Prologue_2

Back then, Zhou Yuwen would always say with a laugh, "Hey, I need to pamper my wife, where would I have the time."

"Get out of here, you're nothing but sweet talk," Su Qing couldn't help but retort.

Then after the divorce, there was no need to cook for Su Qing or to pick up the wife in the car when it was raining.

When he found himself with free time, he really did think about Su Qing.

But then he remembered the criticisms she had made of him.

Zhou Yuwen thought, let's try writing a novel!

Who knew that once he started writing!

Damn, it actually took off!

Not to mention making hundreds of thousands a year, the company found out about his writing, and the executives, who were hardcore fans of Yuwen, were delighted.

Next thing you know, Yuwen was promoted again!

At thirty years old, Yuwen was making an annual salary of around four hundred thousand.

Truthfully, before divorcing Su Qing, he had only ever had one girlfriend, Su Qing.

Back then, Yuwen was so innocent.

He spent all day just playing video games with his roommates in the dorm.

Later on, he had an awakening, and since he had a girlfriend, he didn't want to mess around.

That was until after the divorce.

These young girls were really throwing themselves at him like there was no tomorrow.

Being so forward that Yuwen couldn't even believe this was real life.

The most memorable was when friends called him to play Werewolf and they couldn't find a venue.

Yuwen said, "Well, I live alone, why don't you guys come over to my place and play."

That night there were four girls, and when they found out the place belonged to Yuwen, they added him on WeChat right away.

These girls were really proactive, chatting with Yuwen in all sorts of ways.

One of them, who was said to be an art school student, was truly fair-skinned, beautiful, and leggy. Those long legs, you could enjoy playing with them for a year and not get bored. She was somewhat of a campus belle at the school.

After the game of Werewolf ended, she started coming over every morning at six o'clock by subway to bring breakfast to Yuwen's place.

Moved by her gesture, Yuwen let his guard down and she succeeded in sleeping with him.

The two of them were together for about three months.

Then one day, when he was at home playing in the water with her.

Suddenly, Su Qing barged in without any warning.

It didn't turn into a huge scene.

But later, the girl told him that Su Qing had sought her out for a talk.

Honestly, Yuwen didn't intend to jump from one relationship to another.

But every time he got into a relationship, that woman Su Qing would mess it up.

Yuwen was speechless, he asked Su Qing what she really wanted.

And Su Qing's reply was just two words: remarry!

Crazy, right? He finally got a divorce, and now to talk of remarriage, how could that be possible?

Then this time, for a classmate's wedding, Yuwen made sure to ask.

The other party made it clear that they hadn't invited Su Qing, only then did Yuwen show up.

But who would have thought.

Damn it! Su Qing followed him there on her own!

Originally, Yuwen thought that on such an important occasion.

Su Qing would at least try to maintain some semblance of dignity.

But who could have expected.

She got drunk!

Then she made a scene at the wedding venue!

Actually, it wasn't entirely her fault.

She just asked Yuwen with tearful eyes, why was he mistreating himself so much?

"You weren't like this before!"

What Su Qing wanted to say was that Yuwen used to be so honest, so why was he now changing girlfriends every three days?

Yuwen didn't know how to respond to Su Qing's question.

But then the young girlfriend next to him blinked her big eyes and asked, "Auntie, who are you? Are you close to the Uncle?"

Great, right in front of everyone, she outright called Su Qing an "auntie."

This was equivalent to striking Su Qing's raw nerve.

Su Qing's mentality completely shattered.

What followed was total chaos!

Su Qing and Yuwen's young girlfriend pulled each other's hair and tore at each other's clothes, causing a ruckus at the wedding venue.

Later, a drunk Su Qing clung to Yuwen's leg, crying with a face covered in tears, begging him to remarry her, she insisted they must remarry!

You owe your success to me today!

How could you not want me now that you're doing well?

Zhou Yuwen, I was wrong! Can we get remarried?

It had been five or six years since graduation.

Su Qing always said that Zhou Yuwen hadn't changed a bit.

In reality, the one who truly hadn't changed was Su Qing, always fiercely competitive, a childlike temperament, extremely possessive, never knowing how to cherish what she had; when she lost it, she would cry and scream to get it back.

How could the world possibly revolve around her alone?

To her, all these things seemed to be taken for granted.

Just like causing a scene at a friend's wedding.

She never thought it was her fault.

To tell the truth, maybe getting together with her from the start was a mistake.

How he wished life could be started over.

The train clattered on, never ceasing its rocking.

With closed eyes, Zhou Yuwen didn't know whether he had fallen asleep or not.

Until the sound from the train's announcement system came:

Dear passengers, the train number 2013 is soon arriving at its final destination: Jinling Station!

Then, the train began to stir.

There were noises of people getting up to take their luggage.

There were sounds of babies crying.

The final destination is Jinling Station?

Zhou Yuwen remembered his stop was supposed to be Jinling South Station.

What was going on?

Could he have missed his stop?

Why didn't his girlfriend remind him?

Was she mad?

Thinking this, Zhou Yuwen slightly opened his eyes.

When he saw everything clearly, Zhou Yuwen was momentarily stunned.

He was clearly on the high-speed train back to Jinling.

But why, when he opened his eyes, was he on an old green train?

In front of him, all the passengers ready to disembark were college students dragging their suitcases.

Where was his girlfriend?

Turning his head, Zhou Yuwen found no sign of his girlfriend; instead, he had slept next to a chubby uncle the whole way, which explained why he thought his girlfriend's figure had seemed to grow plumper.

"Young man, awake at last?" The chubby uncle, in his forties, chuckled good-naturedly, appearing quite benevolent.

Zhou Yuwen ignored the uncle and reached for his mobile phone. How come his girlfriend vanished as soon as his eyes opened? Was she really that upset? Did she leave the train first?

But that wasn't right. Why was he on an old green train?

"Hey! You there, have you no manners at all? My dad is talking to you. Didn't you hear him?" came a dissatisfied voice from across the aisle.

Zhou Yuwen turned his head and saw a young woman dressed in a red camisole.

It being September, Jinling's weather was at its hottest. The girl was dressed lightly, a red camisole paired with blue denim shorts, her slender waist exposed. Underneath the table, her pale and shapely legs were tucked away, exuding youthfulness during this warm September weather.

Zheng Yanyan?

College classmate?

What confused him more was that his latest Apple 15 had turned into a Gionee 305? That was the phone he used in college, wasn't it?

Eh? This outfit of mine.

"Hey! I'm talking to you. Did you hear me?" Zheng Yanyan was still unsatisfied.

The chubby uncle chuckled, "Oh, forget it, young man. Is this your first time traveling far from home? Are you coming here to study?"

The word "study" did remind Zhou Yuwen of something.

The year was 2013.

That year, Zhou Yuwen got accepted into a second-tier college in the south and had come here all by himself, leaving his hometown behind.

That night, Zhou Yuwen spent the entire journey on a train.

Zhou Yuwen remembered at the time, sitting opposite him was a very beautiful girl.

Back then, he didn't know Zheng Yanyan's name; he only knew she had long legs.

The restlessness of adolescent Zhou Yuwen meant he couldn't look away; his mouth couldn't help but produce saliva.

Later, Zhou Yuwen found out that the girl was called Zheng Yanyan, and they were in the same class.

While Zhou Yuwen was still in a daze,

the train finally reached the station.

At the same time, elsewhere,

a young girl couldn't believe what she saw in the mirror.

The eighteen-year-old appeared particularly innocent, her one meter sixty-seven height was yet not reflective of the forceful woman she would become. She wore a floral sundress, her hair was long, black and shiny, her nose pert, her lips rosy.

She looked at herself in the mirror.

At first incredulous.

Then the corners of her mouth curled into a bright smile: "Zhou Yuwen! This time, I won't get divorced from you again!"
