ONE WEEK PASSED by faster but to Izuku, who had been waiting for it, the week passed by like it was in a slow motion. Whatever the case, the first day that he had been waiting for has arrived.
"Mom, I'm all set, right? Did I leave something?" Izuku asked his mother, who still decided to drive him despite the school being walking distance.
Probably because it was the first day, there were many students walking their way towards the school, while there were also a few cars who carefully drove their students in front of the school gate.
Inko drives more carefully and slowly, afraid of hitting some students, so when he answered Izuku, who was sitting on the passenger's seat beside her, she didn't move her eyes away from the road.
Inko chuckles. "I honestly didn't know what you are feeling excited about now, Izuku. If it was for the first day or for finally meeting Katsuki. And yes, don't worry. You didn't leave anything when you had already prepared the contents of your bag five days ahead."
Izuku knew that his mother was trying to tease him, yet he still couldn't help feeling anxious. Because his mother clearly knows him, and she was right. About her assumption of the reason for Izuku's anxiousness.
His excitement towards the fact that he was really entering UA, his dream school, as an aspiring pro-hero, had long been overdue, and currently, that excitement was because he was finally having his long-awaited reunion with Katsuki.
The only problem was that he didn't know if Katsuki would be his classmate since, according to what All Might as well as Principal Nezu had told him in advance, there will be two sections of the hero course.
He's sure that Katsuki will end up in the hero course, but as for his section? He couldn't ask the principal that. And even All Might didn't know about it since he will only become a teacher and not a class adviser.
Maybe if he used all his privileges as All Might's recommended student, he could just ask them to put him in the same section where Katsuki is. But he just knew himself well; he's still got his principles and self-control, so he didn't force his way. He can only pray that Katsuki will be in Section 1A as him.
"You can drop me off here, Mom. The car is no longer allowed to go further from here," Izuku reminded his mother when he saw that they were already in front of the school gate.
"Oh, is that so? Then let me find someplace to park the car first."
Izuku quietly stayed in his seat as Inko drove to a place where she could park the car. After she did, Inko quickly unbuckled her seatbelt, thinking that her son would be too excited to come out of the car.
But to her surprise, when she looked back, Izuku was still properly seated on the front seat beside her.
Knowing her son, Izuku might be feeling nervous about everything that he couldn't muster the courage to get out of the car.
This naturally made Inko laugh at her son. Since she already unbuckled her seatbelt, she also helped Izuku unbuckle his. Then, with a smile, she playfully tapped her son on his shoulder.
"What? Wanna back out now?"
Izuku hurriedly shook his head. And then, with swift movement, he gathered all his things—put his bag on his back—and gave his mother a kiss on the cheek.
"I'll go ahead, Mom! See you later!"
Then he quickly left the car without waiting for his mother to react. Inko can only smile as she watches her parting son's excited yet awkward back.
Izuku stopped just a step after entering the school gate. He looked up at the prominent blue gate with the golden school logo on the center top.
He's finally living one of his dreams!
With this, Izuku was confident that he would also relive the remaining dream he has that he could only think of before.
"Kacchan…"
With that, Izuku entered completely with a kind smile plastered on his lips. Obviously, he was unaware of the eyes that had been targeting him since he came in running to the school gate.
No, it might have started since someone recognized him the moment he came out of his mother's car.
It was one of the students who came in the same exam area as Izuku and also witnessed his heroic deeds of saving others and destroying the villainbots after.
"Look! Look! Isn't he cute?" The said student said to her friend without stopping her nudging.
"What cute? Don't be blinded by his innocent face; I'm sure he got some firm muscles here and there. And that's not something you can call cute, okay?" The friend who was also the witness of the event shared her opinion.
The only girl who was unfortunate enough to have a different exam place pouted at her two arguing friends. She really wanted to witness that as well but she was just an unlucky fella to get separated with them.
"You know. He's also the one who ranked first, right? I heard, he's a dom."
Since she couldn't relate with them but was interested in the topic, the girl could only open up the only information she got, hoping that it was only her who knew it, at least between her friends.
"Really? He's a dom? But I think he would pass as a sub with his cuteness!" The first girl denied.
While the second girl eagerly nodded her head. "I told you! It was very obvious! That made him become more manly and handsome in my eyes!"
The last girl could only nod. "No wonder he was that strong. Though I am still surprised to know that that kind of face is a face of a dom."
Not far from this group of girl friends was also a trio of dudes who have the same subject but different topic.
"He's that guy, right? Do you think he's really that strong?" A man with ordinary black hair asked.
"Guess he is. He wouldn't rank first if he isn't," the shortest commented.
"But maybe only because he was recommended by All Might." The tallest shared his doubt.
This made the other two swivel their heads at this friend.
"What? He was recommended by All Might?!" The shortest exclaimed, enough to be heard by the others.
The tallest dude nodded his head nonchalantly.
"Well, that made him all the more deserving of his rank."
These types of murmurs were spreading to all the students that Izuku passed by. And with how his sense was slightly better compared to normal, he could not help but to hear more.
Though not that he cared. With how he couldn't find his room, Izuku could only ignore them and focused on trying to remember if All Might had given him the direction or anyone.
Unfortunately, Izuku was sure that All Might may or may not have remembered to give him a specific direction of his classroom when the old man had given him the tour. All that happened in that tour is how All Might walked him around the campus, introducing him to each building without specifically bringing him inside.
Just like how All Might told him that this will be the classroom building but not specifically walk him to his classroom for the whole school year.
He was also feeling the scorching eyes as well as the whispering mouths focused on him affecting him.
Luckily, he still knows how to keep himself proper before the others and has held back his growing irritation of the surroundings.
"That old man. He really should have retired completely instead of giving me headaches like this…" he muttered frustratedly while maintaining his cool.
"Hi!"
And that "cool" was almost thrown out when a female voice interrupted his inner monologue.
"Fu—" Izuku almost cursed but was able to quickly shut his mouth.
Izuku did a sharp look towards the person and a familiar brunette came into his view. If his memory serves him right, it was the same girl whom he saved on that practical exam incident.
"Oh, it's you!"
The brunette gave a sweet smile. "Glad you still remember me."
"Of course I would. Only blind people would forget your cute face," Izuku answered, flashing back a gentle smile.
The said cute-looking girl almost had a heart attack when she not only received a compliment but also received that from the guy who flashed him a handsome smile.
The perpetual pink blush mark on her cheeks darkened and became more visible. "W-what…" the girl stuttered.
That made Izuku realize what he did and his green emerald eyes widened with a little hint of blush on his freckled cheeks.
"Oh fu—I mean, freeze. Anyway, I'm sorry, I didn't mean—I mean, yes, you are cute but what I—"
When Izuku saw that his needless panicking had not resolved the situation but had instead made it worse, he ultimately chose to remain silent.
He could only hide his embarrassment in a face palm. "I screwed it, didn't I?"
The brunette answered with an awkward chuckle.
This made Izuku aware of his idiotic image and all he could do was put all the blame on others.
"It was Haruto-sensei's fault for making me act like a real scumbag like he is! With all the things he taught me, why did I even remember those asshole-ish advices he gave me before I left? Damnit!" he scolded in his head.
"I'm sorry. It probably got rubbed off me from my teacher that it easily slipped out of my mouth. And let's just keep it at that or just forget anything like that ever happened," Izuku almost pleadingly asked.
And that truly made the other laugh. "I guess we should just forget it then. And honestly, I didn't mind so," she said with a shrug.
Relief became visible in Izuku's face as he tried to be as normal again. "We haven't properly introduced each other, right? So how about I introduce myself first? Izuku Midoriya is my name."
"Oh my, that's true. Sorry, that was rude of me. I'm Ochaco Uraraka. And nice to meet you, Midoriya-kun."
"Same here. And congratulations on passing," Izuku jokingly said.
Ochaco giggled. "Fortunately! Should I also thank you for that?"
That simple exchange was enough for Izuku to like the brunette—as a friend. Though Izuku is not choosy about having friends, because of his personal experience with peers his age, he couldn't help but to be wise this time.
Unlike before, where he wanted to befriend anyone, he would try to choose with whom he would acquaint himself.
He believes that having friends by quality rather than quantity is the best. Not only for himself, but for everyone else.
"Oh shoot, I forgot about Mina-chan! Are you on your way to your classroom, Midoriya-kun? By the way, what is your section?"
"Now that you reminded me, I was actually lost looking for my classroom," Izuku answered, embarrassedly scratching the back of his neck. "I hope you're 1A as well so that I will no longer have to look on my own."
Ochaco gave a grin as she nodded her head towards Izuku, her brown hair bouncing with her eagerness.
"Finally!" Izuku couldn't help but shout in glee. "Let's go, please. I wanted to get familiarized with the room I'll be using for the whole school year as well as the rest of our classmates."
The brunette chuckled but complied as she headed first while Izuku followed. Ochaco did not forget to introduce the places they are passing by on the way until they come in front of a big and tall door.
Ochaco looked back at Izuku with a grin; her two hands were already ready to push open the door.
"Welcome to 1A, Midoriya-kun!" Then she finally pushed the big door lightly.
Even with that little bit of effort, the big, tall door was easily pushed open without making any noise. But because it was a very big and noticeable door, the people inside who were busy talking and chatting with their own group of people had to stop and look at the opened door.
"Guys, I'm back! And look who I brought with me!" Ochaco excitedly announced.
That really surprised Izuku and when all eyes darted unto him, he even flinched in shock like an afraid puppy.
"H-hi?" he awkwardly greeted despite being afraid.
Only then did the people who were staring at him scramble from their seats and hurriedly surround him.
"Hi! You're Izuku Midoriya, right?" the girl with a light shade of pink skin asked in high spirits.
It was the first thing he noticed before spotting the two slender, pale yellow horns that are hooked squarely and angled diagonally to opposing sides protruding from her head.
"A-ah, y-yeah—"
Before he could even complete his answer, another girl—probably, since the floating uniform before him is for girls—had thrown him a new question.
"So it was you who heroically ranked first, right?"
"Ugh…I—"
But for the second time, he was interrupted. This time, by a familiar bespectacled guy he remembered from his shameful incident before the entrance exam's practical test.
"Hello, Midoriya, I am Tenya Iida. I am the guy who scolded you in the practical exam orientation. I hope you remembered me but not because of that incident. I'm truly ashamed of that."
Since the other had already taken his hands for a handshake, Izuku could only shake his head. "It's okay—ack!"
Izuku was taken aback when another hand had taken his from the bespectacled guy. And yes. He was no longer surprised when his words were once again cut off.
"You're so cool, bro! I watched your fight with that gigantic robot and you were so cool! For real!" said another guy with gold hair, parted to the right and with a unique black lightning-shaped streak on the left of his side fringe.
"And very manly!"
"Fu—!"
Izuku almost gave a glare for getting a shock when someone interrupted behind him. He was seriously shocked that he almost shouted a curse, which would ruin him.
When he looked at his side, Izuku saw a man with long and bright red hair spiked away in his head, probably with gel, giving him a lofty nature.
"The way you saved Uraraka-chan was very manly. I approve!" the red-haired guy added, giving Izuku a thumbs-up.
And not only these guys and gals are the ones who throw question after question at him, even the other classmates started speaking with him that Izuku decided to keep his mouth and to stop trying to answer any of them.
Not because he didn't know how or what to answer but because he was not given time to even react to them. And since it seems that they didn't need his answer then, he would just keep his silence.
Izuku just wished that it wouldn't last long, as he honestly wanted to take a seat and have a moment of silence.
Which would become more impossible now that a loud bang was heard inside the room. It garnered not only his but everyone's attention so all eyes tried to look at the perpetrator, who didn't make it hard for them to find as the said person spoke before them.
"Fucking extras! What's with the fucking noise?!"
