Silence is embraced by the hours of darkness as moonlights emulate within an empty corridor two shadows walk together in one evening.
"Seriously just because you read some supernatural shits you think this is going to work ,Belle," Eliena frowned as Isabelle, one of her friends, roughly pulled her by the arm.
They walk toward Isabelle's dorm room with her distressed scowls, the other girl giggles in response, she rolls her eyes into the dark and lets herself be taken through the threshold of the door into the room.
It was midnight when Eliena was about to sleep after finishing the marathons of horror movies they planned to watch together. For her, it was not that engaging since she never got scared by those creepy ghosts, whatever people can name them, after all, it's just folk with myths not like they exist in real life, as she thought most of her life.
That's when the argument began Eliena's one comment and Isabelle stood up almost keen to defend all the ghostly beings even devils like she's herself a part of them so, in the end, to prove Eliena wrong they agreed to play a game a little bloody game her friend has been so obsessed with.
Sometimes she doesn't understand since when the scary cat Isabelle Carter becomes brave to go silly for those hunted crap but being a good friend even knowing this isn't going to work she only wants her cute puppy to be happy at this point.
After Isabelle tugged her into the bathroom with a dirty half-used candle, a lighter, and a black leather cover book that Eliena didn't recall her friend reading — she palmed the items and closed the bathroom door behind them.
"Now switch off the lights I'll light the candle then we call their name three times no matter what happens don't open your eyes and they'll appear... " In the last phrase the enthusiasm was bliss ascertained there's no turning back.
"You do realize it's the way to call Bloody Mary, right? " she said placing the candle on the sink
"But they're not Bloody Mary Lia, " Isabelle whines with an adorable sulk. "Oh wait. '' Placing the book over the sink she took out a razor blade from the box gently grasping Eliena's pointer finger she slit the skin, fresh blood oozed from the small aperture
"What the hell! " Eliena hissed snatching her hands back ready to wash the blood off but a slender hand stopped her, brows knitted in confusion she looked back at her friend catching a slight glimpse of something flickering over the face
"We need blood, Lia." Isabelle rasped pupils dilated in excitement. "Your blood."
The disdain on Eliena's eyebrows set still. "Really and why not yours?"
"Because she's not mine,"
The unreadable whisper gained her bewilderment as she gazed at the blood droplets on the black cover. "What?"
"Nothing, You know I'm afraid of bleeding." Isabelle shrugs. "It's just a small cut, don't worry you'll heal soon. "
"Soon my ass," letting out a sigh, eyes beginning to droop with exhaustion already. "Let's just get this over with."
Nodding in agreement without beating the air, Isabelle lights the candle, curious gaze watches patiently as she opens the pages of the book in front of the mirror where they stand. Once she finished she mentioned to Eliena to turn the light off, being obliged she did what she was asked. "Ok… now ready?" she asks looking at the raven hair girls reflection
"No," Eliena rolled her eyes standing beside Isabelle for the last time she glanced at herself. "Just a quick question from where your Demon Lady will appear?" she quipped peeking around the small bathroom
Isabelle grinned. "You'll see,"
Blankly staring at her friend with the help of the mirror Eliena crossed her arms over her torso. "So you're telling me you dragged me all the way here in the middle of the night to call someone that not only doesn't exist but has no idea from where he will just pop out." She groans
"It's she,"
"I don't care if it's a shit!" She scoffed
"Come on Elie don't be a chicken now you said you're not scared."
"I'm not scared am tired of your Lady antics for mother fucking sake Belle," She rolled her eyes rendering a slight chuckle in retort from her friend
As the lights turned off. Darkness swamped around her only the demure flicker of candlelight alights her reflection in the mirror.
"Eyes close. " Isabelle ordered.
Closing her eyes she chanted their names. Deep breathing cradles around like someone was near, ex-healing her scent pleasantly.
Drip, drip, drip.
Every crimson tail of her blood was loud to her ears, other individuals began to slip away. There was only her, the book, those chants, and something.
Somewhere.
Closer.
The temperature of the place began to drop but she didn't stop. Ignoring the waves of horripilation on her skin, she let the words bespeak. Drops of red pour out freely almost draining her of all she had
Drip, drip, drip.
The small dark half-wing birthmark on her nape tingles with temptations, along with each calling word a shiver runs down her spine when she feels something cold touching her burning skin. Jerking her head she snapped her eyes open.
Nothing.
"You can't stop Lia. Do it properly." A voice demands it seems to come from the girl beside her.
She grumbled slowly to herself. If she wouldn't love her friend so much she didn't have to deal with this. Standing in silence for a few moments she chants their names into the dark still, nothing appears.
"See I told you this is just fake," Eliena declared pushing the bathroom door open without offering any second glance to her pal she exited heading back to her dorm
If only for a beat of moments Eliena would have stayed there she would have a sight where the black leather cover book on the sink slowly began to vanish away into ashes in the air along with the strawberry haired girl an impish grin crawled to her lips seeing the grumpy little mouse running back to its den.
The deed Is done.
The bond has settled.
Now, the long awaited meet.
A loud Crackle shirks in the corridor violently— The little rabbit has fallen to the well
'Poor Eliena, what have you done to yourself?'
