Scrambled Feelings

"This is going to be way too salty," Serena muttered, eyeing the heaping teaspoon of salt in her hand.

"It won't be," Aiden said casually, watching her with a smirk. "Once you add everything else, it'll be perfect."

Serena shot him a skeptical look over her shoulder. "Are you sure? I don't want you to get high blood pressure and die just because you're too salty."

Aiden grinned, his voice dropping into a teasing tone. "Oh, I'm salty? When exactly did you taste me?"

Serena froze for a second, her hands pausing over the bowl. She felt heat rise up her neck but quickly went back to mixing the tofu, trying to play it cool. "I was talking about the food, obviously," she said, though her voice was a bit flustered. "And you know that's not what I meant."

Aiden's grin grew wider, but Serena quickly added, "Fine, if you want to risk a salt overdose, that's on you."

She finished stirring the mixture and scooped a bit with her fingers. "Here, try it."
