chapter 29

Damian and Isabella left the party early, their steps hurried as the night stretched on. The cool breeze brushed against them as they made their way back to the pack house. As soon as they arrived, Alpha Damian, with a stern expression, disappeared into his room without a word, leaving Isabella standing alone in hallway.

The house was eerily silent. It was late—far past the time when most would still be awake. The faint sounds of distant crickets were the only things filling the night air. Isabella stood for a moment, feeling the weight of the solitude.

With a soft sigh, she turned toward her own room. Each door she passed was closed, the pack members already deep in sleep. She reached her room and quietly opened the door, the creak of the hinges sounding louder than usual in the stillness.

Isabella closed the door gently behind her, shutting out the world outside, and finally let herself relax.
