Chapter 10 | Did we done That ?| I will Never Forget You

The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. Ash slowly opened his eyes, feeling groggy and disoriented. As his vision cleared, he realized that he wasn't alone in bed. Next to him, still fast asleep, was William. Ash's heart skipped a beat, and he sat up abruptly, the sudden movement causing William to stir awake.Ash's mind raced. What had happened last night? He remembered drinking at the bar, playing the game, and then everything became a blur. Fear gripped his heart as he wondered if something had gone wrong, something he would regret. Tears welled up in his eyes as he whispered, "William, wake up."William blinked a few times, his eyes focusing on Ash. "Morning, Ash," he said, his voice still husky with sleep. He noticed the tears streaming down Ash's face and sat up, concerned. "Hey, why are you crying? What happened?"Ash's tears flowed more freely. "William, did we... did something happen last night? I can't remember, and I'm so scared."William's expression softened as he realized what Ash was thinking. He gently took Ash's hands in his. "Ash, nothing happened last night. You were very drunk, and I brought you here to make sure you were safe. You pulled me into bed when I tried to leave, so I stayed with you. That's all."Ash sniffled, wiping his tears with the back of his hand. "But my shirt... I'm not wearing my shirt. I must have—""You took it off yourself because you said you were too hot," William explained patiently. "I promise, Ash, nothing happened that you didn't want and I will never do anything without your permission. Trust me"Relief washed over Ash, and he managed a small smile. "Thank you, William. I'm sorry for overreacting."William smiled back and pulled Ash into a comforting hug. "It's okay, Ash. I understand. I'm just glad you're okay."Ash felt a warmth spread through him as he leaned into William's embrace. After a moment, William gently pulled away. "I'm going to make us some breakfast. You should freshen up."Ash nodded, feeling a bit shy after the misunderstanding. He followed William to the kitchen and sat down at the table, watching as William started to prepare food. Just then, the front door opened, and a woman's voice called out, "Willi... Willi..."Ash turned to see a beautiful woman walking toward them. She seemed to be in her late twenties, with a confident stride and a warm smile. She walked right up to William and kissed him on the cheek."Who's this?" Ash thought, his heart sinking. The woman turned to Ash with a bright smile. "Hi there! I'm Hera, William's fiancée."Ash felt like the ground had just been pulled out from under him. Fiancée? His mind raced as he tried to process what he had just heard. William looked equally shocked, and Ash could see the panic in his eyes."Hera, why are you here?" William asked, his voice tense.Hera laughed, oblivious to the tension. "I wanted to surprise you, of course! I missed my future husband and thought it would be nice to spend some time together."Ash's chest tightened. "He's engaged? How could he do something that look like he is single if he's engaged?" He felt like he couldn't breathe, the room spinning around him. "I have to go," he mumbled, standing up abruptly.William reached out to stop him. "Ash, wait—"But Ash was already moving, his mind in turmoil. He rushed out of the apartment, barely hearing William call after him. He managed to flag down a taxi and give the driver his address before the tears started flowing.Once home, Ash collapsed on his bed, sobbing uncontrollably. The thought of William being engaged to someone else was too much to bear. He felt like his heart had been ripped out and stomped on. He had truly believed that William felt the same way about him, but now it seemed like everything had been a lie.Days passed in a blur. Ash ignored William's calls and texts, refusing to leave his room or even eat much. His world had crumbled, and he couldn't find the strength to face it. A week later, there was a knock on his bedroom door. It was his best friend, Eva."Ash, it's me. Can I come in?" Eva asked gently.Ash didn't respond, but Eva opened the door anyway. She took one look at the state of the room and at Ash, who was curled up on the bed, and her heart broke. "Oh, Ash," she said softly, sitting down beside him."What happened? You haven't been to university, and you're not answering your phone. I've been so worried."Ash remained silent, tears streaming down his face. Eva reached out and pulled him into a tight hug. "It's okay, Ash. You can tell me."After a few moments, Ash took a deep breath and began to tell Eva everything. From the wonderful day with William to the shocking revelation of his fiancée. Eva listened quietly, her expression growing more serious with each passing moment. When Ash finished, Eva was silent for a while, absorbing everything. Finally, she spoke. "Ash, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. But you need to remember that you're strong, and you're not alone. I'm here for you, and so are your friends."Ash nodded, feeling a small glimmer of hope. Eva's presence was comforting, and he was grateful for her support. She dragged him out of bed and insisted they go to a café to get some fresh air and something to eat.At the café, Eva ordered coffee for both of them and began to speak in a motivational tone. "Ash, you have to remember that you're an amazing person. Just because William turned out to be engaged doesn't mean you're not worthy of love. You have so much to offer."Ash listened, feeling a bit more encouraged. Eva's words were starting to make him feel better. "Thanks, Eva. I really needed to hear that."Eva smiled warmly. "That's what friends are for. Now, promise me you'll come back to university tomorrow. It's important to keep moving forward, no matter how hard it is."Ash nodded. "I'll be there. Thank you, Eva."The next day, Ash returned to university. It was difficult to focus on his studies, and he avoided William's calls and texts. He couldn't bear to face him, not after everything that had happened. But he knew he had to keep going, for his own sake. One day after class, as Ash was leaving the building, he saw William waiting at the entrance. Their eyes met from a distance, and Ash's heart pounded in his chest. He didn't know what to do or how to feel.....
