Dear Clarince.
Downwell seemed rather excited when he wrote the letter, it was nothing really important, basically a status report about how the negotiations were going. It only went to show that he truly was invested in the peace treaty.
Ellie traced her hand underneath the table, feeling for any sort of secret buttons or hidden materials but felt nothing.
She briefly squatted to take a look underneath it, nothing.
Alas she went about searching the house while keeping her eyes on the window, if Downwell was to return prematurely she would have to quickly make use of the back door.
Ellie ended up spending thirty minutes thoroughly searching the house but at the end of the day, she came up empty handed. There was nothing here that could tie him to the incidents.
She tiredly rested on a shelf she had already searched, giving the room one final glance. Her fingers thrummed gently on the wooden surface as she watched.
