Before The Beginning [4]

Rain's breath quickened.

The cave was collapsing, the exit shrinking with every passing second.

He didn't have much time. Yet, despite the impending danger, his mind was consumed with a single thought.

How?

How was this wretched Chen Fen still standing? Rain had hit him with everything, yet he remained unyielding, as if mocking him.

'Is he truly fearless?'

Chen Fen, eyes brimming with contempt, wasn't fazed in the least. His gaze was locked on Rain's hand, where the small jade box remained clenched tightly.

"I'll say it one more time. Give me the treasure." His voice was filled with vicious glee, as if already victorious.

Rain felt a surge of anger and despair rise within him. He knew all too well that Chen Fen didn't even know what treasure was inside. But the desperation in Rain's actions must have tipped him off. Whatever Rain was holding, it had to be valuable.

And now, Chen Fen wanted it.
