Armed with the information from the archives, Max and his friends gathered in the library to plan their next move. The map they had obtained from Mr. Collins showed the location of the containment facility deep within the school's underground network. The facility promised to hold crucial answers about Project Nexus, but accessing it would be no easy task.

Max spread the map on the table, tracing the route with his finger. "The containment facility is located in a section of the tunnels we haven't explored yet. According to the records, it's heavily secured."

Emma adjusted her glasses, her eyes narrowing in determination. "We'll need to be extremely careful. The documents mentioned biometric access and coded locks. If we trip any alarms, the whole school could be alerted."

Lila, ever the tech-savvy one, tapped on her tablet. "I can try to hack into the security system and disable some of the alarms. It won't be easy, but it's our best shot at getting in undetected."

Marcus, who had been quiet until now, spoke up. "We should also have a plan for if we get caught. Maybe we can say we're doing a school project or got lost."

Max nodded. "Good idea. Let's make sure we have our stories straight. We'll need to move quickly and stay together."

As night fell, the campus became eerily quiet. Max and his friends met near the entrance to the tunnels, their faces lit by the glow of their flashlights. The cool night air was filled with tension as they descended into the dark passageways.

The tunnels were a labyrinth of twists and turns, the walls lined with pipes and cables. The group followed the map, their footsteps echoing softly in the confined space. Lila worked on her tablet, attempting to bypass the security measures as they moved deeper into the underground.

"Got it," Lila whispered, her face illuminated by the screen. "I've disabled the first set of alarms. We should be able to get through the next door without triggering anything."

They reached a heavy metal door, similar to the one leading to the Primary Nexus Chamber. Max held up the device they had found, which displayed a sequence of symbols. He followed the instructions, pressing the corresponding buttons on the door's control panel.

With a soft click, the door unlocked and creaked open. The group exchanged nervous glances before stepping inside. The air was colder here, the walls lined with advanced technology and equipment. The containment facility was vast, filled with rows of secure storage units and high-tech monitoring devices.

Emma pointed to a central console. "Let's start there. We need to find out what's stored in these units."

Max and Lila approached the console, while Marcus and Emma kept watch. The console's screen displayed a series of files and schematics, each labeled with cryptic project codes.

"Look at this," Max said, scrolling through the files. "These are detailed reports on various experiments and technologies developed under Project Nexus."

Lila accessed one of the files, revealing blueprints for an advanced energy manipulation device. "This technology could revolutionize everything. No wonder they wanted to keep it hidden."

"Uh-oh," Marcus said, his eyes widening. "We need to get out of here. Now."

Lila frantically tried to disable the security alert, but the facility's alarms began to blare. Red lights flashed, casting an ominous glow over the room.

"Run!" Max shouted, grabbing the files and blueprints they had found.

The group sprinted toward the exit, their hearts pounding. The alarms echoed through the tunnels, a deafening reminder of the danger they were in. As they reached the heavy metal door, it began to close, triggered by the security protocols.

"Hold it open!" Max yelled, pushing against the door with all his strength.

"We need to split up," Max said, his voice urgent. "We'll meet back at the library once the coast is clear."
