean.

Before she could smile, her mouth slowly opened—

It was a bathroom!

"Dad, Dad! Not only is there water, but there's also a bathroom to take a shower!" Belle dashed into room 204, startling the man who had been secretly searching for treasure.

Seeing it was Belle, Tucker was extremely angry and almost hit her—

"Dad! There's a shower and a washing machine!"

What did she say? A shower? A washing machine? Is she joking?

No! Tucker craned his neck and looked at the ceiling lights.

There was electricity here... maybe these things really exist!

"Hurry! Show me!"
