"I can't believe he helped us," I said, as I started to look around the mountains that we found ourselves in.
The towering peaks loomed over us, their jagged edges piercing the sky, casting long shadows over the narrow path we had taken.
The air was crisp, almost biting, and each breath felt like a small victory against the thin, frigid atmosphere.
Amelia stood beside me, her eyes scanning the horizon.
"Neither can I," she admitted, her voice tinged with a mixture of disbelief and relief.
"But we can't let our guard down. We have no idea what his true intentions are." I nodded, even though I did not trust his intentions.
"We should start our journey and make use of the daylight," Garret said, and I agreed with him.
We started our trek through the mountains, while Garret skillfully led the way. I could tell that he was scared about being back here, but we have to do this.
