Chapter 35: Law

Inside the open city gate, the streets of the royal city were in chaos.

Houses had collapsed, and the ground was full of craters, as if hit by artillery fire.

A headless giant bear, over six meters tall and covered in black hair, stood still like a statue.

From the shattered head, thick, crimson blood gushed out like a fountain.

After a moment, the headless giant bear collapsed like a fallen mountain, causing a large cloud of dust.

Then, the black hair on its body rapidly receded, and the massive body reverted to the form of the fat man, Truel, also headless.

There was a gulp from an unknown source.

All the astonished eyes were fixed on the robust figure that landed steadily in front of Drake.

Rosha looked at Drake, who was lying on the ground with his head raised, looking at him, and paused.

"Major Drake, are you okay? Are you injured?"

Drake's old face turned red, realizing his position resembled a seal lying on the ground, seemingly trying to please Rosha.

He quickly got up, covering his mouth and coughing a few times, then looked at Rosha with a look as if he were a monster.

"Are you a monster? Not only have you mastered the Six Powers of the Navy, but you've also learned the life return technique beyond them? Who taught you this? Is there such a master in Branch 177? Is it Rear Admiral Adila?"

Drake bombarded him with a barrage of questions, making Rosha's head spin.

While Rosha was thinking about how to explain to Drake, both of them suddenly frowned and looked towards a distant part of the street.

"Have we been discovered?"

A cold voice rang out on the ruined street.

"Who is it?"

Drake cautiously gripped his weapon, ready to strike at any moment.

In their line of sight, a tall, slender figure holding a long sword appeared on the street.

The person wore a black and white spotted hat and an inconspicuous black skull T-shirt.

The officers of the Blade Unit gathered behind Drake, vigilantly watching their surroundings.

At this moment, Peacock also walked over.

A large group of giant bug pirate crew members, laughing foolishly, surrounded her, seemingly unaware that they were enemies.

The officers were not surprised by this situation.

Rosha smirked.

This is the most unreasonable part of the Devil Fruit.

These pirates were probably well trained by Peacock's Whip Whip Fruit, successfully "tamed."

But more than these changed pirates, Rosha was interested in the person walking towards them.

Because from the appearance, he recognized the person's identity.

"Trafficar Law?"

Rosha muttered involuntarily.

The person stopped and looked at Rosha strangely.

"You know me?"

Law scanned Rosha, Drake, Peacock, and the officers behind them with a scrutinizing gaze.

"You... are not pirates."

Upon hearing this, Rosha remained expressionless, but Drake's face changed slightly, his eyes filled with a noticeable killing intent towards Law.

Seeing Law approaching within five meters of them, Drake silently gripped an axe and sword at his waist.

Law glanced indifferently at Drake's tense form, not seeming to care about his actions or intent, and continued to look at Rosha.

"Tell me, how do you know me?"

"Does it matter to you?"

Rosha smiled, took two steps forward, and extended his hand towards Law.

"Pleased to meet you, my name is Rosha. Isn't it a coincidence? Our names share the same characters."

Law's eyes flickered with doubt.

Although he had formed the Heart Pirates crew several years ago with Bepo, Penguin, and Shachi, due to his childhood experiences and his profession, he had spent most of his time in a country in the North Blue, studying medicine and treating people.

Until now, he had not been listed on the Navy's wanted list.

He didn't expect anyone to recognize him so quickly, except for a particular family.

Rosha seemed to understand what Law was thinking and shook his head slightly.

"Don't worry, I have nothing to do with those people. I know you for other reasons. Anyway, this doesn't seem like the time to discuss this. Maybe we can talk somewhere else."

Law looked at Rosha for a long time, then adjusted his hat and walked towards the other side of the street, saying softly, "Follow me."

"Hey, kid, what's the mystery you're talking about? Do you know this person? He's a pirate, right? Are you sure we should follow him?"

Drake grabbed Rosha's arm and pointed to the headless body on the ground.

"Don't forget why we're here. This guy was a leader in the Giant Bug Pirates, and his death will surely anger Mig Jones. That madman will likely come here soon. Shouldn't we head to Prince's Palace quickly?"

"No rush, knowing the enemy is the key to victory in every battle."

Rosha patted Drake's shoulder. "We're new here and know nothing about this city. We need to be cautious and ask someone about the situation. That guy seems suitable for that. Don't worry, he's not an enemy, at least not now. Besides, I'm curious why he's here."

Drake looked at the chaos and bloodshed around him, the headless body, and then at Rosha, who was following Law, and sighed, "I feel this kid is unreliable. Why are we following his plan and disguising ourselves as pirates?"

"I think it's interesting and might yield useful information. By the way, what should we do with these pirates? If we take them with us, they'll be conspicuous."

Peacock pointed to the pirates following her.

Drake slowly drew his weapon and looked at the group.

"Let's kill them all. We've seen the records of the Giant Bug Pirates, and none of them are innocent. Based on their past crimes, each deserves the death penalty."

He glanced at the headless body on the ground, "We've already killed one of their leaders, so it's better to eliminate the rest too. To keep things calm. Your ability can only last for two hours now."

"Alright, let's kill them all."

Peacock nodded, looking at the pirates.

Despite the fear in their eyes, none of them tried to run or resist. They just kept smiling foolishly at the girl in front of them.

The officers drew their weapons and attacked.

And from the far end of the street, the sound of approaching footsteps could be heard.
