Inside the clock tower, there was a meeting between the major factions of Barthomeloi, Trambelio, and Melustaea. They were discussing about the divine power that they could feel from Japan. It was so enormous that their device was broken just from detecting it.

Their ancestor had created it due to something that happened in the past. And there was even an instruction that if the device could detect divine power and was broken, they needed to be prepared for the worst outcome possible. Even the grand magus might not be able to save their ass.

And what is a grand magus? They were those who could destroy a whole nation by themselves. They are monsters among the monsters, but they would be insignificant if they were to confront whatever the device detected.

The headmaster of the clock tower couldn't help but narrow her eyes. She then spoke with an authoritative voice.

"A god in this era—how could that be possible?

The headmaster of the clock tower was a young woman named Lorelai. She was from the Barthomeloi family.

Barthomeloi Lorelai was raised to the position of master of the clock tower because the last one ditched his job and went to do his own thing. He said it was for the greater good and threw all of his duties on her.

She didn't complain because it was her dream to become the master of the clock tower, so their family would be in a higher position than the other two families.

But who would have thought that when she got the position? Something absurd like this would happen. It was like the previous master of the tower knew it, and thus he ran away!

The other heads of the two biggest families didn't know about it either. They heard from their family ancestor about the device that could detect the divine power of the gods. But they didn't know what gods it detected or how strong the god was.

"What should we do then? Should we confront it or ask every magus to return to the tower and wait for the god to go away?"

One of the lords in the Barthomeloi factions asked. He was curious about what they should do from now on.

Lorelai pondered the options, realizing that confronting the unknown god could potentially lead to disastrous consequences.

So they could only avoid it for now.

"Call all of the magus back to your family. And no one should confront the god directly."

Lorelai finally spoke, her voice filled with chilling air. No one dared to question her.

"We must prioritize safety first and gather as much information as we can before taking any further action."

All the heads of the families nodded in agreement, understanding the situation. They knew that acting rashly could endanger not only themselves but also their entire community.

They agreed to focus on gathering intelligence and planning their moves.

Lorelai then ended the meeting. As the families dispersed, Lorelai couldn't shake off the feeling of uneasiness.

"Should I go to Japan and observe the situation there? Wait, aren't the Matou family and Tohsaka family there? I can order them to investigate it for me."

Lorelai then contacted the two families directly. As the master of the clock tower, she had many means to contact them directly.

"Hum, why didn't they accept the call?"

Lorelai wondered, Normally, they would accept the call immediately because they were afraid that the tower might see them as uncooperative or suspicious. And the tower was cruel to the one they thought was doing something bad to them.

However, this time, it seemed different. Perhaps something urgent had come up that prevented them from answering the call.

Lorelai decided to give them some time and try contacting them again later if they still didn't accept the call. She would do it herself.

As she waited and mulled over what she should do next, there was a call from the Tohsaka family. She answered the call.

"Moshi Moshi. Due to many reasons, the head of the Tohsaka family couldn't make a call for now. If you have anything to say, you can say it to me!"

"Who are you? Do you know who I am?"

Lorelai was surprised that someone other than the head of the family called back to her. It was considered rude to have someone call her instead of themselves. The number she used was the one everyone in the mage's association should know.

"Huh? Me? My name is Sullivan Morningstar. And why are you asking me who you are, and how could I know who you are? Maybe you can check your name on your ID."

"You!"

Lorelai was very angry now. No one had ever treated her like this before. She then angrily spoke through gritted teeth.

"I am Lorelai Barthomeloi, the current head of the clock tower. How dare you speak to me in such a disrespectful manner!"

"Oh, so you are some bigwig from the clock tower? Nah, I don't care."

Lorelai felt her blood boiling, and when she was about to explode, she felt that someone was inside her office. She looked back and saw that it was an old man she knew very well.

"Grand Marshal, you are back."

Grand Marshal, or Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg. Zelrectch, for short, didn't answer her, but he spoke to the one she spoke with.

"I like your joke, hehe. Do you want to come to the clock tower!"

Lorelai was surprised and afraid at the same time. Grand Marshal Zelrectch was well known for his pranking spree. This time, he invited someone who was very rude to her. What was inside his mind right now?
