Chapter 3: Present

As soon as they arrived at the manor, Harvey walked out of the car then started walking towards the manor. Vince, who's still at a post and confused on what's going on got out and followed him. Vince held his shoulder, making Harvey stop.

"What?" Harvey asked, still frowning.

"What happened?" Vince asked, Harvey just shrugged his shoulder then looked at Vince.

"None" he simply answered then walked towards the manor again. Vince just sighed then walked towards Gwen.

"Madame Dela Hara, what happened at Harvey?" He asked, Gwen just sighed then shook her head. Vince just palmed his face then looked at Gwen, respectfully. "Madame, I'll go now" he said then waved his goodbye at them before walking away. Gwen wanted to call and invite him for dinner but Vince already walked far away. Gwen sighed then waited for Luke to finish parking the car before walking towards the manor.

Harvey, entering the manor saw the maids talking to themselves. Harvey walked in at the living room, not wanting to chime not to eavesdrop but then he heard Cassandra's name. He froze then leaned to eavesdrop on their conversation.

"I heard that Don Dela Hara wants to throw Cassandra out." A maid said, while washing the dishes, the other maid looked at her then one of them shushed her up.

"How can you be sure? Besides, They are our boss, once they find out that you eavesdrop on their matters, then good luck on finding another job" another maid said. The maid who just spilled the issue rolled her eyes.

"Really? Don really said that?" A maid that's holding a broom said, while weeping the floor. The maid who spilled the issue nodded. Harvey, who's still listening can't cope with it anymore, his mind are filled with what's and why. As he listen further, the more shock he became. Harvey slammed the door with his clenched fist then glares at the maids who's now shock seeing him.

"Sir Har-"

"What are you blabbering there? Why Cassandra will be thrown off?" Harvey asked them, his tone is firm and his face continues to frown. The maids in the kitchen looked away, they felt a cold running through their spine as they shiver. They all looked away, avoiding Harvey's gaze. Harvey asked again, his tone being more serious.

"I'm asking you, why Cassandra will be thrown off?"

"Sir... " one of the maid stuttered. Harvey turned his attention on her. The maid shivers as she spoke slowly. "Sir... Don Dela Hara threatened ma'am Cassandra that she will be thrown off if she continues to fail his expectations" the maid explains. Harvey clenched his fists unknowingly.

In his thoughts run a million question, many why, how and what. "Why?" He asks, his tone is cold sending more shiver on their spine, one maid spoke, her voice are cracked because of nervousness. "Ma'am Cassandra got a 94 at her report card... And... And..." The maid didn't continue her sentence when she heard Harvey's hands slammed on the table.

All the maid went quiet after seeing him in rage. Their faces shows stunned expression while they stare at the table and the things there that is knocked off due to the impact. Harvey left the living room and walked straight at Cassandra's room. Calming himself, he raised his hands to knocked at the door when he heard Cassandra's cold voice.

...

"Yeah, I know" Cassandra said while looking down at her balcony. She stares at the garden while holding a wine in her hands.

"Just making sure, you love to mess things up" Natasha said on the other line. Cassandra only chuckled then gulped at the wine. They exchanged more words before they hang up.

Harvey, outside Cassandra's room, waited patiently for their call to end before knocking at her door. When she opened it, Harvey met Cassandra's cold eyes. He looked at her in the eye. His tall figure standing in front of her, almost towering her over. His slender hands suspended in the air. Cassandra only stared at her, still saying nothing. When she coughed Harvey came back at the reality.

"What are you doing here?" Cassandra asked. Harvey only looked at her, not saying anything. He stares deeply in her green eyes, seeming to find something in there that he couldn't grasp. Noticing his silence, Cassandra looked at him then slammed her hands on the door. Harvey who's in his deep thoughts find his way to reality and he gulped as Cassandra looked at him, annoyed.

"What are you doing here?" Cassandra asked again, her voice have a sense of coldness. A flash of memories struck Harvey's mind, the face of his younger sister smiling, and laughing demeanor came to his mind like a flushing river. A pang of guilt can be felt on his chest as he stares at Cassandra.

"What happened?" Harvey asked. Cassandra, who's getting annoyed suddenly froze on her position, staring at him, she spoke "what are you talking about?" Cassandra asked, even though she knew to herself what Harvey is talking about but she chose to turn a blind eye. Harvey hearing this, palmed his face then look at Cassandra. He leaned at the door frame then stare at her.

"You know what I'm talking about Cassandra" He spoke, his tone is firm and serious. Cassandra didn't say anything but her aura seems to darken. Harvey noticed this, his face darken, he walked closer while looking at her eyes. "What happened?" Harvey asked again, Cassandra just shrugged her shoulders then her hand landed on the door knob. As she was about the close the door, Harvey used his hands to prevent it, he slammed his fist at the door, creating a loud noise. Cassandra only looked at him, coldly. Seeing this, Harvey's rage only worsen.

"I'm asking you Cassandra" clenching his fist, he looked at Cassandra's room and froze as he saw a plain decoration on her room. The black walls, the plain looking bed and pillow, the black blanket, her desk that only have her computer, her table that have a set on make up on them, It's far from Cassandra he once knew. He looked at her, his eyes softened as he walked closer then cupped his hands to her cheeks.

"What happened? Why did you..." Harvey's words are cuffed as Cassandra pushed a box on his chest, she stare at him coldly before finally speaking. "Here, don't bother me again" Cassandra said then pushes him before shutting the door. He only stared at the door where Cassandra was standing earlier. Still shock, he looked at the box that he's holding.

"What really happened Cassandra..." Harvey asked, his voice are low and almost a whisper. He went to his room, his mind are full of thoughts, full of unspoken questions. He reached his room and locked the door behind him. He gently placed the present at the table then walked at the balcony. He grabbed his phone and call someone.
