chapter 10

"Mother!" Isabella screamed, her voice echoing off the cold walls as she rushed towards the cell. Her mother, Mrs. Williams, sat on the filthy floor, her once-beautiful wedding dress now stained and tattered. She looked like a shadow of her former self, her eyes sunken, her skin pale and clammy. Her hair was matted and dirty, and her body seemed to be slumped in defeat. Isabella's heart broke as she took in the sight of her mother's suffering.

Isabella tried to rush to her mother's side, but two burly guards blocked her path, their arms crossed like iron bars. They stood like giants, their faces stern and unyielding, their eyes cold and hard as stone.
