Chapter 1:- Ruins

….So, Here we go…..

I stepped forward into the ruins alone, it was like a tunnel. I had this weird feeling, but these bursts of emotions are something I don't understand. As I kept moving forward, I was able to see the exit. It was pitch black; the only source of light was the moon light. As I was about to exit the tunnel, I had the same pain as before. But it was something else, I was able to sense the fountain in the center of ruins, but with a sense of uneasiness I kept moving. And the moment I entered the ruins, I was greeted by a unexpected host three times of my size and his choice of weapon a club.

….That was close…..

….Is that a Golem?.....

As the Golem swing another hit from his massive club, I was able to avoid a critical hit, but doing so cost me my arm. It was fast for it's size. And now, I was able to understand what the ruins is.

….It is a Colosseum…. Maybe that was the reason, Mira was forbidden to tell anything. Because it is a ground for fighting and if the challenger knows about it, they may not come inside the colosseum.

As, I was standing still and startled the golem said something.

"Krn ne e l"

…..What are you saying?.....

The golem was not happy on my reply and swung his club towards my head. I was able to avoid the hit, and in the meantime my arm grew back.

"KRN NE EA EA LE"

….I am really sorry. But I don't understand, what you are saying?... I quickly scanned my area and was able to find a great sword. I quickly ran towards the great sword, while dashing underneath the golem. And as soon as I touched the hilt of the great sword, a voice appeared.

As soon as these words were heard, all the torches in the colosseum ignited. Making the field more visible and that made me realize, this colosseum is filled with statues of golem holding weapons.

…..I cannot wait anymore. I must move forward…. I quickly grabbed the great sword and plunged towards the golem. I cannot possibly defeat someone like this, I must try to survive and get out of the colosseum. ...Or Instead get inside to the fountain…..

…..The exits are closed till the victor is announced…..

…..This body can take any damage and heal the wounds, as long as I can save my core it is all good. I don't have much time to spare. I must take action before….

Before even I was able to finish my statement, that sense of pain appeared again, but rather than pain, this time it showed me something. I was able to see the movement of the golem. Like it was slower than before. But with that, I also detected an aura, it was coming from the fountain. And just for one second, I got distracted and the golem hit me with his club, sending me across the colosseum. To think I would live with any damage as long as my core is all okay was a mistake.

I have never used my element. From the moment I became self-aware. To think I would have to use it, I must fight with everything I got. I covered the great sword with my body and absorbed it. My species can create anything, they have once consumed. But not only that, I can modify and even infuse it with a part of me. I made a much slimmer version of the great sword at this point it is a just a long blade. With this blade, which was neither heavy and nor restricting me from getting into speedy movement. I was quickly able to dodge the golem and was able to locate its core.

…..The Core, is within the Rock Shell on its chest….

I will need to move more faster to reach it. I will need an even lighter weapon or something that can shoot on a projectile. That statue has a bow, I must take it before the golem takes any action.

"R A W R R R R R"

The Golem, threw his club at me. And punched his hands in the ground, to pull out a claymore. I was not prepared for this, and quickly dashed towards the bow on the statue. The golem was behind me, his stature was smaller than before, it was still twice times my size.

….Wait, the core, it's colour is changing to purple. I have never seen something like this….

As I said this, the golem launched itself towards me, with the claymore. But not only its size was small, it became fast and more agile. And also, his speech was clearer than before.

"K N E E E E L"

….Pardon me Sir, I am terrible at English….

"You dare mock me, you insect." The Golem slashed the air making a claw like shape of wind blades, destroying all the lands in between me and him.

….How are you this strong? You were not having this much magical energy a while ago, Unless….

….Unless you are a remanent of some sort…. This is bad, to think that I will encounter a remanent. I have never seen a remanent, but I know about them like, I have known many.

…..Who am I?....

"T TT To think, that a weak insect like you, knows what I am?"

…It is indeed a good offer sir, but you see, I am not in a hurry to get myself killed….

The Golem followed me and just as I was about to reach the Bow, He slammed me using his Claymore, just for me to be thrown into a body of liquid substance, that was dark and warm. The hit, from that Golem sent me straight inside the very place I needed to reach.

But what is the use now, my consciousness is fading now, I cannot stay still. *Thud* My Consciousness sank in the fountain.

"Puny Insect, got killed."

"I was having fun, but it can't be helped. Rest well insect"

Just as the Golem turned its back towards the fountain, he was greeted with an arrow, infused with mana and fire magic.

"WHAT??" *Thud*

"My core is broken. Who dare tries to hunt me? COME FORTH"

The golem falls and, saw a face that was familiar yet unfamiliar. 

Rising from, the fountain was a Humanoid Being. A boy with a slender yet muscular body, who knows how to hold weapon, Who KNOWS Death?

"Puny Insect, you are alive."

…..You dare call me an Insect...

"You are fun, and thank you."

…..What you mean?..... As I said this, the golem body broke down. There was nothing but broken rubble. Saying this I jumped forward and was standing on top of the rubble. Something tried to grab my leg.

With my new body, I was able to react on time and jumped out of the rubble. And noticed the thing that grabbed my hand. It was a hand but a humanoid one.

"Well, thank you for this body."

…..You are a remanent….

"You can evolve, why can't I? And beside only my stature and speech are the only thing with a considerable change. Everything is same."

…..You look more human now….

"Can't say I know what you are talking about."

….You don't know Humans?.....

"Last contestant came five thousand years ago. I became a remanent thousand years ago."

….So, since you sent me inside the fountain yourself which was your dusty to protect. I suppose you and I are not enemies…..

"I mean, I got no problem with that. But you see I got bored and now I want to have some fun. This body would never be revealed without your help. So I must have my fair share of trills for a while. Don't you thinkkkkk."

Saying this, Golem sent a blade toward me. Probably aimed to the wall next to me. But the impact was alone enough to cut a small cut on my cheek.

"Pick it Up"
