Chapter 23: Limits of Justice

Prince Elia spoke earnestly, his words almost tearful.

His pale face was filled with pain and determination.

Adira looked at Elia without expression, listening until he finished, without interruption.

"Those are all the details of the matter."

Elia took out a white silk handkerchief from his pocket, wiped his tears, and looked at Adira.

"In fact, before your arrival, I had already communicated the details of this matter to the special liaison of the allied government."

Adira looked at Prince Elia, who had regained his composure.

"The World Government has strongly condemned Dorag's coercion of the Kingdom of Prince into selling grain. I heard they are sending a naval admiral to hunt down the evil criminal Doragon. Do you know where the admiral is now? If he visits the Kingdom of Prince, I would be happy to welcome him on behalf of my father."

Elia smiled expectantly.

"That information is classified by the Navy, and you have no right to ask."

Vice-Admiral Adira replied coldly.

Elia didn't feel embarrassed, lightly nodded, and gestured with his hand:

"Then, Vice-Admiral Adira, the royal banquet is ready. Why don't we talk while we eat? My father wishes to meet you, and so does my brother Gross. He is a big admirer of the Navy and dreams of joining. If he saw a high-ranking naval officer like you, he would think he was dreaming."

"No need, I have other matters to attend to."

Adira shook her head and turned to leave.

Elia quickly followed, smiling, "Vice-Admiral Adira, what is so urgent that you can't even spare time for a meal? In fact, we are planning to provide financial support to Section 177 to aid in the construction of the North Sea naval base. If you are not busy..."

Adira stopped walking.

A hint of joy appeared on Elia's face.

But before he could speak, Adira turned with a frown, "Prince Elia, the Revolutionary Army issue may be beyond the control of the Kingdom of Prince, but what about the Giant Bug Pirates? I heard that Captain Mig-Jones, known for his brutality, is now cooperating with you?"

"Ah."

Elia's smile froze.

But he quickly regained it.

"Vice-Admiral Adira, Captain Mig is one of Shichibukai Moria's top men. Although he is a pirate, he is recognized by the World Government and has legal plundering rights at sea."

"Their presence in the Kingdom of Prince is merely a coincidence. According to the Shichibukai laws, the Shichibukai and allied governments, along with the Navy, are in an alliance. Normal commercial cooperation is allowed..."

"Enough, do as you see fit."

Adira's frown deepened with each word, finally leaving the royal palace with wide strides.

"Vice-Admiral Adira, don't forget the financial support for Section 177, I will send the money soon."

Elia smiled, standing at the palace gate, standing for a long time.

Half an hour later, his smile faded, and his face became expressionless.

Applause came from behind, and people of various heights and shapes came out from behind the palace, laughing as they approached Elia.

They were armed with swords and guns, indifferent to the fact that this was the royal palace of the Kingdom of Prince, all with exaggerated smiles on their faces.

"What a wonderful performance! Prince Elia, thanks to our cooperation, the Giant Bug Pirates can expand even faster. Mihahaha."

The man speaking was over four meters tall, heavily built, with a thick beard.

He had an eyepatch over his left eye, a face full of scars, a captain's hat, and a three-bladed claw on his left hand.

"Captain Mig, you flatter me. Was my hospitality satisfactory?"

Elia responded politely.

"Completely satisfied! The noble ladies of the Kingdom of Prince are truly enchanting, I didn't want to leave."

Mig-Jones patted Elia's shoulder with his large hand, leaving a dirty mark.

Elia didn't seem to mind, maintaining his composed demeanor.

"That's good then. Can you start preparing the matters we discussed, Captain Mig?"

Mig-Jones drank from a flask at his waist, then said in a displeased tone:

"Elia, you are talented, but you are too cautious."

He spread his arms as if to embrace.

"Just a small kingdom, why so cautious?"

"Why not kill your sick father or capture your only competitor for the throne, your mud-playing brother, and make yourself the sole heir?"

"When the old king dies, who else but you would inherit?"

"With my help, who in the North Sea can stop you from becoming Prince the Eighth?"

"But no, you want to follow a slow and complicated path!"

Mig-Jones spoke in a reprimanding tone.

Elia sighed, saying, "I am the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Prince, and my father has not been bad to me. I don't want to be too ruthless. I will give you the agreed payment, and an additional two billion Beli as a gift."

At the mention of two billion Beli, Mig-Jones's displeasure disappeared, and he patted Elia's shoulder forcefully.

"Mihahaha, I like your sense of loyalty. We will stay in the Kingdom of Prince to witness your coronation, Elia."

Then he left with his men, laughing.

After they left, another person appeared in the palace, moving silently.

Elia was not surprised.

"Greedy pirate with no professionalism."

The person muttered quietly, then looked at Elia.

"But your response to Adira was unexpected. What do you think? He is a Vice-Admiral and defends justice."

Elia took off his dirty clothes and threw them aside.

"Justice?"

He chuckled lightly, with a sarcastic look on his face.

"Perhaps Adira sincerely defends justice and is a good person in every way. But if the leaders are corrupt, what good is the Navy's justice?"

"No matter how beautiful their words, they can't change one fact."

"The just Navy is just a dog following the World Government."

"Justice in this era is limited as long as they support the order."

The shadowy figure was impressed, clapping hands.

"No wonder the young master values you. We shall wait and see, hehe."
