Chapter 4: That bright red light

At this moment, Rorschach was in a very strange state!

Endless hatred and resentment, along with ever-expanding anger and murderous intent, were crazily growing from the depths of his heart.

The boundless darkness was gradually eroding the little remaining human brilliance within him!

Having lived two lifetimes, the rare warmth he had painstakingly gained was now shattering before his eyes.

What he desired was very simple, just a bit of insignificant companionship, a humble wish to live a plain life with his father in this life, old John.

For this tiny hope, he had even forgotten the endless hunger, finding satisfaction in such a difficult life.

But how unfair the heavens were to him!

Even this small wish was being taken away from him.

Now, it seemed he had no attachment to this world anymore.

The explosion of negative emotions within him submerged him, transforming him into a man-eating beast.

Now, in Rorschach's mind, there was only one thought.

And that was to kill the pirate in front of him!

And eat him!

Facing Jericho's two sharp short swords, Rorschach felt no fear at all; he pounced on him directly.

Without any technique, purely relying on instinct and an unknown monstrous strength, he opened his two large hands and grabbed fiercely at Jericho's face.

With the fierce wind in his face, Jericho's expression turned hideous. He held his short-sleeved sword tightly, lowered his body, curled into a ball, and rolled under the oncoming Rorschach, slicing his two short swords upward.

"You really think I'm afraid of you? Don't be naive! You're just a mindless monster! Watch how I cut off your limbs and rip open your belly! I'll keep your heart as another prized collection of mine, Jericho the Ripper!"

Boom!

A sharp sound of flesh tearing reached Jericho's ears, making his smile even more twisted.

He could feel the blood raining down on him.

That was blood, lots of it, hot blood!

"If your belly is cut open, a little movement will make your intestines fall out. Ha ha, that scene would be too perverse."

Jericho looked up, wanting to see Rorschach's last struggle.

However, as soon as he raised his head, he saw a bony large hand descending on his face with a fierce slap.

Boom!

With a thunderous sound, seven or eight bloody teeth flew out of Jericho's open mouth.

His nose bridge collapsed, blood spurted from all seven orifices, and his sturdy body spun several times on the ground, spinning and flying away before crashing into a pile of rubble, raising a cloud of black dust.

"Ah! My face!"

From the shattered ruins came Jericho's painful scream.

He held his dizzy head with both hands, feeling the searing pain on his face.

The sensitive nerves in his face seemed to have been completely shattered by Rorschach's slap, Jericho could not control his basic expressions, his face paralyzed, his mouth twisted open, squeezing out one painful cry after another from his throat.

He felt as if his entire face had shattered.

His brain was shaking inside his skull, making him dizzy.

"Impossible! Impossible!"

"I am Jericho, the pirate with a bounty of 16 million, the captain of the Ripper Pirates, renowned throughout the Kingdom of Lubnaru! How could a country bumpkin have such powerful strength! Who the hell are you?!"

The pain stimulated Jericho's nerves, and the humiliation triggered his anger, making him clutch his short sword again, shouting angrily.

But what responded to him was the shattered wood and bricks, and Rorschach's demonic figure approaching relentlessly, completely ignoring the X-shaped wound created by the short swords on his chest and abdomen.

He was like a monster without pain, disregarding the fountain-like blood gushing from his wound, just raising his bony hand again, and slamming it down like a pile driver!

Boom!

The ground made a dull noise, the earth and stones shattered, black dust flew, and a deep pit appeared in the ground.

Jericho rolled his body to the side, his eyes full of hatred, turning his short sword into a stab, thrusting it towards Rorschach's left side.

He wanted to deeply embed this foot-long short sword into this beast, then stir and shred his internal organs!

"Die, monster!"

Boom!

The short sword penetrated Rorschach's left side without any obstruction, up to the hilt.

"Got it!"

Jericho's expression was dull, but his eyes showed joy.

His wrist turned, about to shred the monster's internal organs.

But the next moment, the wind roared, raising a cloud of black dust, and Rorschach's left hand instinctively reached back, gripping Jericho's right wrist.

The immense strength made Jericho scream again.

Rorschach's five fingers were like hydraulic pliers, crushing his wrist bone bit by bit.

Jericho could clearly see his right wrist shrinking, compressing, like a sponge being squeezed.

The dense sound of bone cracking made Jericho's eyes roll back, in unbearable pain.

"Let go! You bastard! Let go of me!"

Tears flowed from Jericho's eyes, his voice trembling with a sob, wielding his left short sword, slashing fiercely at Rorschach's left arm.

Boom, boom.

Each slash felt like cutting thick cowhide.

Although Rorschach's left arm was turning into a mess of flesh and blood, its bones remained intact, Jericho even saw tiny nicks appearing on his short sword's blade.

But the iron clamp-like hand remained motionless, gripping his already thin-as-noodles right wrist, pulling out the short sword stabbed into his body.

With a loud pop, the short sword left Rorschach's left side, blood spurting like a high-pressure fountain, drenching Jericho completely.

The pressure of the blood was so strong that it stung his face, forcing his head back, almost toppling him.

"Monster, you're not human! You're a monster!"

Jericho completely collapsed.

He had never seen anyone like Rorschach.

Not to mention ignoring the pain and the wounds all over his body, yet still standing.

Even the blood spurting like a high-pressure fountain was something he had never seen before.

If this blood were to shoot into his eyes, it could burst his eyeballs.

Is this still a human?

Even the legendary evil army Germa 66's clone soldiers weren't this outrageous.

Escape!

He must escape at all costs!

If he stayed any longer, he would surely die!

Jericho was ruthless enough.

With this thought, he swung his left short sword, cutting off his right wrist, which was barely attached.

Then, gritting his teeth, he clutched his severed right wrist and staggered away.

Rorschach's breathing became heavy, his vision blood-red.

Jericho's excessive fear led to a misjudgment.

In reality, Rorschach's stamina was on the brink of exhaustion.

His already starving body, after a period of intense fighting, was utterly drained.

Plus, the excessive blood loss made him slightly sober from his extreme frenzy.

The price of regained consciousness was the rapidly surging fatigue, pain, and the constant waves of sorrow in his heart.

Hot tears like boiling water, fell continuously from his eyes, shattering on the ground below.

Rorschach struggled to stand, swaying, wanting to chase Jericho, who was about to escape his sight.

He couldn't just let Jericho leave.

The hatred for his father's death, even the waters of the four seas couldn't wash away.

He wanted to swallow Jericho whole, make this pirate feel absolute despair!

However, at this moment, his legs felt as if they were rooted, made of lead, unable to move an inch.

Not only that, waves of accumulated fatigue and pain were attacking his mind and heart.

Rorschach didn't know if he would die in the next second.

Nor did he know if, once Jericho left the island, he would be able to find him again.

Jericho's figure grew farther away, Rorschach bit his lips until they bled, but his body, seeming rusted, wouldn't move!

"No! No!!"

Dense blood-colored darkness spread in his eyes, in the midst of a wolf-like howl, anger flared again in his pupils.

But just as Rorschach was about to turn into a beast again, committing another massacre, he suddenly saw a dazzling light piercing through the dark sky, illuminating the destroyed village with its crimson hue.

The island's temperature rose rapidly, the atmosphere twisted, and that red light in the distance turned into a giant crimson mountain wall, separating Jericho from the sea, trapping him on this small island.

Alongside a bloodthirsty beast.
