I Know Overall

My head throbbed as the phone call ended. The news I had just received was yet another problem falling on my shoulders. I had just dealt with Gannon, and now the news of my father being in the hospital due to an accident made my head pound even more. I never expected my father to go through something like this, especially at a time like this.

"Are you okay? How about I take you to the hospital?" Gannon's voice startled me for a moment. Such an offer felt unusual at this time.

Honestly, I didn't expect him to ask me that. My mind was a blur, and I blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

"No need, I can go by myself. Don't bother pitying me." My response seemed to make Gannon understand.

I could see the worry etched on his face. No, it looked more like pity, as he had overheard the news about my father. It's been eight years, and in all that time, he never showed any real concern for me. And now, suddenly, he wanted to act differently.
