"Huh" A boy with black hair woke up from a bed, his room was small but it was enough to accommodate him, near his bed was a drawer filled with his clothes.
"Where am i?" The boy asked, his memories a kaleidoscope of turbulent fragments, he unconsciously went down his bed and went out of the door to only find a dark and empty void in front of him.
"Tod" he suddenly said, he was familiar with that name, he was Tod a teenage boy. "Ah i see, i slept and got transported here" He said as he started remembering his past life.
"I am an orphan and i was sleeping inside a trashcan but now i am here, strange?" he said looking around nothing.
"But where is here" He asked seemingly nothing, Suddenly in front of him, there was something carving itself. "I am in the Abyss?" The words in front of him were written in complete black but he could still see it.
"So there is nothing here?" This time he didn't get an answer but it was pretty obvious. "I'll take that as a yes" He didn't know what to looking at because there was simply darkness.
"Can you at least give me something to do?" Suddenly another word was marked infront of him. "What is 1+1 equals too?, Really…Fine it's two" After he answered correctly, a fishing tod hit his head. "oww?!" he said looking at the fishing rod.
"Wait?, i can fish in the abyss?!" Tod asked with skepticism, he didn't think too much about it and grabbed the rod.
He checked it and saw it was black colored, instead of a hook there was a small purple crystal on it. "Seems suspicious, but whatever, let's go Abyssfishing"
!" Tod cast the line into the void, the purple crystal glowing faintly as it sank into the darkness. He waited, the silence around him almost deafening.
Minutes passed, maybe hours, but time felt irrelevant in the Abyss. Just as he started to lose hope, he felt a tug on the line. "Finally!" he exclaimed, reeling in with all his strength.
As he pulled, the darkness seemed to swirl and shift. Out of the void emerged a strange and small orb. "Whats this?" Suddenly another word appeared in front of him. it was "Eat"
"huh…Well i am hungry" Without much thought he tossed it into his mouth, he chewed and it broke making a strange liquid go down his throat and reached his stomach.
"ugh i feel like barfing," Tod muttered, clutching his stomach. The liquid felt like it was burning through him, but not in a painful way. Instead, it was as if it was changing him from the inside out. His vision blurred, and he fell to his knees, gasping for breath.
Moments later, the pain subsided, replaced by a strange sense of emptiness, yes he felt empty as if something deep within him transformed into something unrecognizable.
For some reason he could now 'see' the darkness around him, as if his senses had expanded beyond the normal realm. The Abyss no longer felt like a void; it felt alive, pulsating with hidden energies and whispers that only he could hear.
"Whoa," Tod whispered, staring into the inky blackness. "What just happened to me?"
Words etched themselves into the air once more, "You are now part of the Abyss."
"huh nice i guess" After saying that, Tod went back to fishing.
Tod cast the line again, feeling an odd sense of purpose despite the absurdity of his situation. Each time the purple crystal sank into the darkness, he felt a deeper connection to the Abyss, as if the void itself was watching him.
After several uneventful casts, he felt another strong tug. This time, he reeled in with even more determination. As the line came up, a shimmering object emerged from the void.
"A chessboard filled with all the pieces, Ehat does this do?" Tod took the board and flipped it upside down, The pieces didn't fall off. A few words appeared in the air in front of him.
"Living chess board to elevate boredom"
Tod read aloud, raising an eyebrow. "Well, this is getting more bizarre by the minute."
He placed the chessboard on the ground, watching as the pieces started to move on their own, positioning themselves for a game. The white pieces lined up on one side, and the black pieces on the other.
Tod sat cross-legged before the board, examining the setup. He had played chess before, but never with pieces that moved on their own. He hesitated, then reached out to move a pawn. The piece moved smoothly, as if gliding on ice.
"Okay, let's see what you've got," he challenged the board.
To his surprise, the black pieces responded immediately, moving a knight into play. The game progressed, each move feeling more intense than the last. The pieces seemed to anticipate his strategy, countering his moves with uncanny precision.
As the game unfolded, Tod noticed something peculiar. With each move, the pieces emitted faint whispers, barely audible but persistent. He leaned in, trying to catch what they were saying. It sounded like a chorus of voices, all speaking at once, their words blending into an unintelligible murmur.
"Good game" A small girlish voice said and the. it disappeared, the chess board went back into its usual position. "Huh, is there someone in the abyss besides me?"
"Outer Beings" He read aloud the words in front of him, he was confused what are outer beings.
He didn't question it anymore and went back to fishing, Stranely after eating that orb he didn't feel tired, in fact he felt nothing and everything at the same time, like he has transcended his very being.
As Tod continued fishing in the Abyss, the surreal nature of his surroundings became more familiar. The void no longer seemed hostile or indifferent; it felt like a living, breathing entity that interacted with him in ways he couldn't fully comprehend.
"Outer beings, huh?" Tod mused, casting his line again. "Wonder what that means."
After a while, he felt another strong tug on the line. He reeled in with anticipation, his mind racing with possibilities. This time, he pulled up a small island thay fits in his arm.
Curiosity piqued, Tod examined the miniature island in his palm. It was a perfect, intricate replica, complete with tiny trees, hills, and a little pond. As he turned it over in his hand, the island began to glow softly, casting a gentle light in the surrounding darkness.
Words appeared in front of him once more: "Grow."
"Grow? How do I…?" Tod began, but as he spoke, the island started to expand, slipping from his grasp. It floated before him, enlarging until it was the size of a small room. The pond shimmered, and the tiny trees rustled as if stirred by an unseen breeze.
The island was an extension to his own house. "Cool, at least there is more space here." Tod said nodding his head in approval, he was still weirded out by this whole situation.
He sat on the edge of the new island and continued fishing. After what seemed to be hours in which Tod didn't feel an ounce of tiredness, the rod finally caught something.
Tod reeled it up and what he saw was another orb. "Eat" The words from earlier appeared again
Tod hesitated, eyeing the orb with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. He had learned from the last experience that eating these mysterious orbs could bring about unexpected changes.
"Well, here goes nothing," Tod said, forcing himself to take a bite. As he chewed, the familiar burning sensation returned, this time even more intense. It was as though his entire being was being rearranged at a fundamental level. Afte a few hours yes hours, the burning subsided and Tod was laying on the island while groaning.
"That was not fun, What did that do to me this time anyways?" As he asked that question, the abyss answered. "Wings,Flight" Tod blinked and suddenly he felt the sounds of chains coming from his back
Around each of his shoulders were three chains, each one ending in an elegant, ethereal wing. They were large and opalescent, shimmering with an iridescent glow. He tentatively flapped them, feeling an unfamiliar yet exhilarating lift.
As Tod experimented with his new wings, he found himself hovering a few inches above the ground, then gaining more altitude as he flapped more confidently. The feeling of flight was liberating, almost like he was part of the Abyss's fabric itself, gliding through the void.
"Wow," Tod said, marveling at his new ability. "This is incredible. I can actually fly in the Abyss."
He then landed back down and then retracted his wings into his back. "Looks like i can hide them" Tod said and then happily went back to Abyss fishing.
Tod noticed the time limit to fishing seemed to have increased a lot, he did not mind it since he found this fun. After countless hours, the rod finally tugged and Tod reeled it up.
What he got was a swirling small vortex, When Tod touched it, it disappeared and then he got information in his mind how to open rifts and form a vortex for an easier return back home if he ventured out too far into the Abyss.
"So..You want me to explore more of the Abyss?" Tod thought as he opened his hand making a small dark swirling vortex appear.
"Gather AP Energy " The words wrote themselves on the air
Tod, curious as ever, decided to test his new ability. He focused on the vortex in his hand, feeling the strange energy pulse through him. "AP Energy… What could that mean?"
He opened a small rift, just large enough to peek through. Beyond the rift, the Abyss stretched endlessly, filled with swirling shadows and faint glimmers of light. Taking a deep breath, Tod stepped through the rift and found himself in a different part of the Abyss.
"What is this place?" Tod asked looking around the darkness. "The higher parts of thr Abyss?, Makes sense, this place isn't that dark" He said looking at the words.
The faint glimmering lights were orbs of blue light. "Collect 100 Ap Energy and return back"
"Doesn't soud bad" Tod widened his winds, stretching it for a bit, then he flew to the energy near him and then touched it. "One down 99 to go"
Tod flew towards the next and the next, some were bigger than rest, some were joined together.
"38..39..40..41….50" After collecting about Fifty of them, Tod saw a floating island. he was curious and decided to go see it, after some seconds he landed on it
The island was larger than the one he had fished up earlier, with lush greenery and a serene pond at its center. Strange flowers glowed softly in the dim light, and the air was filled with a faint, pleasant fragrance. It felt like a sanctuary within the abyss.
Tod wandered around, exploring the island. He noticed a small, ornate box near the pond, half-buried in the soft grass. Intrigued, he knelt down and carefully lifted it. The box was surprisingly light and seemed to hum with a faint, mystical energy.
"What's inside, I wonder?" he muttered, opening the box. Inside, he found a black chocker, it seemed ordinary but he could definitely feel it isn't.
Tod picked up the choker, feeling its cool surface against his fingertips. He hesitated for a moment before deciding to put it on. As soon as it clasped around his neck, he felt a surge of energy coursing through his body, amplifying his connection to the Abyss even further.
"Whoa, what is this?" he whispered, touching the choker.
Words appeared before him once more, "Amplifier of Abyssal Power."
"Interesting," Tod said, feeling a newfound strength and clarity. He stretched his wings and took off again, feeling lighter and faster than before.
With the choker enhancing his abilities, he resumed collecting the AP energy. The blue orbs seemed to come to him more easily now, almost as if they were drawn to his amplified presence.
"60, 70, 80, 90…" Tod counted as he gathered the orbs, feeling the energy build within him. When he finally reached 100, he felt a surge of completion, as if he had unlocked a new level of understanding.
"Now what?" he asked, waiting for the Abyss to respond.
"Return."
Tod opened a rift and stepped through, finding himself back on his small island. He felt different, more attuned to the Abyss and its secrets.
"Well, I'm back," he said, looking around.
Words appeared once more: "Well done. Continue to explore and grow."
Tod then went back into his house and then let himself fall on the bed and then slept.
