The Secret Party Where Gangs Unite

Leah's footsteps echoed through the dimly lit alley, her heart pounding in sync with the rhythm of the city. It was already night time. Originally she should have been sleeping and If her dad found out about her not being at home she would be in big trouble. This didn't stop her from sneaking out in the end. After her talk with Mr. Thompson, she went out to learn more about the four gangs. If she wanted to take them down she should at least know the basic things about them. To her surprise, no one knew what the leaders of the four gangs looked like. Other than that there wasn't any useful information. But there was a rumor, a rumor about a party that was going to happen tonight. There was a high possibility the gang leaders would be there as from what people told her they loved parties. With hearing this rumor she called the best person who could have an answer.

"Hey, Annalise. I heard there's a party—a gathering of the underworld. I need an invitation."

"An invite? That's easy. But why?"

"I just want to meet new people and make some other friends"

"Leah, I honestly don't think this party would be a good place to make friends."

"Anna, just please."

"I will take you as my plus one."

"Thank you"

So that was where she was. Annalise's boyfriend, Nolan, was driving them to the party. From what she learned he was also a member of The Lion's.

Her purpose here was both to learn more about the gangs and meet Max again. She couldn't get rid of the gangs by herself and the police were as useless as a rock. If she could team up with Max most of her worries would diminish.

Nolan stopped the car in front of a villa. "We arrived girls"

"Let's go, Leah. Don't get away from me too much" said Annalise as she took Leah's hand and navigated her to the backyard of the house.

Leah stepped into the poolside chaos, the air thick with humidity and the beat of pulsating music. The flicker of neon lights danced across her skin as she navigated through the crowd.

It was crowded. At some point, she was separated from Annalise but It wasn't too important for her. She needed to collect more information and also needed to meet Max.

Leah's heart raced, adrenaline fueling her determination. This was no ordinary party; it was a collision of danger and intrigue, where alliances formed and fractured with every passing second.

Leah's heart raced as she collided with the man—his eyes venomous, his gang insignia unmistakable. The Vipers, are ruthless and territorial. The man she collided with loomed over her.

Leah squared her shoulders. "Apologies," she said, her voice steady. "I didn't mean—"

"Meaning won't save you," he sneered. "You're in our territory." Claiming a party ground, how viper like.

The other Vipers closed in, a noose of leather jackets and menace. Leah's pulse quickened.

"I'm just passing through," she replied. "No trouble intended."

"Trouble finds those who seek it," the leader said. "What's your game?"

Leah's mind raced. She needed answers, not a confrontation. "I'm looking for Max."

The Viper's eyes narrowed. "Max? You mean Maximilian. Why?"

"Curiosity," she lied. "He's a legend, isn't he?"

"Legends die," he said. "Or they kill."

"Being afraid of death is stupid. It will come whatever you do"

"Hahaha! I like you! Names Darius, I'm the leader of the Vipers. If you want you are more than welcome to join."

"Leah. I'm new here."

Leah glanced around. Max remained elusive, a phantom in the chaos. She'd find him, extract information, and leave.

"Max is dangerous," the Viper warned as he noticed her looking around. "He's the Lion."

"And I'm a wolf," Leah retorted. With another big laugh from Darius, this time accompanied by his underlings, Vipers dispersed.

Leah caught a glimpse of Max across the pool. His eyes locked on hers. Leah's heart skipped a beat as Max's gaze bore into her. The poolside chatter faded, leaving only the electric tension between them. But then, like a snapped wire, Max's expression turned frosty. He looked away, dismissing her.

Leah's mind raced. Why? What had she done?

As Leah reached the edge of the pool, she scanned the area. Max was gone, swallowed by the throng of partygoers. Her frustration boiled over. She had risked everything to be here—to learn about the gangs, and perhaps, just perhaps, to find an ally in Max. But he had turned away, leaving her with unanswered questions and a bitter taste of rejection.

And then it hit her—the reason for Max's sudden aloofness. Darius, the leader of The Vipers, stood across the pool. His dark eyes held a dangerous allure, and his presence exuded power. Leah had spoken to him earlier when she bumped into him after that she continued to talk to him seeking information. Perhaps Max had witnessed their conversation, misinterpreting it as collusion. From what she was told the rivalry between The Lions and The Vipers ran deep, fueled by blood feuds and territorial disputes.

She clenched her fists, torn between frustration and determination. If she wanted answers, she needed to find Max. But how?

Leah weighed her options, her mind racing like a chess player contemplating her next move. Max's frosty dismissal had stung, but she refused to be defeated. She needed answers, and Max held the key.

She scanned the crowd, her eyes darting from one masked face to another. The neon lights played tricks, casting shadows that seemed to dance with secrets. If she wanted to approach Max again, she had to be strategic.

Option 1: The Direct Approach Leah could march up to Max, and confront him head-on. She'd demand an explanation and lay her cards on the table. But that risked alienating him further. Max was a predator, and cornering him might trigger a defensive response.

Option 2: The Indirect Route Perhaps subtlety was her best weapon. She'd mingle, and engage in casual conversation with other partygoers. If she stumbled upon Max, she'd act surprised, as if their previous encounter meant nothing. But this required patience—a skill she wasn't sure she possessed.

Option 3: The Bait Leah's gaze landed on Darius, the viper-eyed leader of The Vipers. If Max was jealous, she could use it to her advantage. She'd strike up a conversation with Darius, and let Max watch. Jealousy could unravel even the most guarded hearts.

As the music pulsed, Leah made her decision. She'd play the game, and dance with danger. She moved toward Darius, her heart pounding. Max might ignore her, but she'd make sure he couldn't look away.

She wondered for a second Had she sought him as an ally, or had she unwittingly fallen into something deeper? Love? Hahaha. They were strangers, bound by chance, and yet…

They had met only once, a collision of fate. Not a proper meeting. When they first met Leah's instincts screamed to flee, but something else—the thrill of danger, perhaps—kept her rooted.

Leah stopped for a moment, remembering how they ran and how close they were to each other. Her cheeks flushed, and she pressed forward, closing the gap between herself and Darius.

Startled, she let out a yelp, while Darius chuckled. "You seem to have a talent for bumping into people," he remarked.
