As it paused to admit defeat in there, Su Shu lifted her gaze just in time to see the peach tree planted in the corner of the courtyard. Was it her imagination, or did the peach tree seem to have grown taller?
And those six fruits hanging from its branches appeared to have ripened too.
Lured by their sight, feeling a bit greedy, she got up and walked over to take a closer look at the peach tree.
"Only six left. I should try one. If they're out of season and fall, I'll miss the chance to taste them." She didn't even consider why those six fruits were still so fresh after all this time.
Holding a fresh peach in her left hand and a rolling pin in her right, enjoying the pleasant temperature in the space, she nibbled on the juicy peach while "bullying" the mischievous Bear Snake that refused to behave.
Su Shu thought to herself, "If I don't tame you today, you're going to devour all my chickens, ducks, and geese."
"You're suffocating me!"
"Suffocating, huh?"
