**POV Randy**
I panicked when I couldn't hear Aisha's voice on the other end of the phone. "Aisha! Aisha, are you still there?" I shouted, hoping she would respond. But there was only silence. My heart sank. I rushed out of my office and headed straight to the parking lot. Once I found my car, I jumped in and sped towards the address Aisha had sent me.
I drove at breakneck speed, not caring about the curses from other drivers I nearly sideswiped. "Sorry, sorry! This is an emergency!" I muttered to myself, as if the people I nearly hit could hear me. I tried to calm myself down. When I arrived at the abandoned house, I stood there for a moment, stunned. "What is Aisha doing in a place like this?" I thought. The house looked eerie and neglected. But I quickly remembered that Aisha was still inside.
Breathing heavily, I entered the house, calling her name. "Aisha! Aisha, where are you?" No response. My heart pounded faster, and terrible thoughts flashed through my mind. I checked every room in the house. "Aisha, answer me! Where are you?" Then, in one of the rooms, I saw Aisha lying on the floor.
"Aisha!" I yelled, rushing to her side. I was shocked to see her in such a dreadful condition. Her clothes were torn, her hair disheveled, her lips bleeding, and bruises were visible on her body. "Oh God, Aisha... who did this to you?" I asked, my voice trembling. I quickly knelt beside her, calling her name and gently shaking her. "Aisha, wake up! It's me, Randi. Please, wake up, darling!"
After a moment, her eyes fluttered open. "Randi..." her voice was weak, barely a whisper. "What happened, Aisha? Who did this to you?" I asked again, desperate for answers. But before she could respond, Aisha passed out again.
I panicked. "No! Aisha, hang in there!" Without hesitation, I scooped her up and carried her to my car. "I'm taking you to the hospital. Everything will be okay." I drove to the nearest hospital as fast as I could. In the car, I kept glancing at Aisha, who lay limp in the passenger seat. "We're almost there, Aisha. Please hold on..."
As soon as we arrived at the hospital, I ran inside carrying Aisha. "Help! Someone, help! She's badly hurt!" Nurses quickly took Aisha on a stretcher. I could only stand outside the emergency room, my heart filled with worry and anger.
"Who could do this to you, Aisha? I won't let them get away with it," I muttered, clenching my fists.
A nurse approached me. "Are you a family member?"
"Yes, I'm her boyfriend. How is she, nurse?" I asked anxiously.
"We're doing our best. Please be patient and take care of the paperwork first," the nurse replied before heading back into the emergency room.
After completing all the paperwork, I could only wait with a heavy heart. Aisha's injured face kept haunting my mind. I felt angry, scared, and helpless all at once. Time seemed to crawl by, every second filled with tension.
Not long after, a doctor came out of the emergency room. "Are you Aisha's family?"
"Yes, I'm her boyfriend. How is she, Doctor?" I asked quickly.
"She has sustained several serious injuries and is in a very weakened state. We'll be moving her to the intensive care unit for further observation," the doctor said calmly but firmly.
"Is she going to be okay?" I asked, my voice full of hope.
"We're doing our best. For now, you can wait in the waiting room. We'll update you if there are any changes," the doctor replied.
I nodded and thanked him before walking to the waiting room. There, I sat down, trying to calm myself. My mind was racing, thinking about what to do next. I had to find out who had hurt Aisha.
While waiting in the hospital's waiting room, my phone rang loudly. I quickly picked it up and saw that it was Aisha's mom, Aunt Maya. Hesitantly, I answered the call.
"Hello, Aunt Maya," I said quietly.
"Randy, is Aisha with you? I've been trying to reach her, but she hasn't answered," she asked, her voice filled with worry.
In a weak voice, I replied, "Yes, Auntie. Aisha is with me. Her phone died because the battery ran out."
"Thank goodness, Randy," Aunt Maya said, sounding slightly relieved. "I was so worried."
But I knew I had to tell her the truth. "Auntie, Aisha is at Harmony Health Hospital right now."
Her voice immediately turned anxious. "What? What happened, Randy? Why is she in the hospital?"
I took a deep breath before answering. "I'm not entirely sure, Auntie. Aisha called me to pick her up at an abandoned house. When I got there, I found her unconscious on the floor."
"What? An abandoned house? What was she doing there?" Aunt Maya asked, her voice panicked.
"I don't know, Auntie. I was shocked to find her like that," I replied, trying to stay calm despite my own turmoil.
"Alright, Randy. I'll be there right away. Please take care of her," she said before hanging up.
A while later, I saw Aunt Maya rushing in, calling my name. "Randy! Randy!" her voice sounded desperate and worried.
I immediately stood up and approached her. "Aunt Maya, over here!" I called. She came over, out of breath.
"How is Aisha, Randy? Have you heard anything from the doctors?" she asked, her voice trembling.
I shook my head slightly. "No updates yet, Auntie. I'm still waiting."
Aunt Maya nodded, trying to calm herself. "Thank you, Randy. Thank you for being here for Aisha."
At that moment, the doctor who treated Aisha approached us. "Good evening, I'm Dr. Andi. I'm the doctor who examined Aisha," he introduced himself.
"How is Aisha, Doctor?" Aunt Maya asked hopefully.
Dr. Andi took a deep breath before explaining. "Medically, Aisha has several serious bruises and cuts. Her lips are injured, possibly from a blow or impact. We also found several bruises on her body, indicating physical assault."
Aunt Maya covered her mouth with her hand, tears streaming down her face. "Oh my God, who could do this to my daughter?"
Dr. Andi continued, "Aisha also suffered severe shock from the trauma she experienced. We've given her initial treatment and ensured there are no internal injuries that could threaten her life. Fortunately, her condition is stable now."
I breathed a sigh of relief, though my heart still felt heavy. "Is Aisha awake, Doctor?" I asked.
"Yes, she's awake. We'll be moving her to the inpatient ward. You can see her once she's settled," Dr. Andi replied.
Aunt Maya nodded, though her tears continued to flow. "Thank you, Doctor. Thank you for taking care of Aisha."
"It's our duty, ma'am. We'll continue to monitor her condition," Dr. Andi said before leaving.
Aunt Maya and I headed to the inpatient ward. I felt relieved that Aisha was awake, but worry still clouded my mind. "Aunt Maya, we need to support Aisha."
Aunt Maya looked at me, trying to smile despite her tear-streaked face. "Yes, Randy. Thank you for being here. We'll get through this together."
When the door to the inpatient ward opened, we entered and saw Aisha lying in bed, her eyes slowly opening. "Aisha, we're here," I said, approaching her.
"Aisha, sweetheart, how are you feeling?" Aunt Maya asked, her voice soft but filled with worry.
Aisha looked at us with weak eyes. "Randy, Mom..." she whispered. Then she started crying, hitting her chest as if possessed.
I tried to get closer to comfort her, but she pushed me away. "Don't come near me, Randy... Please don't... I'm so dirty," she screamed hysterically.
Hearing her words, I was confused and wondered what she meant by saying she was dirty.
