**The Boys Universe**
"Shit, that's us!"
"What the hell?"
"What's going on?"
Butcher, Frenchie, and Hughie were all startled, breaking their calm demeanor. They had been casually watching the bizarre screen when it suddenly showed footage of them.
Even now, they hadn't figured out the origins of the mysterious screen, leaving the possibility that it was some other superhero's doing.
"Shit, this is bad," muttered Frenchie, quickly running to the computer and checking the surveillance. Once he confirmed everything was normal, he let out a sigh of relief.
"Calm down, Frenchie," Butcher said, regaining his usual composure. "If this really is Vought's doing, whatever we do now is already too late."
Frenchie thought for a moment and agreed. If Vought had been monitoring them, they would already be compromised, making panic useless. And if it wasn't Vought, then there was even less reason to worry.
Frenchie quickly composed himself, while Hughie, the only ordinary person among them, remained uneasy.
But Butcher and Frenchie were now focused on the latest video on the screen, leaving Hughie to his own anxieties.
"Amazing, truly amazing!" Butcher exclaimed after a moment of stunned silence. "Frenchie, I knew I could count on you."
Butcher's admiration was genuine. In their previous work under Mallory, they had all played specific roles in combating superheroes. Frenchie was particularly known for his ability to devise methods to take down these super-powered beings. This was why Butcher had roped him back into the fray.
"An anal bomb, an anal bomb!" Frenchie said, his eyes sparkling. "What a genius idea! How did I not think of that? It's brilliant!"
"Frenchie, you did come up with that idea," Hughie interjected, "and it really is genius."
Hughie was thoroughly impressed. With the threat of the invisible man resolved, the group's mood lifted considerably. For Butcher and Frenchie, creating a plastic bomb was a trivial task, done in no time at all.
But their main concern now wasn't the invisible man's threat but the mysterious screen. Why did it show footage of them? And why did it "guide" them to a method to defeat the invisible man?
"It's a shame this screen didn't come with a manual; otherwise, we wouldn't be so clueless," Butcher remarked.
"Hughie, any thoughts? This seems to be more your area," Frenchie asked, looking at Hughie.
Hughie rolled his eyes, thinking to himself, "I'm just a guy who sells electronics and does repairs!" But he scratched his head and offered his perspective, "I'm not sure, but maybe it's someone else who wants the invisible man dead? Someone who doesn't want to reveal themselves, so they're using us to do the dirty work."
It was a plausible theory.
"But we searched the area and didn't find anyone suspicious," Frenchie pointed out.
"If we're dealing with a superhero, they could have abilities that allow them to evade detection," Hughie countered.
The group discussed the idea briefly and agreed it was the most likely explanation. The screen and the videos were probably the work of a super-powered individual.
While they didn't consider the possibility of future prediction, they were determined to proceed. Butcher clapped his hands to signal the end of the discussion, "Okay, regardless of what this thing is or who's behind it, we've already caught the invisible man. There's no turning back. Let's deal with him first. Maybe he can give us some answers."
They quickly got to work. Frenchie swiftly crafted an anal bomb, while Butcher used a stun baton to knock the invisible man unconscious. The rest was straightforward.
"You idiots, you think you can do anything to me?" the invisible man taunted upon waking, his arrogance evident. But his bravado vanished when Frenchie revealed the anal bomb. He immediately appeared, panic-stricken and begging for mercy, just as depicted in the video.
The plan was working perfectly.
