Shen Zichu didn't speak, just watched Gu Xiaoman so intently that she, feeling somewhat guilty, looked away.
It was odd; she wasn't the one who did something wrong, so why didn't she feel entirely justified?
"Is that what you think?"
Gu Xiaoman was caught between laughter and tears.
"Isn't that the fact? How else should I think, Shen Zichu? Don't think of me as so fragile. I'm already in my early twenties. Do you really think I would throw a fit or hang myself over this? Right?"
Shen Zichu was left speechless by her words. Gu Xiaoman had liked him for more than a year, starting from an accidental encounter during his internship. She had sought all kinds of ways to get close to him, although they were merely acquaintances who liked each other's social media posts. Only in the past year did she become more ardent in her affection, and even a blind man could see how she felt.
