Chapter Six: Surprises

The next day, was a court session between John and his ex-wife, Stephanie.

She has taken him to the legal front, to claim share of some of his properties and wealth. From what she was fighting for, she also wanted a share in his company's money, since she was previously married to him for four years.

So, we were in the law court, and I accompanied John there. We were surprised to see Kelvin there, but John my husband, was more surprised. He needed concrete explanation as to why Kelvin was there. It was also here, that I got to found out that Stephanie was the first wife of John.

Oh! now I see. I finally understand.

However, the court was strongly ruled by strong and experienced lawyers from both sides of John and Stephanie, who was solidly behind their clients back and from the look out of things, Stephanie would definitely win John. However, I don't think I would allow that to ever happen.

I must surely deal with the both of them accordingly. I just needed to see what would happen, and how the case was going but surely, I would bring a plot twist and if not, confusion and violence very soon. I must frustrate them.

The case was finally adjourned to two weeks' time, making everyone in attendance, to vacate the premises, back to their respective homes.

We then, got into the car, and while we were going, I informed John that his ex-wife Stephanie, was the one marrying my ex-husband, Kelvin.

He was greatly shocked by my words.

''You don't mean it'' He spoke in shock.

''Yes, they are both together, and they are working hand in hand. From what I can see, they have planned to take over your company, and they won't rest, until they fulfill their missions'' I told him.

''You really know much about them? 'He asked me.

I kept silence for two minutes, then, I answered.

''Stephanie was my high school friend. I don't really know how he met and knew Kelvin. It wasn't long, I was chased out from his life, then realized that Stephanie was his new lover. I don't even think he loved her as he has confessed. He is just after her money''

''What a great insight my sweetheart'' He complimented.

''Since I knew Kelvin, he chases anything he wants, with anything and available means he has. He won't back out. I know him very well''.

''gbush-gbush-gbush''

Gun shots from nowhere, hits our car. It almost made the driver missed a step but when he remembered that the car was a bulletproof one, he remained unshakable.

Damn, our car was been attacked by assassins, who were firing at us possibly from a far and a silent distance.

Immediately, John's security team, began to communicate with him. They began to give us directions on what to do and what not to do. As they spoke to him through an earpiece, he delivered their words to his driver who is also a security man working with the state security services.

Chaos was seen all over the road, and it made people tracking and other motorists, to flee for their lives. Soon, everywhere was jam parked with different vehicles full of confused drivers.

The police and F.B.I. agents, was also seen making sure they handle the situation.

Few minutes later, the gunshots ended, and I was sure that the bad dudes possibly ran because of the presence of those security dudes who were beginning to investigate on the matter.

We got home successfully, without getting hurt simply because our car was not an ordinary one.

The news of an attempted assassination filled the national news channels, and other social media space, and it got many people talking about it.

Police and other security agencies were gradually rushing to our home, so that they would get the true picture of what just happened. Some of them, came to secure our environment, and to make sure they assist the pre-existing security dudes around us.

''Who are those trying to kill us?'' John asked as he said to himself. He was restless, and seem to be confused.

''I'm very sure it's still the same set of dudes who previously poisoned me. They have come again right?'' He keep saying to himself, as he was wondering all alone.

I just tried to keep quiet but my mind was also restless. Calls kept on coming but we were advised by our security dudes, not to answer them for now.

''John and Stephanie, are behind all this'' I said to him.

''I know, but I just wanted to be sure first, without me using my emotions to judge'' John informed me.

''In the end, you shall see that I was right. They are the ones who has been orchestrating all this against us'' I said.

''don't you think we might have other enemies apart from them?'' He asked.

''There is the possibility. However, the devil we know, is better than the angel we don't know. No matter what, my suspicions, are still pointing on both Kelvin and Stephanie' 'I said.

While we were yet talking, our attention was thrown outside, where we saw different journalist encamping around our environment.

They came to have some sessions with us because we being on the news alone, would definitely make them a commercial success since John is a billionaire, and famous business man in the country.

Certainly, we won't grant them any interview for today because we were still shock on today's incidence and infect, we were tired and yet to rest from the stress and emotional traumas of the court hearings.

John was very careful not to appear on the screen since he doesn't wish to give his hidden enemies clues about himself.

Meanwhile, the tension was still high, and definitely, many people especially news listeners, were patiently waiting to hear updates on the story.

I just decided to take my bath. I entered into the bathroom, and was surprise to see a letter well wrapped and kept on the floor. Out of fear, I ran back to the sitting room, so that I would tell John. Upon getting to the sitting room, I found my phone ringing. I picked it, and saw that it was Mr. Josiah, the head of the secret security organization I previously contacted.
