"Girl, you should check out your brother's new post on Insta. I heard he just graduated from studying at Canada and will come back tomorrow, aren't you excited?" Natasha excitedly ask Cassandra while walking down at the stairs. Cassandra just glanced at her friend before ignoring her words.
"You don't look so excited at all, come on. Let me guess you won't come at picking up your brother right?" Natasha asked, smirking. Cassandra sighed then hold her books tighter.
"Well, he's a grown up now and he can handle himself. Besides mom and dad will come and pick him up, if they didn't, I'm sure he still knows the way" Cassandra lazily explains, justifying her laziness. Natasha just look at her then smirks again.
"Don't you know the term 'moral support'? Come on, your brother haven't seen you for three years. Just come and see him you know, maybe he misses you" Natasha said, persuading Cassandra. Cassandra just sigh then look at her watch.
"I really can't, I'm busy tomorrow" Cassandra excused. Natasha only look at her with disbelief. "Well Ms. Dela Hara, let me remind you that you have no other schedule for tommorow since it's Saturday... And just what will you do tommorow huh?" Natasha ask, sarcastic.
"Me time" Cassandra shortly answered. Natasha then look at her, speechless. "Unbelievable" Natasha only muttered to herself at she keep on walking, Cassandra on her side. They are now exiting the building when they decided to separate ways. As Cassandra walked away, she grab her phone from her pocket and starts to enter Insta. She search for his brother's profile then chatted him.
[You'll come back tommorow?] Cassandra typed then sent it to him. She put her phone at her pocket while waiting for his brother's reply. She walked further, towards the school gate. Her phone rang and she grab it, looking at the caller's ID, she just look at it, casually before answering the phone. A voice of a male can be heard as soon as the call is pick up.
"Hey Cass! Will you come tomorrow to pick me up?" Harvey ask, his tone excited. Cassandra slightly pull her phone from her ear as soon as she heard her brother's voice. She then look at the building inside the campus then replied.
"Well, no" she lazily replied, she reached the school gate and now walking towards the parking lot where her driver is waiting for her. Harvey on the other end start on whining. He looks at his phone in disbelief before speaking again.
"Come on sis, can't you just come huh? You're always like this, so harsh at your brother. Can't you see how I miss my little princess?" Harvey whined, Cassandra just listen to his yapping, uninterested. Harvey on the other end secretly smiled, tapping his fingers on his bag while walking towards his room to pack up. Cassandra on the other hand reached a gray car then entered it. On the drivers seat, a young man suddenly spoke up.
"Ms. Dela Hara, where do you want to go?" The young man ask. Cassandra look at him while putting her things on the side of the car. "Home please" Cassandra ordered then she replied to her brother.
"Well, I have many things that I need to finish" Cassandra then smirks at the idea of her, making another excuse just to justify her laziness, she shook her head before sighing. "You got more time to do other things than to come and pick up your lovely brother? You really hurt me this time" Harvey dramatically said, exaggeration in his tone. Cassandra just listen to him, smirking.
"Then I don't have a choice but to give you my work hmm?" Cassandra threatened. Harvey suddenly goes quiet on the other line then Cassandra smirk. They exchange more words before Cassandra hanged up. She looked at the road in the window, watching as the buildings, trees and many things appears and disappears from sight as the car moved. Denver, her driver noticed her silence then fake a cough to break the silent before asking.
"Ms. Only if you don't mind... You seem more quiet right now. Is there anything that is bothering you?" Denver asked while driving. Cassandra just looked at him then shook her head.
"Nothing, I'm just thinking of Harvey..." Cassandra sighs then look at Denver. Denver looked at her in the rearview mirror, not saying anything. They arrived at the manor, as soon as she entered the house, her mother is the one that welcomed her, smiling.
"Hija, will you join us tommorow to pick up your brother?" Gwen asked, then lead her to a couch where his father is sitting while reading a newspaper.
"I won't" Cassandra answered. Gwen looked at her disbelief. "You can't be serious Cassandra, it's your brother..." Gwen scolded her. She just lean on the couch, her head is hurting.
"It's been 3 years since you saw your brother, can't you just slip him in your schedule?" Her father ask, looking at Cassandra with serious expression. "Are you this busy or you just don't want to see your brother?" His father ask then his look fall at the newspaper again. "Don't force her if she doesn't want to" Luke said in a serious tone. Gwen just look at her husband in disbelief.
"Luke, what are you talking about? Of course she needs to be there" Gwen exclaimed, Luke just glanced at her then sneers. "You pampered Cassandra well that now she disobeys, so don't expect any better things on her. You made raised her like a spoiled brat" Like said then look at the newspaper again. Cassandra just clenched her fist in secret. Gwen on the other hand look at Luke, wanting to argue more but Luke only glanced at her, coldly before looking at Cassandra.
"Why don't you be like your brother Harvey? He's a great student despite of being a scholar and student abroad. He's quite popular and have many influential friends there, why don't be like that huh?" Luke said, his tone with pride. "He even managed to be friend with Nicole Green, do you know how influential her family is?" Luke said, a slight smile appeared on his face. He look at Cassandra, his eyes sharp. "And here you are, acting like a brat. You never obeys me nor your mother, what a useless child." Luke said, Gwen only look at him nervously. Cassandra only look coldly at her father before standing up to leave. Gwen tried hold her hand, to prevent her from leaving. Luke only chuckles then look at his newspaper.
"Don't stop her. Since you already spoiled her to this extent, don't stop her. Let her do whatever sh*t she want" Gwen looked at her husband, reluctant. Cassandra only clenched her fist more, her knuckles white. She leaves the living room without saying a word. Gwen looked at her husband, worried.
"Why would you say that to her? You know her, she just don't like the crowd" Gwen explains, Luke only flipped a page in the newspaper, blank expression in his face.
"She don't like the crowd because you allowed it. I let you raised her yet she becomes this useless. She can't even bring honor to this family, what a waste" Luke said, his tone proves his dissapointment. "She still can't find her own light, let her explore things. You know that-" Before Gwen could even finish, Luke slams the newspaper in the table, looking at Gwen, sneering.
"Enough! I don't want to hear it. Just prepare for Harvey's arrival tommorow. I don't want to discuss any matter considering that spoiled brat again!" Luke ordered then walked towards the masters bedroom, serious. Gwen only sighed then looked at the newspaper in front of her.
