47. An Unwelcomed Visitor

Boring competition? The Otis students and the teachers watching all smiled despite

themselves. Having done so well in a competition that they had all wanted to win, he just

called it boring. Well, there was no doubt that geniuses saw things differently.

Mr. Harvey had been teaching for many years. Now, one of his students had finally won a

prize at the mathematical competition, and it was the highest one awarded. He was very

excited and took little notice of Aiden's words, agreeing with a gentle smile.

That afternoon, when Aiden returned to the Midnight Snack restaurant, Morris and his

wife were also shocked by the words, Special Prize. Son, did you really win this? Are you

sure you didn't borrow it from someone else just to trick us? Aiden rolled his eyes at

them and went upstairs. His parents were thrilled with him.

Aiden, who had never done well at school, had taken home the big prize today. The two

of them wanted to tell everyone in the city. Should we make Aiden carry on studying in

the future or let him develop his business in the restaurant? Unexpectedly, the couple

had a new problem, but it was a nice problem to have The next morning, the hoot of the removal van sounded outside

Midnight Snack restaurant. Aiden had decided that his family's equipment, cooking

utensils, and so on were long since outdated. They would get new ones with the move to

East Street.

However, Morris and Clara could not bear to part with their old furniture and were hiring a removal van to take it to East Street. Finally, everything was loaded in. The neighbors

on the street had heard that the Midnight Snack restaurant was moving and came by

with mixed emotions.

They were glad that they had lost a powerful competitor, but at the same time, couldn't

help but feel a little sad. Hood, who had been in the meat business with the Dale family

for more than 10 years, came to see them off. He asked sadly, Where are you planning

to move to? It's not far.

The new restaurant is still on this side of the city. Where is it exactly? I'll drop by when I

can. East Street Hood choked on his saliva and kept coughing.

Which is East Street? Are there two? Realizing where they were going, Hood said with a

voice full of emotion, You're going to be rich! Don't forget about your old neighbors from

the street! More and more neighbors came to see them off. The atmosphere became a

little emotional and nostalgic. Although they had had the odd conflict with neighbors, the

Midnight Snack restaurant had been there for decades.

Only when they were about to leave did the couple realize how reluctant they were.

Clara, who was feeling sentimental, hugged a few women from her coffee circle and

started crying. It was not until almost noon that the removal company took the Dale

family away from the old street and headed to bustling East Street.

East Street was the busiest shopping street in Bayside District and had several equally

prosperous streets off it. The restaurant that Anthony K had given Aiden was located on

a corner on the best part of the road. Pedestrians would be passing at all times.

Any restaurant opening here would attract a lot of attention. Although they had seen the

photos of the restaurant before, when they arrived in front of it, the Dales were still

shocked. In the middle of the restaurant were two tall glass doors with no frames.

Bright curved glass extended from the sides of the two doors for dozens of yards,

occupying almost the entire street corner. No matter which direction they looked from,

they could see everything inside the restaurant through the glass. When they went in,

they were shocked by the huge space inside.

The space on the first floor was about 20 times the size of the previous small restaurant

at the Midnight Snack restaurant, not to mention the incomparably huge kitchen. When

Morris touched the brand new cooking utensils in the kitchen and saw the electronic

steamers, ovens, and other facilities, he could not help crying. He had never thought

that he would one day be working with such advanced appliances.

Aiden looked at the obviously improved kitchen environment. At first, he was stunned,

but then he could not help smiling. It seemed that Anthony K. had taken the family's

needs into consideration and changed the interior decoration of the unit into a restaurant.

Perhaps he had been afraid that Aiden would refuse, so he hadn't told him about it. No

wonder it had taken him so long to get the unit ready.

It was not just the lobby and the kitchen on the first floor. The

second floor was also equipped with beautiful tables and chairs, and there were even a

few elegant private rooms. The decor of the entire restaurant was no less luxurious than

at St. Lancey's that he had visited before.

On the third floor were three spacious apartments. The Dales could live in these or let

their future employees live there. After looking over the entire restaurant, the Dales

were smiling, delighted with it.

While they were still planning how to arrange it all and where everything should go,

there was a sharp shout from the door downstairs. Is anyone in? When Aiden and his

parents came to the door, they found a man in a white suit with a pale face and no

beard. In one hand, he held a delicate handkerchief with which he covered his nose.

He looked at the pile of things in the hall in disgust and frowned. What a pile of trash! Is

this a garbage recycling station? Aiden frowned and looked at the rude man. He said

coldly, What do you want? My restaurant is not open for guests yet.

I'm not your guest! Don't kid yourself! The man took out a bottle of scent and sprayed it

on himself as if he needed to rid himself of the smell around him. He sniffed his hand in

satisfaction. Are you the manager of this restaurant? He asked Aiden.

Aiden had signed the transfer agreement, so he could be considered the manager in

name. He nodded, not wanting to say anything more to this unwanted visitor. Very good!

My name is Ed Flower.

You can call me Flower. The corner of Aiden's mouth twitched. The name really suited

him.

I may look young, but I am the manager of Nick's Shoes opposite you. Aiden's frown

deepened. Morris and Clara stood as if frozen.

Nick's Shoes was a well-known brand of sports shoe, famous internationally. It was one

of the most expensive and best brands sold in the city. If Ed Flower was the manager of

such a big brand, he was obviously not an idiot.

But his sudden visit and rude attitude made them suspicious of his intentions. I asked

the K Group about this unit a few days ago. They said that they had rented it to someone

else.

I suppose they must have been talking about you. The Dales looked mutinous. No one likes to be insulted.

Don't get angry. Just listen to me first. I just want to rent this shop as a branch of Nick's

Shoes.

I'll give you three times as much as you're paying now. You won't lose out. So, is it a

deal? Ed Flower smiled confidently.

He was sure these guys in front of him would not be able to refuse his offer. It did not

occur to him that the Dales wouldn't be moved. Morris and his wife were thinking to

themselves.

We got this restaurant for free. So three times that is nothing. They were worried that

Anthony K would be unhappy if they rented the shop to someone else.

Aiden was even more direct. He pointed at the door and said, I'll give you three seconds.

Get out.

You suckers. You don't know your limits. Ed Flower was so angry that his face turned red.

He pointed at the three Dales and spluttered with rage. Get out of here. Morris picked up

a spatula and threw it at Ed Flower.

Flower dodged. His face distorted with fury. Just you wait.

You'll pay for crossing me. Ed Flower left in a sorry state, hurling insults behind him.
