What a list

"I don't know about immortality but at the very least I want to make killing me really fucking hard, as close to impossible as I can get in fact." I said with a grin.

"Isn't that kinda the same thing?" he asked confused.

"More or less yeah." I said with a chuckle.

He shrugged "Whatever works for you. You gonna kill another critter or that it for you for the day?" he asked changing the subject.

"That was it for today, I'd be bored if I killed them all at once so I think I'll stretch the last few out over the next three days." I said honestly before moving to a different topic. "What about you? Got anything interesting going on?" I asked casually.

"Nah, bit of a quiet time at the moment. Not all that common but it happens." he said with a shrug.

"Cool cool, want to help me conduct some probably highly illegal and morally questionable experiments?" I asked with a grin as he froze.

"Help in what regard?' he asked suspicious.

"Not on you geez! No I need your help wrangling up some bandits so I can experiment on them with my powers, test if I can pass traits to folks already done growing, that sorta thing." I said mildly offended by the mere idea that I would treat him so cruelly despite being friends.

"Sorry about the misunderstanding can't ever be sure with people and experimentation. Tell ya what, I'll wrangle up a dozen bandits for free as a way to make up for it, sound good?" he offered and I grinned.

"That'd be swell, besides if this works out you and the old man are top of the list for some upgrades." I said with a wink.

That certainly seemed to motivate him as he wasted no time at all getting his ass in gear and high tailing it to the nearest fast travel station. I just laughed at that and made my way to the nearest jabber troop, needed traits to conduct my experiments with after all. One small round of population control later and I had six stacks of the four traits I could get from the normal members of the species [Dexterous hands-Common grade], [Clever mind-Uncommon grade], [Strong nose-Uncommon grade] and [Strong body-Common grade]. Naturally I had a few different experiments in mind with these traits.-

For example with [Strong body] I planned to test raw injection(putting the trait as is into the body) and fusion with the already existing trait of that type. As I had long since realized most creatures had a body trait of some sort in regards to their musculature. So one of my experiments was going to be seeing if giving another different body trait without fusing it to the original worked or if it needed to be fused first. I also needed to test if adding lifeforce to the target beforehand helped at all with the integration or not.-

For the other traits I was also going to be checking for any side effects after the integration should that prove successful. I already knew that [Strong nose] would cause some sensory overload but that should fade given time for the brain to adjust. The biggest one I was planning to keep an eye on was for the [Clever mind] trait. This trait directly messed with the composition of the brain so it was really fucking important to make sure giving it to someone didn't make their head explode or some ridiculous event like that.-

There was also an nonzero chance that giving the trait to a bandit might return them to sanity if they weren't already sane. I say this because some madman had actually researched bandits and discovered that only about seventy percent of them were genuinely fucked in the head. The rest were just assholes with little morals. This explained how the clans of bandits didn't somehow implode over a particularly curvy piece of wood or some other fucking weird reason. In case it wasn't clear the ones who were not fucked in the head tended to be the ones keeping everyone in the clans from killing each other for no apparent reason.-

While I doubted Clay would manage to capture any of these individuals if he did I could study how the mind trait worked on both an insane and not person. After my hunt with the Jabbers I headed back to the manor. Of course by that I mean I used my houses teleporter to get there since I was being lazy.

'It's good to be me.' I thought with a chuckle as I stripped to integrate my current stockpile of traits, except for [Energy reservoir] of course.

[Shock resistance], [Radiation resistance], [Predator muscles], [Armored hide] and [Crushing jaws] got fused into my own traits that already covered them for a small upgrade in those areas. The real changes came when I integrated [Quick thinking-Rare grade], [Elemental body(shock)-Rare grade], [Regeneration-Epic grade] and [Hyperflexibility-Rare grade]. My brain shut off directly when I integrated [Quick thinking] but I had sort of expected this given my experience with [Clever mind] which was a whole grade lower. When I woke up after the integration was complete the change wasn't qualitative so much as quantitative. [Quick thinking] didn't improve the way my brain solved problems so much as how fast it did it.-

To explain this in an easy to understand way if before I thought at a speed of one thought per second now I thought at three thoughts per second. WHAT I thought hadn't been changed but how much I thought in the same time span had. I won't lie this REALLY fucked with my head for a minute or two as it was almost like my perception of time had been skewed as it felt like every second was now longer than before. It also explained how the creature I got the trait from had been able to adjust to it's circumstances so fast.-

The potential of this trait had me salivating as I theorized immediately that if raised enough this trait could provide a sort of pseudo-prescience(seeing the future). In theory if I could make enough observations in a short enough span of time I could predict the outcome before it ever happened which would render me basically untouchable. Naturally that was a FAR in the future type deal so I didn't focus for all too long. [Regeneration] fused with [Minor regeneration] since it was obviously the higher version of it and besides a sort of tingle all over my body nothing really happened.-

That was to be expected however as it was a passive trait that only did something upon injury so I wasn't bothered by it. [Hyperflexibility] was entirely fucking different as the moment I integrated it my entire musculature BURNED. My previously protruding and slightly cumbersome muscles compacted and toned down without losing any potency as my body was forcefully made ludicrously flexible. I had gone from looking kinda bulky to just a hair away from twig-like which was off putting to say the least.-

Still I couldn't say I didn't approve of my new figure as it was tight and efficient with few places where claws or blades could catch easy. When I integrated the shock variant of [Elemental body] I got a rather unusual sensation as my tattoos stretched slightly over my right shoulder. If I had to describe it I'd say it was almost like an attraction between the shock and fire [Elemental body] traits. At the same time there was this feeling of incompatibility as well that I quickly figured out the cause of. The two traits COULD fuse however I needed other traits as well and to top it off they all had to reach the same grade as well.-

This was going to prove a pain in the ass to pull off as the fire variant was Legendary grade and the shock was merely Rare. If I wasn't wrong there was also a cryo and corrosive [elemental body] trait that ALSO had to be fucking legendary grade for the fusion. Needless to say that was going in the "way the fuck in the future" list of things to do right next to collecting all the siren power traits.-

I tested the difference between the rare grade shock body and legendary grade flame one and there was no fucking comparison. The legendary grade trait allowed me to(if a bit unsafely) approach the peak possible intensity of that elemental damage type. The rare grade shock trait though got me nowhere NEAR the intensity of weak lightning much less the pinnacle of the stuff. Don't get me wrong I still gave off a lethal amount of electricity but I couldn't compare to a bolt of the weakest lightning possible. I assumed that I would require at least the epic grade trait to reach that point and who the fuck knew how many rare grade versions of the trait it would take to get that upgrade.-

Still it was nice to know that if I wanted to I could jump start a car by pressing two fingers on the battery. Much like the flame version I could also control whether the element came from a single point on my body or all of it. I was sorta tempted to taze somebody with a handshake which was an impulse I pushed down hard. With this round of integrations down I got dressed again and left my house after "feeding" my pet egg some lifeforce.-

The next three days kinda blurred together as even my "fights" with the beasts in the arena were lackluster and boring. I did get some more traits though so that was worth mentioning. [Radiation resistance-Epic grade]- 20,000 units , [Energetic sustenance(radiation)-Epic grade]- 20,000 units, [Powerful muscles-Rare grade]-5,000 units, [Supreme armored hide-Epic grade]- 20,000 units, [Shock resistance-Epic grade]- 20,000 units x2, [Sharp vision-Rare grade]- 5,000 units, [Energetic sustenance(shock)-Epic grade]- 20,000 units, [Elemental body(shock)-Rare grade]- 5,000 units, [Strong circulation-Epic grade]- 20,000 units, [Minor spatial awareness-Epic grade]- 20,000 units.-

Honestly speaking all of the beasts just had repeats of the previous ones I had harvested already or traits I had no use for. Besides the Shadower that had the last two traits listed that is, not that it made the fight any less pathetic as the shitty thing keeled over after a single headshot. Anyways I integrated all of this into my already integrated traits to get a nice general boost in those traits. [Strong circulation] was a bit different in that it actually increased the richness of my blood so my body was now WAY more efficient with everything I put in it. [Minor spatial awareness] was kinda funky as it let me perceive an area of space around my body in every direction vaguely, it was hard to describe it better than generalized omnipresence.
