Solomon Family Threat

The tension I felt being with this family was overwhelming. It felt like chains binding me and not allowing Mr. August to breathe easily while he was here. This was the first time I had seen a wealthy family imposing their way of life on other family members, as if they only valued dignity and status as conglomerates above all else.

"My goodness, I feel like I can hardly breathe here. Are they going to continue debating Mr. August's life choices again?" I was anxious, wondering what else they would say next.

The atmosphere had been incredibly tense just a few minutes ago. I had remained silent as they exchanged harsh words, but now I felt suffocated and wanted to breathe in some fresh air. I said to Mr. August, "Excuse me, I need to go to the restroom."

I looked at Mr. August, and it seemed he understood my current condition. Then, I glanced towards his family, and John's mother stared at me sharply. John and Emma, too, looked as if they had not accepted my presence among them from the beginning.

"Alright, come back soon," Mr. August smiled as he said this to me, almost as if he was hoping I wouldn't leave him alone there for too long.

I could feel how Mr. August was enduring with his family. If it were me, I might have gone crazy. How could a family put so much pressure on another family member just for a life that might not even bring happiness?

Before leaving, I nodded in response to Mr. August's words and didn't forget to return his smile. I stood up and slightly bowed to show respect to those who still stared at me sharply. I continued my steps towards the door in one corner of the room.

"Ah... finally, I can breathe freely. For a moment, I can take in some fresh air. The atmosphere there was so dominating, especially John's mother, who always pressures Mr. August." I couldn't help but mumble all the way to the restroom.

Even inside, I couldn't help but lament the strange behavior of the Solomon Family. I couldn't even consider them as a real family. Even though I only had Uncle Martin, I was fortunate that he didn't have such an attitude.

The presence of John there still made me incredulous, especially his mother's status as Mr. August's sister. It was truly shocking. I knew John had a lot of money, but I didn't know his last name was Solomon, one of the wealthiest families in this city. The August family was indeed very complicated.

Now, I stood in front of the mirror, looking at my reflection, which appeared different. Mr. August had transformed my appearance to match his. It was true that money could change everything, including my look.

After spending a few minutes in the restroom, I realized that Mr. August might be wondering why I was taking so long. I didn't want him to come looking for me, so I ended my activities in the restroom and went out.

Before leaving, I washed my hands and fixed some of my makeup. Then, I stepped outside. But as soon as I was outside the restroom, I felt uncomfortable and startled again as John suddenly appeared in front of me with his arms crossed.

He looked so arrogant with his current appearance. Although his body still looked appealing, I always remembered his flaws to avoid falling into the same trap again. John looked at me from head to toe, a crooked smile on his face, seeing my different appearance.

Whatever was going through his mind, I didn't want to know. It would only make me angry and emotional, recalling the past.

At first, I wanted to ignore him, but he blocked my path with one hand. "John? What are you doing?" I asked to be sure, hoping to calm my heart as I faced him directly.

John was truly showing who he was now. He displayed his power and what he could do to me easily. However, I was sure he would think twice before doing anything, considering Mr. August was behind me, which would deter John from acting recklessly.

Before I got an answer, John quickly grabbed my hand, preventing me from leaving. "You cheap woman. If you want money, I'll give it to you. Quickly! How much do you want to stay away from my family?!"

Money could indeed be used for anything. John had planned to separate me from Mr. August using his money. Such a narrow-minded thought, and it certainly wouldn't affect me. John didn't know what had happened between Mr. August and me before this, and he surely had bad thoughts after our apartment incident.

"Sorry, but I'm not interested in your offer, John." My response was firm and definite, so John wouldn't underestimate me again. Especially since the previous incident left a lasting mark, and I remembered how he treated me when Uncle Martin desperately needed help.

I shrugged off John's hand with a single flick. Once freed from his grip, I continued walking. Unfortunately, John made me stop again when I heard his voice. "Stay away from my uncle, Ellena. I'm warning you."

Such a classic line, and I had expected it. The Solomon Family, including John, would not accept my presence among them. It was clear that John was trying to bring me down and scare me away from moving forward with Mr. August.

I was so annoyed by John's words that I turned around to respond. "I never thought you would say something like that, John. You're just like your family."

I could see John's angry face; he was provoked. His hands clenched, trying to control himself, but he wasn't one to hold back. "I know you're with my uncle just for his money, right? So, there's no harm in accepting my offer regarding the money you need. Isn't it the same?"

John spoke about me so easily. It seemed he would try harder to interfere with my relationship with Mr. August after this, especially since I rejected his enticing offer.

My emotions were mixed; I had just found peace, and now I was uncomfortable again because of John. This man only thought I was using his uncle for money. What a narrow-minded thought. Seeing what Mr. August was going through, I felt more sympathy for him than thinking about money.

My heart, which was hurt by John's treatment during our time together, now felt a fresh pain hearing his harsh words. However, I didn't want to show my weakness to John. I tried to ensure he wouldn't belittle me further here.

"What a heartless man. He says such things to my face without considering my feelings." My heart ached, and I had to suppress it deeply to keep it hidden from John's eyes.

I stood tall, straightening my body in front of John. Then, I looked sharply at him, thinking he didn't truly know me all this time. Although we had lived together for some time, he seemed to forget what I was like during our time together.

"You really don't know who I am, John. Honestly, what did you think of me while we were together? You have such a narrow view of me and your uncle. So what if I'm with him? He is much better than you." John's emotions were evident, his face turning red after hearing my words.
