CHAPTER 73 - Progress

"Mirai-sama, the Sand Shinobi have created a new poison. This is the sample extracted by the medical camp. Please, could you formulate the antidote as soon as possible?"

Hyuga Mirai took the poison sample, nodded, and replied, "I understand. Please wait a moment. I will work on the antidote immediately."

With that, Hyuga Mirai made his way to the underground laboratory on the second floor.

Upon entering, his shadow clone immediately reported the situation to the body and other clones within the lab. "Everyone, the Sand Shinobi have developed a new poison."

"Then, as per usual, we will have two shadow clones work on the antidote. My experiments are almost complete," the main body of Hyuga Mirai responded without even looking up. On the experiment table in front of him was a humanoid mechanical creature—a biological assistant created by Hyuga Mirai himself.

This was a bio-mechanical assistant he had designed by extracting Hashirama Cells and combining them with the regenerative properties of the Eight-Tails Cells to form a living body. The internal structure was made of mechanical bones and electromagnetic components forming the nervous system.

The fusion of Hashirama Cells and Eight-Tails Cells had gone smoothly. Within a month, Hyuga Mirai had created a new cell from the fusion and used it to develop the biological body.

"Now, it just needs 'power' and 'soul,'" Hyuga Mirai thought to himself. "About half a month ago, I heard news from the black market that someone took up the mission for the Star Stone. It's been some time, so there should be progress by now."

He was contemplating how, without a powerful energy core to power the bio-mechanical assistant, it would only be suitable for daily use, with the bio-body needing to be replaced over time.

As for the 'soul' of the bio-mechanical assistant, Hyuga Mirai had received all the computer components he had asked the black market for, and he had already assembled three supercomputers to develop the artificial intelligence system.

Although the process was slower than expected, the purple snake was unwilling to use the humanoid bio-mechanical body Mirai had created. Therefore, Hyuga Mirai had to rely on artificial intelligence as the control system for the assistant.

However, Hyuga Mirai had not neglected the development of the purple snake. Ten days ago, his summoning beast, the purple snake, had evolved the ability to speak human language. Following the traditional methods of Ryūchi Cave, the next step would be a lot of hunting to allow the snake's body to grow rapidly by consuming food, eventually reaching the standard where it could absorb natural energy.

By then, the purple snake would be qualified to learn senjutsu from the White Snake Sage.

But it wasn't easy. Few snakes in Ryūchi Cave evolved to this extent, as the threshold for learning senjutsu was high. If not, after a thousand years, only a few snakes would have mastered the art, even among the thousands of snakes.

For Hyuga Mirai, this wasn't particularly difficult. He had already succeeded in breeding the purple snake and merging it with Hashirama Cells and Eight-Tails Cells. The growth agent specially created for the purple snake was ready, and once the snake consumed it, it would possess enhanced cellular activity and regenerative capabilities.

Moreover, Hyuga Mirai was considering additional modifications for the snake, such as adding chakra pathways, limbs, and wings to further increase its abilities.

It took almost a day to prepare the antidote, as the Sand Shinobi's poison had an interesting effect. It primarily targeted the nervous system, likely intended to incapacitate Konoha's ninjas on the battlefield, making them easy targets.

Hyuga Mirai could have accelerated the process by having all his shadow clones work on the antidote simultaneously, but his speed was already fast enough. Despite being hailed as Konoha's hero, Mirai didn't want to be the most conspicuous one.

Once the antidote and formula were ready, Hyuga Mirai left the lab and headed out. The people at the frontlines would undoubtedly be in a hurry.

Upon seeing Hyuga Mirai's figure emerge from the staircase, the ninja stationed on the first floor immediately displayed signs of relief and approached him eagerly.

"Mirai-sama, has the antidote been completed?" they asked.

Hyuga Mirai didn't waste words. He simply handed them the antidote and the formula, replying, "Here is the antidote and formula. Please take it back and have the medical camp at the frontlines prepare a batch."

"Is it successful? As expected of Mirai-sama! I will take this back to the medical camp and hand it to the Aoki-Senpai."

Every second counted—getting the antidote to the injured ninjas at the frontlines would save countless lives. If not for the antidotes that Hyuga Mirai had created, the River Country camp would have already been in dire straits due to the Sand Shinobi's poison.

The ninja immediately left after receiving the antidote and formula to return to the River Country camp.

After seeing them off, Hyuga Mirai didn't return to the lab right away. With the experiments almost complete, he decided to check up on the black market news and take a look at Ayaka Uzumaki's progress with her training, bringing her some new content to learn.

After pretending to stroll around Kikyō City for a while, Hyuga Mirai created a shadow clone to return to the lab while he himself walked toward the outskirts of the city.

He first went to a black market in the Land of Fire. Once a mission he had posted had been completed, he would be able to check the results here.

Upon finding the black market exchange manager, Hyuga Mirai, disguised, explained his purpose, and soon, someone went to inquire about the news.

After a while, the manager returned and told him, "The reward has been completed. The Star Stone should be delivered in about three days. You can come here to collect it."

Hyuga Mirai nodded. Although he was pleased, he remained expressionless on the surface and left without another word.

"I didn't expect it to be so easy to get the Star Stone... Is the Star Ninja Village too weak, or are the bounty hunters too strong?" Hyuga Mirai mused. After thinking for a moment, he decided not to dwell on it. he only needed the Star Stone to create the assistant, and he didn't want to focus on anything else.

In the three days of waiting for the Star Stone, Hyuga Mirai decided to visit Ayaka Uzumaki. Although they had only met once in the past month, Ayaka's progress in her training had been impressive.

Ayaka, a few years older than Hyuga Mirai, had not received any proper ninja training when she was younger due to the Uzumaki clan's unfortunate downfall. Yet, under the pressure of survival, she had managed to sense and control her chakra through her limbs, showing a natural affinity for chakra manipulation.

In just a month, she had already mastered the basic techniques of the Three Body Jutsu, Tree Climbing, Water Walking, and even the fundamentals of Sealing Jutsu. Particularly with Sealing Jutsu, Ayaka had fully tapped into the natural talent of the Uzumaki clan, learning at an astonishing speed.

Hyuga Mirai's purpose for visiting this time was to provide Ayaka with several low-level sealing jutsus and barrier techniques. Once Ayaka mastered them, Hyuga Mirai would move on to teaching her medical ninjutsu. As for the advanced sealing jutsus, Hyuga Mirai had only a few herself, and until he was sure Ayaka would not betray her, he didn't plan on teaching them.
