Acting on their own intuition the rest of the party had gone further down the cave to avoid becoming a burden to them and so only Raven and Ayase stood against the judge.

They could still receive aid from those who could use long ranged attacks but the close range fighters were basically useless.

"Now… what do those pretty bones do?"

Raven eyed the creature cautiously, walking closer to where Ayase stood, Ayase too stared at the creature with the same level of apprehension.

It was as though they were all waiting to see who would strike first, and soon enough one of them did…

The colossal body of the serpent flickered—and then it was gone.
