Leander nodded, rubbing his belly. He then looked at Nelson and asked, "Uncle Nelson, what's for dinner?"
Nelson quickly pulled himself together, a bright smile spreading across his face. "We'll have all of Leander's favorite dishes!" he said cheerfully.
Leander clapped his hands happily, but his next sentence made Nelson's smile falter. "Father, let's eat together, too. Uncle Nelson's chef is amazing, and Leander loves his food!"
Alex grinned. "Well, Dad would love to try some of that delicious cooking too."
Hearing this, Nelson felt as though a knife had twisted in his heart. His pleading gaze fell on Leander, but the little boy didn't seem to notice, staring intently at Alex.
Alex looked down at Leander, then glanced at Nelson, and finally smiled. "Alright."
Nelson's smile froze, his eyes filled with embarrassment. He glanced towards Claire's room and asked, "Leander, should we tell your mother about this?"
